    Pros +

    • The room was very comfortable, clean and easily accessible. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was quite good. However, the location and property were excellent, and were my favourite parts of the hotel. With the hotel being made out of a historic building, you certainly get some fantastic medieval vibes!
    • Perfectly located in the centre of Deventer. It is not fancy, but it sure is perfect in terms of location, old town charm, comfort, kindness from the staff and the breakfast spread is great! Definitely recommended.
    • The bathroom was very good. The bedroom was small. The bed was comfortable.

    Cons -

    • For a single night with only two people the price was a bit high. The studded tiles on the floor of the shower cabinet were also a bit harsh on the feet (though I am aware of the function they serve, as you could potentially slip on smooth tiles), but the overall experience was not too bad for the price.
    • Not much was wrong at all. If I have to find something, perhaps the fact that the room was one floor higher than the lift so I had to use the lift then carry my bags up the last flight of stairs to my room.
    • We walked in at 14.55 and were told by the front desk that check-in was at 15.00? 5 Minutes come on. This was the worst guest service I have ever received at a hotel.

The breakfast spread was great, and the location was perfect for anyone visiting Deventer. The hotel is probably considered budget, but it is exceptionally clean, safe, has friendly staff, and is very comfortable. Value for money, because if you are visiting Deventer, you do not want to spend your whole time in the hotel room. If/when I visit Deventer again, I will certainly consider Fletcher Hotel Gilde. It has an old-world charm to it, too!

Breakfast is said to start at 07:00 only. I did go earlier but it was clear that they were still preparing somewhat. For a hotel like that with quite a few businesspeople, I'd recommend a 06:00/06:30 breakfast start, especially during weekdays.

The location, the breakfast and the room had a balcony.

The bed was really soft and the towels were lame.

The staff were friendly. I arrived after a long hotel day of cycling, and after checking me in, the same pleasant young woman was serving cold beers and other drinks to customers outside in the beautiful enclosed terrace. That cold beer really hit the spot. The location is excellent for a visit to Deventer.

Enjoyed the curious old building, delicious breakfast and relaxing on the courtyard balcony.

Didn’t appreciate the small room, uncomfortable bed unfit for a couple, and noise in the early morning though reception apologized for the unexpected disruption

Very good value for money. Perfect locatie if you need to be in the city centre. Good breakfast.

Parking is 7 min walk. Public parking for 10 euro a day. Not expensive. But you can not drive to the frontdoor or you need to arrange this in advance. For us no issue.

Great breakfast included. Nice garden/courtyard. Friendly staff. Good location.

Room was small. No easy chairs or place to put suitcases.

Great Location, Everything is just couple minutes walk from hotel, Nice Helpfull Staff, Super Comfy Beds, Big choice of breakfast food, Nice Garden to seat in sun. Nice Big clean room. With all of that, price is really great, we had amazing time in this place, definitely will back.

No doors between room and bathroom was bit disturbing, but we were fine. To rooms at top floor you will need use stairs( Wasn’t problem for us, but ai know it’s important for some people)

They had a single room at single room price for one person. Check in quick and easy and breakfast included. Nice spacious en-suite bathroom was pleasant surprise for what is a small room.

Single room(s) in the attic and you have to exit the elevator on 3rd floor and go up a spiral staircase that is long narrow and could be hazardous, especially if you have luggage. (See photo). No tea or coffee in room. And the room gets light in the morning as curtain doesn't keep room dark. Also other guests making noise in morning, sleeping past 8am difficult.

The location is great. The center square was within three minutes walk. Breakfast was delicious. The service tram was polite and friendly. Our room was spacious and had a small kitchen. Also it was clean and very quiet and had easy access to the river bank. Recommended to families.

Very quiet top floor room, away from hallway and main hall. Room was nice, and sufficient in size.

Expected at least a water cooker or coffee machine

    Beautiful building, great breakfast.

The room was rather simple, but I slept very well.

Lovely old converted convent. Radiators in every room that you could use to your liking so our room was always lovely and warm. Nice bar too.

I don’t think the price reflected the stay. It definitely is overpriced, the rooms weren’t as advertised (nowhere near as big or luxurious) - it was definitely nice and staff were lovely but unless the price changes I will not be going back.

Characterful hotel with ornate Reception area staircase and landings. Large, basic and quiet room (room 22, third floor) including sitting area. Excellent room heating in very cold weather. Large bath (always a bonus) with plenty of hot water. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Excellent breakfast but could be very busy at weekend. Very useful and reasonably priced hotel bar on first floor, serving hot snacks after 10pm. Located within easy reach of the town centre, the Dickens Festival and the very reasonable, modern and spacious Stadsport car parking - 10euro/24hrs.

Luggage storage area unlocked and accessible to anyone entering the hotel without passing Reception. Check out 11am.

The room was clean and warm. The bed was comfortable. The receptionist was friendly.

The description and photos of our room were utterly inaccurate. The room was extremely small and very cheaply furnished. A small, coffin-like wardrobe/cupboard; cheap wooden desk and no bedside tables (no room for them) or lamps. One plug socket. No tea/coffee making facilities; hairdryer only available from reception. Cheap, polyurethane carpet. It resembled a room in the cheapest of hotels from 20 years ago. The bathroom, though clean, was dated and not what you would expect in 2024; again very dated with a basic handheld shower unit and plastic curtain, cheap white tiles and flooring which you would see in a municipal swimming pool. Cheap soap dispensers. Breakfast was equally disappointing. Limited in its offering. Tea and coffee from a machine. Limited fresh fruit and tinned fruit salad. Limited cereal. Bacon and scrambled eggs very dried up. Staff here were unwelcoming. Atmosphere funereal.

Our room was lovely. Was on the bottom level and no one near us. Only problem was couldn't open window as people could access our room.

Like I said room great but window didn't have latch so we could leave window open if we were out.
