    Pros +

    • Nice room, comfy bed, good location. Included breakfast was ok, not great. Great view of the St Rumbolds cathedral from the breakfast room. Strange method of getting in to the hotel and room via a link sent via Whatsapp. Would have preferred a key card. Hotel has no reception staff.
    • The self check-in, the cleanliness, the practicality were good. The location is perfect. Breakfast is nice, and the staff are friendly and helpful.
    • First morning breakfast wasn't even in the same hotel, had to walk to another place to get breakfast.

    Cons -

    • The room is extremely small. The last minute booking, especially on a new year’s eve made it expensive, otherwise I might have preferred going somewhere else bigger.
    • Non-personal check-in sucks.. and required use of whatsapp. Not recommended.
    • No one on reception Tiny walks

The location, close to the cathedral.

The fact that there wasn't any staff at all at the reception nor in the rest of the hotel. I arrived at 12h. I had to contact the hotel by phone. The person at the phone told me first that they would let me in because it was cold. Later I received a text message that I couldn't check in. When I checked my mail I saw that I couldn't even leave my luggage in the deposit so I went for a walk in town with all my luggage. If I had known there wasn't any staff and I couln't deposit my luggage I would never have booked this hotel.

Basic, clean, quiet and super central Mechelen. Very nice staff. Bed, linens, bath all great.

Perfect for my needs and expectations

The location is very central and paid parking Indigo is close by. Contactable by WhatsApp is useful

1.The online check-in via WhatsApp is unusual and can be misleading. The " Room Entree" should be replaced by " Reception Entry". 2.The check out by 10am is way too early and unreasonable 3. The room is really tiny like a pigeon-hole suitable for back-packers only

Perfectly located in the centre of Mechelen and within walking distance of the train station.

No service beyond the cleaning and a person in the breakfast room during the morning. No tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms. No possibility for purchasing drinks or snacks in the hotel. Nobody was ever at reception. The room was quite basic and the bathroom very small (couldn’t open the shower door without hitting the toilet). While the room was clean, the carpet on the hallway needs to be replaced or deep cleaned.Broken mirrors in the lift and the room.

Breakfast options for vegetarians limited, otherwise good. Clean and comfortable, despite having no staff around. Location really good.

A kettle in the room would have been perfect

    Location

Handsope in the shower ? Electronic doors where broken, but owner arrived fast to give us manual keys.

Great location, well cleaned. Good amenities, wifi and private bathroom. The staff is friendly and the hotel was overall quiet.

The virtual keys are buggy. When asked the staff told me they left keys for everyone behind an unmanned counter, meaning anyone could walk off with YOUR room key.

The location was great, between St. Rumbold's Cathedral & the livley Fish market area. The rooftop terrace was a nice place to enjoy a pleasant breakfast.

There is no reception & no staff. You have to use a link on your phone to not only gain access to the hotel but to your own room. You have to swipe a link to get into your room instead of being issued a key. All things most people are capable of doing of course; but I don't want to. Offer that as an option as well as a key card perhaps, or code that doesn't rely on a device. What on earth would you do if you didn't have a mobile phone, sufficient charge or internet access? It's just absurd. None of this is clear at time of booking. After travelling all day, you don't want these complications in my opinion. Plus, because there is no reception there isn't a secure facility to leave luggage anywhere. Other than that, the hotel is adequate but these things just enrage me.

Staff were really helpful and friendly

Coffee wasn't brilliant. The Capuccino was too weak. Tried doing an Epresso with milk from the fridge but the result was cold.

    5NealPosted on: 9-17-2025

    It was clean

We arrived late, no one on reception or onsite. We could not enter as keys are electronic and I had no WiFi so did not get the WhatsApp messages to get in! Single bedroom was small and bed super small. It was noisy with people coming out of bars very late shouting and singy. Then road works starting early!

    7JosePosted on: 9-8-2025

    Perfect location

Corridor smell humidity, not air condition, chk-in system maybe the worst . First need to receive a WhatsApp message then click on the link and finally slip to enter main door and another one for room door.If you lost your mobile phone or don,t have battery you are out in the street

    9Andra-luciaPosted on: 8-3-2025

In the center, clean and comfortable

    3BeautyPosted on: 7-26-2025

We liked automated key link. You could open the hotel door and room with the link and just swipe right. It didnt work once but in 10 minutes someone came and gave us key. Daily cleaning was also ok. The customer service was good.

There was mold everywhere. Mold was on the walls, behind the chairs, even in bathroom in shower doors. Disgusting. See pictures taken from day 1. We were breathing the mold all 10 days. It was horrible. There were spider webs behind the chairs, around the night table. The bed was so uncomfortable too soft.

Yards from the square and the enormous and majestic cathedral, so extremely central.

    7AnnePosted on: 6-12-2025

The location was great, staff was super helpful and friendly, the breakfast was in a great location with view of the cathedral

Some things did not work. Only one of the three sockets in my room gave electricity, the door system did not work so I got a physical key, I was woken one morning by some alarm going off every one/two minutes

    7ViktoriiaPosted on: 5-19-2025

The hotel is nicely located in the very city center, small but cosy.

The reception only works from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. but you can enter with electronic keys. Unfortunately, the hotel doesn't provide clear video instructions on how to do it, so if you are not familiar with this method, you will face the problem of getting in.I booked the hotel several months in advance and asked for a quiet room but there was a noisy restaurant right below my room that was really disappointing. The hotel reported they were fully booked, so they couldn't accommodate my request to change the room.
