Hampton by Hilton Kiel

This was our first time staying at a European Hampton Inn, and we were very impressed with the quality and hospitality. The staff was super helpful with where to park with minimal cost, the breakfast was WAY above US Hampton and the bed was super comfy

Kiel is not the nicest city in Germany.? lots of homeless people and it seems a bit dodgy in some ways but the hotel and location were great

Not for families

We ordered 2 rooms as a family (2 adults and 3 kids) and they split us to 2 different floors. I asked for 2 rooms at least on the same floor if not adjacent and they refused, what I consider to be very unfriendly behaviour.

We booked a room for three but the room was not prepared for three people. We made the staff aware multiple times but they did not seem to take our concerns seriously or try to solve the issue. This is unacceptable.

I will never stay here again.

I have stayed in this hotel together with my colleague, and we stayed in two separate rooms. Both of us experienced big issues, and the biggest one was that someone was disturbing us during the night. Both of us stayed in different rooms on different floors. Someone was screaming in front of the door and hitting the door, but we had a feeling that the person was in the room. It was 2:30 in the morning. We could not sleep after that I could not sleep also the following nights. Nobody from the hotel staff came to apologize or explain what happened. So we went to the reception and explained what happened. They said that they were aware of this and that we could get free beers. I mean, really?! They explained that someone from outside entered the hotel, passed security, and went to the upper floors and was disturbing guests. We were so scared that night.So I am not coming back, nor do I recommend this hotel for a stay.Besides that, they were having really bad cleaning service, and on the first morning, it was too many people at breakfast, and there was no food available for everyone, so basically we barely had food and a place to sit during breakfast.

Very good location closed to old town and parking nearby.

Breakfast could have been more diversified. Time to time was missing fork or knife or they run out of one type of bread and did not replace or was hardly left any yoghurt.

No maid service for a 4 day stay. No new towels without asking. Hotel was very busy and seemed under staffed.

The location was very central and the room facilities were also really great. The breakfast menu also looked great with the range of options.

I wish the room shower had a door at least.

When the prices are not sky high, this hotel offers great value. Well located, with friendly staff and a decent breakfast.

Friendly staff available 24 hours-even to serve at the small hotel bar in the lobby; a very good breakfast and great views and location. The pull out bed for my child was very comfortable!

Everything was quite modern and mostly clean.

Breakfast wasn’t great. Limited choice for the price and during peak times I was expecting long queues but also the staff was quite behind on restocking the breakfast and you often couldn’t get way you wanted right away. Rooms were nice and modern but quite small and the closet is tiny.

Disappointing

Booked 3 bed room. The third bed was very bad. Paid the hotel on first day after reaching the hotel, they lost the receipt and so thought I did not pay and just disabled my key of the room and went to reception to talk and they say I haven’t paid yet. Very inappropriate and had to show the bank statement as proof of payment. They could not even track the payment they took from me.Morning breakfast time would not get a table for having food.

Very good location and calm place for relaxation. Very neat and helpful staff. Breakfast was perfect to start the day in peace. An extended breakfast time from 6:00-11:00 is very perfect that you don’t need to rush.

Our room was not ready when we arrived(almost 4pm) we arrive in the hotel at 10am so we can check in early but no room is available so we went out, then came back like 3:50pm so we can check in but it surpises us as our room is not ready yet and we were asked to wait for another 10mins. Then I have asked why our is not ready as its already almost 4pm and we were asked to come back in the morning at around 1pm as maybe our room will be ready but not ready yet when we arrived, I was offered for something to drink but the approach was not so welcoming so I said I am ok, all we want is just to rest due to long hours travel and we are very tired. Eventually we were offered our room for 3 persons but when we arrive in our room, the extra bed is not done yet so we did try to call the reception few times but now answer then went to the reception and asked if someone could assist us for the third bed, very helpful lady and a youngman who is very helpful. We just had an issue in checkin due to miscommunication. Above all we enjoyed our stay, the third bed is not very comfortable as you can feel all the spring of the sofa bed and squicky noise when moving.

Large bed, comfortable mattress, convenient location with cheap parking in the square right outside. Friendly staff and a fun waffle machine for breakfast.

Our view from our window was concrete walls and a roof top. That was a little disappointing seeing the location of the hotel. The sausage patties and croissants at breakfast were dry and boring but that's just a minor thing. The rest of breakfast was good.

Nice experience, apart from abscence of promised Wi-Fi in the room which was really crucial for me

They were not able to properly check me in for some reason, and because of that Wi-Fi in my room didn't work. It was very crucial for me since I planned to work from my room and specifically checked for Wi-Fi in the room before choosing the hotel
