The food was poor.
It’s small, quiet and you can hear the birds in the morning
The staff is not very friendly, they don’t seem to be very happy working here. The buffet has limited options of salads almost nonexistent.
The food was good
Old building, lots of mosquitos in the area, everything is far and is not convenient if you travel with kids.
Beach onsite
The beds, cold water, brown water coming from the sink, the smell of the water coming from the shower, not many food options, multiple lizards in my room. I wouldn’t stay here again.
The hotel people were all very nice and the entertainment was wonderful
The hotel is a little aged and further from Cartagena than expected.
The scenery, it is a beautiful hotel - great work from their gardeners, really outstanding nature
It didn't feel like an all-inclusive. The hotel lacks variety and if you want something different to their very few options you have to pay extra. The room felt very corporate, a bit cold. The bed and pillows were really comfortable though.
Decent Hotel, but Needs Renovation and Better All‑Inclusive ServiceMy family and I (5 people, including two children) stayed at Hotel Estelar Playa Manzanillo and found it to be a moderately nice property, clean and with pleasant surroundings, but clearly in need of maintenance and renovation to feel fresh and modern. However, there were two major service issues that significantly affected our stay:Early check-in lunch policyWe arrived at 2 PM expecting to have lunch as we’ve experienced at other all-inclusive resorts. But at reception, we were told we couldn’t receive our wristbands until 3 PM (they serve lunch until 3PM) and if we wanted to eat earlier, it would cost 75,000 COP per person. This felt like a very poor welcome.Unfair drink restriction at check-outCheck‑out is at 12 PM, but guests receive a voucher for lunch. As we were waiting for our final meal, my father asked for a drink. The bartender refused because he no longer had his wristband, and said so loudly in front of other guests. That public refusal was both unnecessary and embarrassing, a stark contrast to the warm hospitality we’ve seen at other all-inclusive hotels.

My family and I were staying in a junior suite, which was large with a good view over the adult-only pool. The ground benefits from beautiful mature trees and is very green and nice and a private beach.
Many basic facilities were missing, no hairdryer, no iron, no cup for the coffee machine, no remote for the tv and no glasses for the water. The staff were all very nice and smiling but we had to repeat requests for a bed for our son, missing towels and the missing facilities above too many times over a long period to call it a high level if service expected in a 5 stars property. The surroundings of the family pool was also consistently dirty with discarded cups, paper towels and lost toys stuck in the bushes.
Amazing hotel, helpful staff, the food out of this world - best food I had in last five years (in the Colombian themed restaurant at the hotel). Thank you for everything.
-very friendly staff (Evinson in reception exceptionally helpful and kind!)-delicious a la carte restaurants-very well kept gardens and beautiful structure and swimming pools - very comfortable beds and spacious rooms-night show was amazing-shuttles to cartagena-private beach-animation
-noisy air conditioning system- not newly refurbished - not all staff can speak English (however they are all eager to help)-the beach is clean, the temperature of the water is amazing, but because the resort is close to a city and the sea it is quite shallow don't expect crystal clear water
Food and spa services
Laundry service wasn’t on time
I used to every year I love the location and facilities
Poor variety of menu, almost the same every day
Beach: hotel occupation was low so we could enjoy always having available beach seats and tents, the beach was almost empty and clean.Pool: nice pools and ambienceRestaurants: nice variety of food, plenty of snacks, always good options of healthy choices (salads, fruits, juices with no sugar)
Gym: It was really in a bad shape, didn't look clean and machines looked old and not well maintainedRoom: little things didn't know and require better maintenance: AC is very noisy, there are constant sewers smells at the bathroom, blocked drains on the sink and shower faucet were also broken. We had all that on our room. Cafe at the resting pool: there were never available snacks or drinks for free, even a cappuccino had to be taken with a fee.Beach bar: wasn't open due to low accommodation so we had to walk to the main bar to take drinks, which can be painful during very warm and sunny days.
All inclusive, excellent service, nice beach and pool
More pools
The place has well kept gardens with a variety of flora and fauna that shows that the hotel cares for the environment. The service and attention from the staff was very good, efficient and genuine.
The hotel is beautiful but the music playing is extremely loud and this makes it difficult to appreciate and enjoy the beach and pools. The staff allows people to play music on their own speakers and this makes for a lot of loud noise when it could be instead an oasis of relaxation, which is what I was hoping to find.
The food could have tasted better, but the variety of the food was good I just thought that the food would be more flavorful. the pool was out of this world. the beach was gorgeous.
the flavor of the food and that you had to put in reservation for dinner.
The room was really good
They didn't have more chairs or spots in the beach and there is a lot of space to add more chairs
Food was ok
No stove refrigerator was hot no kitchen utensil
