- It was excellent! Very nice and cozy room, good bed and shower. And a superhost!
- The location was great, parking garage nearby (first 24h free) and walking distance form the restaurants, bars and shops. It's across the famous 'gate' and drive to the highway is short. The two seats were very nice to watch some TV. Decoration was modern and nice.
- Huge room and very comfortable n an impressive old building. Free parking if you drive along the canal a bit. Quiet and relaxed.
Cons -
- They don’t offer breakfast but there is a place close to the hotel where you can have breakfast. And otherwise lots of bakeries in the neighborhood.
- The finish on the rooms was a bit poor, for example, some space in the parquet, a gap under the door letting in a lot of light/sound, a makeshift little panel to cover a quirky (in a nice way) window. The single-pane windows are cold and induce mold after collecting condensation. It wasn't clear to me (maybe my fault, for not studying the details) that this is a 'lock-box' room, calling it a 'hotel' is a stretch that compares itself to the spandex in Kim Kardashian. My wife found the stairs a challenge, but I'm not supposed to have an opinion on this :-) The windows of the lower rooms were covered by very ugly 'luxaflex'. When arriving in the room, there was a HUGE list of 'don'ts' that were not in in the description of booking.com.
- The host has NO idea of hospitality, customer friendliness or ability to think along with the customer. Judging by her camera footage, she stood at our room door to tell us that 3 people were too many and told us that we (or 1 person) needed to leave the room. And yes, it's true: we went in with three people to deliver the suitcases of two ladies. After not seeing each other for years, we felt the need to catch up briefly (we were 10 minutes in!) before walking into town.In addition, I originally booked the room for my adult children, who are not yet 30 years old. The fine print states that each guest must be at least 30 years old. Something that is a very unusual rule. That is why it is unpleasant that this is indicated in small letters, because you can easily read over it (and booked equals payment). I believe this is unworthy of Booking.com! Canceling the booking was not possible, getting a refund for, for example, 1 of the 2 nights was also not possible. In short: NOTHING was possible. I called the host twice for a bit more collaboration (high phone costs because I needed to call her via my American phone subscription). The host treated us like little kids in a very arrogant way. I have never in my life had to pay so much money for such bad or basically NO SERVICE! It was a bummer and put a damper on seeing friends after many years.

Stairs very steep if you’re on first floor.
Very nice room at a great location
No breakfast and no staff
Comfortable
Advertising as hotel but it’s an expensive air b&b. No facilities for breakfast no food allowed in room had to be out for 10am when no where is open. Stairs up to room are lethal
Good location. Clean and modern bathroom.
The room wasn't clean when we checked in. The floor was filthy and hadn't been vacuumed when we arrived, and there was sand, hair and dirt from previous guests. Housekeeping didn't clean the room the next morning and we had to request they come back to clean it. The room was cleaned each day afterwards but it was just a basic clean - not thorough. Sheets were not changed despite the fact we stayed for 6 nights. There were layers of dust all over the windows and blinds. Only towels were changed each day. Finally, the owner/manager barged into our room on 3 occasions WITHOUT KNOCKING. One one occasion we were in bed. Our privacy was invaded and we felt quite violated. On another occassion we had 2 of our cousins in the room for less than 10 minutes - they came to use the bathroom - the manager barged into our room without knocking and was screaming at us that we could not have guests in the room. The manager then refused to leave our room until our gusts left. It was a total breach of privacy and I would never stay here again. To repeat, our guests were there for only a few minutes to use the bathroom. The verbal abuse and invasion of privacy was not in proportion to the situation. This was very poor customer service. We did not feel comfortable for the rest of the stay and we would not recommend this accommodation. Furthermore, as a 'hotel' there was no fridge, breakfast, minibar or any other facilities to make the accommodation more comfortable.
Great location, comfortable bed, coffee in the room. Very nice and helpful lady who gave us the key.
The internal ventilation system was relatively loud, very warm in the room during the day, it was not possible to open the window, there is no refrigerator. Not exactly cheap
Location and rooms are good
Staff or owner is acting absolutely inappropriate!I had overseen a little sign in the entrance indicating „bicycle not allowed“ and parked my bicycle in the entrance hall after check-in via telefon. 15 min later the women arrived and was absolutely impolite and almost screaming at me and additional arguing with some nationalist geert wilders arguments like arguing a dutch person would act in a better manner - reason enough to not support this business anymore!!
The concept, staff, excellent breakfast, nice, complete, kitchen. Moderate room with a lot of loose cables (electricity/tv/wifi).
The very small douche. You can't call it a bathroom. You share it with 6 people!1 toilet for 6 works well.
Great location, modern apartment right in the heart of Sneek. You can make coffee and tea in the room, and there are nice options for breakfast close by. Clean place, easy self check-in. Would come back!
Only downside is the price, the apartment lived up to its expectations and we really enjoyed our stay, but it was pricy. Because you're in the city centre it can get a bit noisy in the night, as expected.
it was the second time i've been to the hotel and in fact the same room. So I knew, what to expect. The hotel and ites surroundings are one of the most scenic places, right opposite the cities landmark and a lovely place with much character itself.
Unfortunately the price for the room increased by nearly 40% compared to the former due to the begin of the tourist season. Other residents in the room above mine were quite noisy almost all night, as were some groups of people outside the hotel, for which to my mind the hotel itself is not at all to blame.
perfect location, lovely surroundings. Charming and comfortable room with tea/coffe making facilities and plenty of provision.Breakfast in the next-door café was amazing.
The light in the bath is turned on by motion detector only and is not turn-offable.
Very friendly personnel on the phone. Nice interior. Good breakfast in next door café.
The room was cold, could hardly be heated, and quite noisy due to the road in front.
In general, OK place. No physical contact with people to book in -- may be an advantage for some guests. Nice furniture,
A bit noisy location, but personally I didn't have any issues with my sleep. They do not serve breakfast, but advice where to get one close by.
Very nice location, boutique vibe, cosy room, friendly staff
We really did have the best view in the whole of this charming little town. Excellent information from our hosts too
The stairs - but all part of the fun in The Netherlands!
Excellent location close to all facilities and in a very pleasant area. Comfortable and very clean. Easy check in via phone call.
All good.
The view to the waterfront was nice. The hotel was in the center of sneek. The information by telefphone was good.
It is not really a hotel. All need to be done by yourself . To get your room key you need to insert a number in a box . To bring your bigger suitcase up to your room on the small stairs was not easy . You need to be fit to do it.Parking was 300 m away in one underground car park ( Near Aldi ) Nice 24 h free of charge . No breakfeat in the hotel.I got no invoice by the hotel. They forward me to booking com. In the room was during the night a loud Van. There was no switch to make him off. 10 am you need to leave the room.
I booked here the money was taken from my account and I was told it was only for couples above 30 my boyfriend was under 30 and we did not get out money back !!!
everything and the attitude of reptionist
