    Pros +

    • Checking in was quick and easy, room was very spacious. Bathroom in the Luxery room was also great, with a very good jacuzzi bath even for tall people was nice to lay in.Great wellness area in a seperate building from the hotel, 5 different sauna options.Nice balcony with nature views possible.
    • The food at the restaurant is good but some of the waiters are not polite.
    • Fab restaurant. Been here many times over the last 25 years and the restaurant is one of the best if not the best I have experienced in Holland

    Cons -

    • I always have a bit of dislike for wellness area's where the pool is combined with sauna.Swimwear and people going from the pool in a sauna, is just not done i feel like (mostly for hygiene sake). Also small kids running around and being quite loud while u are trying to relax in a sauna does not help much. Would help if the 2 area's are separate or at least a age limit for the sauna area. For a bit of security feeling, all the balconies are made basically into one long continues balcony. There are no dividers from one room to the next.
    • We booked an expensive room that was listed as pet-friendly, but on arrival we were placed in a cheaper room because, according to the hotel, only that category allows dogs. Despite acknowledging the downgrade, the hotel totally refused to offer any compensation. The room was on the ground floor, noisy, dirty, full of spiders and bugs, with trash at the hotel entrance. The bed had a hole in the middle, a moving topper, and an extremely soft pillow. Many asylum seekers/immigrants live in the hotel, making the atmosphere unpleasant. Overall, very disappointing and misleading.
    • The staff is not very reactive with guest.

The pool and wellness are well-kept clean, the room is also comfortable and clean.

The staff is not very reactive with guest.

Easy access from the Autobahn. Courteous staff. Very clean. Stayed in Junior Suite. Bathtub in the middle of the room was a new thing for me, but Exceptional! Spacious room.

Doors to the bathroom are mirrored on the outside. So long as the room is very well lit, no one can see anything in the toilet area, just a mirror reflection. However, at night with a dimly lit room or dark room with light on IN the bathroom.....people outside can see quite a bit. And no one really needs to see that.

Really enjoyed our short stay here, the staff were friendly, very helpful and courteous. The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. We were in Assen to go to the racing at the TT circuit, hired e bikes to get there, easy 30 min ride and great for exploring the area. It is a fair walk from the town but easy to get to using bikes or transport. Great choice for breakfast and meals in the restaurant or bar. Would definitely stay again. Did not have time to try the wellness centre but it looked good.

Nice upgrade to have included a bubble-bath in the room. Super breakfast with anything you could possible like.

I always come back so there is nothing I do not like. It is located close to the connecting highway (no worries) a little outside of the city, you need a bicycle :-)

    Value for money

Next to the highway room and therefore car noise when open the window.Hand shower was broken and not enough electrical charging points next to the beds.

Breakfast was very non-eventful. Okay by Dutch standards, which means not great by everyone elses'. Rooms and facilities were good, and the elderly man at the front desk is excellent.

    Breakfast.

The staff is amazing and very accomodating. The restaurant is beautiful and the dishes great as well. The wellness is unbelievable for a hotel, I loved every second!

Room was very hot and hard to get colder: but that may just be a preference! Unfortunately you can't open a window, only a door to a balcony, which felt unsafe to keep open. However, again this may just be a preference, as I prefer to sleep cold.

Room was spacious, clean, well appointed, modern. (To my surprise I received an upgrade)Bathroom also spacious, clean, well appointed and modern. Both shower and jacuzzi. It is a large facility. The internal signage was good.Breakfast full selectionDinner wide selection and tasty. Not high cuisine, but more than standardBuffet lunch for workshop group was fresh, tasty and attractiveI facilitated a workshop - the facilities were excellent and the staff friendly and efficient. Easy to deal with in advance and they met all our needs throughout the day.

    Nothing to complain about

An amazing hotel in Assen, very close to the motorway and only 5 min drive from the town centre. Spacious rooms, modern bathrooms, plenty of free parking. Great restaurant with multiple choices for various tastes. Excellent customer service - the hotel was very helpful in all respects when we had a medical emergency. Highly recommended, will stay again!

The bathroom door in our triple room was a sliding door made of matted glass. This would not have been a problem if the kids were younger, but it was a bit of an inconvenience with teenage kids staying, as there was little privacy in the bathroom. Thankfully, the hotel super-cosy toilets were not too far away!
