Hotel Hof van Gelre by Flow

An excellent hotel, great staff and food, highly accommodating. A great hotel to explore the less -visited parts of The Netherlands. The rooms are a little quirky, but overall I highly recommend this hotel

The location in town was nice and quiet - secure bicycle storage

Room was small- which was not the issue. Issue was bed was crammed in corner so only accessible from one side (if that - as also inside recess so no real bedside table etc) bed was small and collapsing one one side - very uncomfortable and to make things worse bottom sheet on bed was too small for bed ! Have been travelling for 40 days in Europe bike touring and this was the worst room on 40 days (and most expensive!!) really cannot call themselves a 4 star hotel when room has bad like that (and overlooks ac units (so noisy if window opened - which needed to be as no AC in room) and the bathroom was tired (with soap dispensers that did not work etc)-

Obvious deterioration in service levels. Excuses for staff not cleaning. Unfriendly staff. Breakfast poor quality

Location is great to explore the region

Very old fashioned. Matrasses sliding. Room very hot. Portable noisy aircondition. Totally understaffed.Restaurant food would be ok if not for the pretense of being something exceptional and not a hotel restaurant. Very expensive for the quality presented. Poor service, but considering these were students practicing, they will learn in time. But our experience was ruined nevertheless. We were also advised to skip cleaning our rooms ( better for the environment) but the main reason is actually they were understaffed. Not a 4 star hotel

Perfect hotel for a walking or biking tour in a charming town and surrounded nature area. Nice for one or a few nights to discover the region. Great pool for some aqua gym. Outdoor terraces.Restaurant present nice dining options.

The hotel is in a transformation process to upgrade them self. It's not yet finished, what means that some things are out dated. But from a sustainable point of view, it is still useful to apply.A pity was that the air pump for the bikes didn't work.

Nothing to improve

location and parking in front; very pet friendly with welcome gifts for dogd

two lamps and tv not working. booked deluxe but the best thing was nespresso machine in room

Restaurant staff were lovely and the food is great

Drainage issues in room, curtains wouldn't close, shower head was falling apart. Told staff on first night and although the drainage was fixed the next day the other issues remained.

Good location! The food at the restaurant was pretty good. Swimming was also nice

Room was too warm there is not ventilation or way to graduate temperature. There was too much noise from other rooms.

very very very bad impression. wasted money for no service

at booking there is no info, that reception closes at midnight. arrived 5 minutes after midnight, was not able to stay. door bell doesn’t work, nobody answers hotel phone

Disappointing

There were two negative points about this hotel:a) none of the notices or written nformation was in English - surely a minimum requirement in any hotel today that wishes to attract international visitors;b) the rooms were not cleaned, beds not made nor towels changed on a daily basis. This was disappointing.A notice in the room said something about protecting trees, but as it was in Dutch we could not understand.

The location wad very good near to all I needed.

They put me next to the pool I can't the colorine was smelling very badly.

the staff were very good.

no air conditioning. the conventional fan in the room was making a noise and impractical to operate and probably not safe.

the hotel is in a nice area. The facilities were clean and the hotel made a good impression.

our room was on the 1st floor and our windows overlooked a roof covered with different compressors and air conditioning. unfortunately our room wasn’t air conditioned, so we had to either cook in the room, or open the windows and suffer with the noise from outside. Also seemed to be a bit understaffed.

Reception staff could be more friendly and welcoming

Location and breakfast, fine! Parking space for car also plenty.

At price paid we expected much more comfort and up-to-date facilities. The elevator is from the 70s, bathroom from the 80s and fittings from the 90s. Really old stuff, if I knew I would never have booked.

This aesthetic hotel complex is set in quiet surroundings. Nice large room with attractive furniture, including a comfy bed, and coffee-meaking facilities. Bathroom also modern, convenient, with cuddly towels and well lit. In a laid-back setting next to several restaurant rooms, there is a pleasant bar where guests can enjoy, e.g., a variety of streekbieren. Breakfast has everything you may want to find, including tasty coffees and do-it-yourself fried eggs. Friendly staff. Recommended :-)

the room was a bit cold and there was a device heating in the room but it is not working well
