Pros +
- The hotel is located near the train station and multiple business within a walking distance. The customer service was A+, all hotel stuff was friendly and helpful.
- Dedicated parking in front of hotel at no charge. Close to station.
- The rooms in the renovated part are large and comfortable with all the amenities you can wish for. The breakfast is exceptional with local products. The pastries are to die for. Overall, a hidden gem in a small town in Flanders.
Cons -
- Some of the room towels had stain on them.
- Bathroom is small, no hangers on the walls, no extra toilet paper available. No minibar. It is not worth the money you pay.
- The only minor remark I can find is the copper sink. Even though it's beautiful to look at, it corrodes easily and leaves no room to put anything else—a tiny detail.

Friendly staff at the reception.Breakfast was very nice offering a wide variety to choose from. The beds were comfortable.
The room was not clean:- Stains on the curtains- Stains on the bed (not on the sheets, the sheets were clean)- Stains on the walls (dirty/greasy fingerprints from workers we assume)- Lousy paint job- Messy repairs were doneThe bathroom was not clean:- Black mold in the corners of the shower- Dust piling up between the heating cover panel- The upper tiles not cleaned, the staff probably can not reach the upper tiles so there are clear marks up until where the cleaning staff reaches every time- Dust in the corners on the floor
Absolutely stellar breakfast and the facilities very nice and clean
The mattress was too soft (which may be personal preference) and collapsed in the middle.
Big room. Very close to train station. 30 second on foot.
Big room. Very close to train station.
The bathroom door is very difficult/tight to open and close.Expensive.
In the city center with free indoor parking. Very comfortable rooms, ok bathroom. Very friendly staff. Everything was perfect
The room was beautiful and felt very luxurious. The staff was very kind. When I left for a festival and came back in the night they asked how it was. I felt very welcome. The breakfast area was amazing. A lot of stuff to choose from. There was so much I couldn't try it all in my 2 day stay. Also my view was amazing!
I have just one complaint. The room was too warm. It was 24 degrees when I arrived in the room. With opening the windows and turning down the heater I got it down to 22,5 degrees. I forgot to mention it when I left because the overall stay was so pleasant.
Excellent location including parking facilities next to hotel. Quite comfortable room with nice seating area.Great breakfast with several options to choose from.
very comfortable bed , fridge microwave and coffee facilities in the room , good choice at breakfast, nice quite and welcoming hotel in a good location.
Downstairs looked nice. But don’t let that deceive you. Staff nice enough didn’t really speak much to them.
I’ve been awake for two nights in that place. Loud customers, and locals, bitten in the bed by bugs all over my arms and legs including my partner, bathroom just vile. Lack of fridge for water. Shouting and banging outside at 1am, walls paper thin you can hear everything! Pics nothing like the ad. Breakfast too expensive 20E PP. Too hot. Locals drinking beer out the cars near entrance. Do not recommend at all!! Will be pushing for a refund for this place. Extremely disappointed. Going home tired and itching all over. Maybe they need to focus more of fumigating the place and sorting out the bathrooms, doors, lighting, lack of refrigerators.
It’s very close to a central pedestrian zone and lots of shops and restaurants
The cleaning could be improved, but it was fine
nice room, friendly staff, convenient parking
sound insulation between rooms
Great breakfast, comfortable, frshly renovates room
Pretty busy parking.
The multilingual receptionist was super helpful, including about the surroundings! The staff was also super helpful when I couldn't find the (unusual) way of switching from the bathtub's faucet to the shower function (just pull the tip of the faucet down). The bed, many pillows, many towels, tea set, choice of TV channels, etc were great. I felt the 20-euro breakfast was fine if you intended to make it a whole brunch, otherwise it's too expensive for just 2 slices of bread and a cup of coffee. So I had what I needed in my bedroom. The view to the quiet, old-fashioned (but clean & renovated) street was fine too. I strongly recommend the women's apparel shop across the street from the hotel in the Vlamingstraat (n°9), "Amorie": great quality for value (which is not always the case in the expensive nearby commercial street Ooststraat), helpful staff (and not pushy, unlike some of those salespeople on the Ooststraat). The Parkhotel receptionist warned me that if you need a hairdresser in the neighborhood, you had better set an appointment in advance, and before 6pm. Roeselare/Roulers is great! Recommended too!
As I said, the breakfast was too expensive, unless you made it an entire brunch, with eggs, fruit and everything. It was not a four-star hotel, so there was no carpet (better put on the slippers which they provide for free!), no fridge, no microwave oven, no shampoo, no kleenex box - but there was plenty of soap above the sink and bathtub, plenty of toilet paper, and an electric kettle to make warm drinks.N.B. I bought dehydrated soup bags from a small Pakistani shop just on the other side of the railway bridge nearby (to the right of the train station), it's called "Station Express" but I called him "Le Paki du Coin"! They also have milk, cocoa, jam, etc for your breakfast, half the price of the Parkhotel; it's open every day till 8pm! That being said, the receptionist told me that, personally, she would not venture (any further) in that neighborhood, on the other side of the railroad...I say that because the Ooststraat is mostly apparel stores, not the grocery store type - and most of the surrounding stores close at 6pm, so...Also, some of the lamps in the Parkhotel bedroom were not working, above the mirror in the bathroom and above the bed. But the main lamp behind the partition behind the toilet and the 2 lamps in the bedroom were working properly.Let's say that the standard room is fine for a night or two, but I wouldn't make any long stay with such basic comfort. They do also provide an ironing board and an iron in one of the cupboards. But some basic things like a bathroom carpet, a kleenex box and shampoo were missing. Also in the tea set, they only provided 2 tea bags (and 2 cookies, milk & sugar), but no coffee nor herb tea. Also, some workers are still renovating some of the rooms, at least on the 4th floor (4rde verdieping), they keep talking until rather late and the rooms are not insulated against the noise.
Location and cleanliness
Being woken up by builders at 7.10 AM!
The staff was very helpful, the position is great. I think the breakfast smelled good but didn't get to eat it.
The hotel is recently renovated but they didn't fully do it. In our room we had dust from the wall paint in the blow drier. The mattress was dirty, the sheets were very clean. It was a mix of old with new but everything that was old was bad.
Excellent location directly across from railway station. Very good breakfast. Clean room and excellent staff.
Nothing to dislike
The room was spacious and had a fridge and microwave; the location was excellent, very close to the station and there were shops within easy walking distance. The staff were friendly and extremely accommodating.
The station was nearby (which was useful) but there were rough people hanging around the station, which is not unusual for stations, but something to be aware of.
