Pros +
- The hotel is a converted church with gorgeous art, stylish decor and incredible atmosphere in the public areas.
- A historical abbey cleverly juxtaposed with modern design elements. Staff on point... excellent memories & personable. Offered to store our wine purchases in their cellar during our stay, but their subterranean valet parking sufficed. Super comfy bed, quality linens & bath products. Easily walkable to fine dining & shopping. It's a great hotel in a great city.
- Absolutely beautiful!! The transformation of this historic building into a hotel could not highlight the beautiful features and space any better. ALL the staff were so attentive and also provided a wealth of information. The eclectic collection of artwork throughout was fantastic--we were told it is changed out every two weeks. The bar is alluring, but don't miss having drinks in the courtyard. Having the dining area elevated into the main space--well, it was just stunning (as was the breakfast!). Our room was on the main floor and overlooked a garden area. We loved the spacious bath, the high ceilings, the mix of old and new!
Cons -
- The rooms have character but are a bit small. I was in Room 210 and the ceiling is quite low. The room was also quite warm at night.
- We made a last minute booking & were assigned room #123, directly above their restaurant kitchen. You could smell frying food from the hallway, and the room was unbearable. It's not a viable unit imo unless they can insulate the kitchen ventilation. But we luckily checked in early enough that, despite being fully booked, they could relocate us. Unfortunate for the later arrival stuck with that room.
- We really like and don't mind walking...but if you are looking to be "in the middle of things," this may be a bit of a walk for you. Still...don't miss staying here!

Amazing hotel, great location
At check in staff booked us for dinner at the hotel. When we showed up for dinner, we were told that there is no dinner that day……
An experience by itself this convent turned into a hotel. Great bed, endless art, great breakfast and on top central location with parking
Great locationThe place looks very unique and beautiful full of art everywhere.
The room you choose on booking is not the room you going to get. Its a type and nit getting the room we ordered was disappointing.Breakfast is the same everyday, for 2-3 days it’s fine, but after that keep eating the same is quite hard.
Breakfast was good, great location for us to visit friends
There was plaster debris in the bath and the shampoo bottle holder fell off the wall during the night
Breakfast was a wonderful experience. The kind service in the light of the magnificent windows was momentous and something I will always cherish.
Nothing... but part of me was relieved that the modifications and structures are totally reversible. Such a relief to know. Slightly kitch but thats also cool
Overrated, not worth it.
I booked this hotel expecting a unique and charming experience, given that it’s housed in an old church. Unfortunately, the reality was far from what the hype suggests.First, the rooms—while visually interesting—were incredibly loud. The ventilation system or fans made a constant noise that made it almost impossible to sleep. If you’re a light sleeper, bring noise-canceling headphones or prepare for a rough night.Second, the food was a disaster. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad, expecting something simple and safe. Instead, I was served raw chicken—completely inedible and, frankly, a health hazard. It’s shocking that a hotel of this supposed caliber would allow such a mistake to happen.Overall, the atmosphere might be intriguing, but the comfort, quality, and basic standards fall way short. Definitely not worth the price or the reputation it seems to have. Would not recommend.
The breakfast was outstanding albeit a tad dear. The quality and selection of fresh foods, as well as cooked, made up for that. The attentiveness of staff was delightful.
Nothing not liked!
Very beautiful and central. I loved the artwork. The staff were the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing in any hotel ever.
The room I was in echoed as the bathroom wasn’t closed off at the ceiling from the main room. Showering/running a bath at the same time was noisy.
This was a faultless place to stay and the overall design of the conversion of the former church buildings just adds a special topping. The public spaces are chic and have tasteful art installed, some of which is for sale. The dining area is unique, in my opinion, and worth a visit for a meal even if not staying. Our room was well apportioned, spotless and lacked for nothing. The staff were very attentive and even spotted it was my birthday so gave me cakes as I checked out.
One tiny gripe is the WiFi is not secure so I did not use it. A password protected system surely is a minimum standard to expect.
Nice staff and good service
Didnt like that i booked a room and didnt automatically had a place at the restaurant and have to eat outdoor
Loved the breakfast, room, beds and the extraordinary service. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and felt sad to leave. The staff manages to “slow you down” from the moment you walk in, they recalled which room we stayed at and that we were hotel guests; it was exceptional. The hotel itself is something special and you feel blessed to be allowed to stay here. Would recommend staying here to anyone.
The coffee at the restaurant and breakfast tastes terrible, like Senseo. In my personal opinion at a five star hotel, the coffee should be freshly made by baristas. The nespresso in the hotel room is better. There was a small bin missing at the toilet, which means that if you as a woman have your time of the month, you need to cross the room with a little plastic bag so you can deposit it in the bathroom or bin in the room. It can cause uncomfortable situations.
The building is unique and creates a great atmosphere. Lovely art work inside gives it a modern touch. The service was very attentive and polite. The building is located very central but still in a quiet area. The parking service was great although at extra cost
Rooms were below expectations. Very cold and set at 16 degrees when we arrived, heating and AC were noisy. Bathrooms not clean, especially the shower which was really to some extend disgusting. Equipment was old (e.g. hairdryer). Simply not what you would expect in a 5 star hotel at this price. The design of corse is always rather subjective but we had a giant Mona Lisa wallpaper stretching across the entire wall and staring at us. Breakfast was ok but nothing special, variety of offerings at the buffet could be greater.
Breakfast was a scandal! I never paid in my entire traveling life 40 euros for a breakfast! And never was the quality so poor ! A total scandal….2 types of bread only…a fruit salad that looked not fresh….only orange juice…2 tiny tiny bowls of egg salad that ran out when I was going to get more…everything looked scarce and not fresh….never again….a total rip off
Breakfast!!!!!!
The entire experience was 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️We loved the service, the artwork, the whole ambiance!
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed so we needed to leave the hotel and search for a restaurant.
- Staff very friendly and helpful- Great service- Hotel in an old monastery, simply amazing, great atmosphere- Room tidy with all facilities- Bar and staff fantastic- City center 5 mins walk
- Aircondition a little too noisy
Great staff couldn’t do enough for you. And such a beautiful building
I’m sorry bit overpriced first what you got
Excellent location, beautiful facilities in a renovated monastery.
I was in Room 123 - beautiful room. However, it was contiguous to the Service area of the Restaurant, with a very thin wall separating and very loud until after midnight with Service people having a post-Service party. I called Reception and the person asked them to stop and they did. Understandably, the 1st Service person who came for the breakfast Service arrived at 6 am. It was a lovely room, but difficult for sleeping.
