ACHAT Hotel Braunschweig

The ambience and the location are of course, the deal breakers. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. I had to extend my stay, and it was a hassle-free affair to deal with.

Professional staff, slept well and we had a good breakfast.

It’s near the Main Train Station

The Location of (my) Room is so far from the Elevator..and no AC, though they provided Standfan, it is too loud.

The hotel has a great location just across the Braunschweig main train station. Overall, it is acceptable for a short stay.

I stayed in room 225 which was a single room and thus quite small.

The position is strategic, the hotel is located in front of the main train station and close to the highway exit.The city center is just a couple of kilometres away and well connected.The hotel is pretty decent and has a sauna and gym too.The staff is very welcoming.

The hotel is clean but the moquette on the floor had a weird smell.Moreover, I could feel the spring of my mattress

When I first entered the room, I couldn't find a water heater to make coffee. Then I went to the receptionist to bring this up, and I was lent the water heater.Thank you very much."

It would be better if the room was equipped with tea, coffee, sugar, and a water heater.

Good hotel just opposite of the main station. We stayed for one night and found the rooms quite clean and also not loud (as opposed to some reviews).

Room smelled a bit like someone had smoked there before

1. NO heaters in the room..it was freezing cold outside2. TV was not turning ON. Old TVs with no access to internet3. Wifi was awful. Had to completely rely on my mobile data.

The location is central and has easy access to transportation being right by the train station and tram stop. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom was well designed, spacious and very clean with the exception of the carpet.

It is undergoing renovation which is necessary, but can make for a noisy stay. It wasn’t too much of a problem for me, thankfully. One of the elevators was being repaired, and the one elevator that worked had some problems that first day. The carpet is definitely older, and for some reason it had not been properly cleaned before had arrived, with several stains that made it feel unsanitary and that you shouldn’t walk on it barefoot. However the staff promptly came and cleaned these stains, which made it look and feel much better. The breakfast used to be amazing, we had stayed there years ago. This time it was hit or miss. The rolls and danishes not always fresh, and the coffee great one day and just okay the next. You have to ask them to clean your room, but it wasn’t explained very clearly when you need to do this when I had arrived. I had asked one day, just before 10am and that was too late. Making that process easier for the guest would be great and better communication of this would be helpful. I had also tried to make sure that breakfast was included with my stay when I had booked the room, and although I had selected this through Booking.com, that did not happen, which had cost an extra 21 Euro per day. Not sure why that occurred.

You booked me into the ACHAT hotel in Braunschweig between 4 and 7 December for myself.They have stated that I booked for 2 persons but this si not correct. Please confirm this with the hotelRegardsAdrian Edwards

Hotel was great but the most important criteria is the STAFF / super helpful and extremely responsive as I encountered a medical emergency . Like to express my sincere gratitude for their fast response ! Awesome ?

Location is convenient right across the train station, although you need to get public transport to reach the center. Breakfast was very good and staff was polite.

Rooms need an overhaul, the design, furniture and carpet seem to be from the 90s. Bathrooms should be renovated.

This was above expectations having stayed at other Achat Hotels. It was really nice and freshly decorated and the room and bed were just great. Since I came in late in the evening by train it was fantastic to just have to walk across the road from the Hbf to already be there. Next day I walked in to the Innenstadt and looked at all the obvious historical squares. It was just a 1 km walk with a very pleasant park for the first bit of the trip. I didnt have breakfast because I knew I was going out, so cant comment. Staff both evening and morning were very nice an friendly which added to the pleasure.

A kettle with a bit of tea and coffee in the room was missing.Recommended

No bath towell, just a small towel.No airco, while it was very hotNo sunscreens or shady areas in the breakfast room, while the sun was already very hot.

Location! Literally just across the Hauptbahnhof making it very convenient to go anywhere.

Didn’t provide water kettle and it’s not air conditioned. I think it’s an old hotel judging from the lift and how some light is flickering.

I strongly dislike the terms and conditions of booking. As a member of Genius Level 3, I received a reasonable discount, I made a booking with an option of resignation on the arrival day and chose to pay at the hotel when I arrived.A few days later, I saw on my bank account that the payment had been made, and the hotel replied, "Conditions have changed because the price is very good." If conditions change, I usually resign. Contract is contract. Achat does not comply with the contract, and I must check if it is not against the law in Germany. In Poland, it would. Be aware!
