Fitz Roy Urban Hotel, Bar and Garden

Location was great as we have stayed there before. Last time we also had a junior suite which was on the top floor I believe. The breakfast was great and the staff were attentative. We will glady come back just a different room.

The room 011 smelled a bit "musty" I believe the smell came from the drain and the room was not aired out. We left the windows open for a bit but we were on the ground floor with direct access to the street. The smell was constant throughout our stay. It would be great if you could serve breakfast until 11:30. We noticed many people showing up at 11 and then being turned away. It is unfortunate because the restaurant has a great atmosphere. Also we were disappointed that the restaurant was not open for dinner any more. We really enjoyed our experience there last time.

Excellent location! Very posh and felt comfortable and luxurious. The elevator was very helpful for my mom and the property was just very quaint and comfortable.

Location was close to centre (25 euro taxi ride from station).

Were first assigned small attic but eventually given bigger room. While individually pleasant, staff seemed overstretched. Had to remind to arrange housekeeping on second day. No exhaust fan in bathroom, power sockets difficult to access. No printed information in rooms, just instruction to download app.

The location was perfect, central, and quiet. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Since we were spending time in the city centre, we were also spending time in the room. There was a chair and a backless stool/foot rest at the table. My husband asked for another chair as there were two adults in the room- the response was no we couldn't provide that?? The breakfast was fine and limited. Another option with oatmeal, granola, meusli, yogurt and fruits/nuts could have been a bit more attractive.

Read above for more information. The bed was unacceptable. It was a king size bed, extra long (we didn't need). I slept on the one side with a hollow in the mattress the first night. My husband switched with me for the balance of the time and I ended up sleeping at the bottom half of the other side of the bed.

No restaurant in evening but the breakfast was lovely! Patio room was comfortable with excellent shower. Safe a little small ok for passport not for a laptop or I would think a large mirrorless or SLR camera. Maastricht was lovely, good recommendations from reception staff. Very easy to get bus to and from the main station (just use bank card on and off), used 13 to get there.

parking was good but you had to be careful on some of the streets near the hotel because they were off limits to personal vehicles and could cost you heavy fines. you will end up having to park back behind the hotel in their private parking lot.

The atmosphere of the hotel is really brilliant. Ar least my wife and me are complettly impressed from the relaxed and at the same time exclusive style. But on an easy going kind of way. The location is fantastic, only 5 minutes walk to all relevant sites. At the same time I have to mention, the because of the small size of Maastricht, probably from all hotels down-town it´s onyl a 5 minutes walk. Nevertheless, Fitz Roy Urban Hotel is higly recommended due to the atmosphere, size of the rooms, and friendlieness of the staff.

It is as the hotel name said, Hotel, Bar and Garden! When you entered it, it felt like you stepped into a garden. The interior design is so artistic. We love it very much!

The location

The room is very poorly furnished. There is no flat space to unpack baggage other than the bed and there is no luggage rack. I don't want to put my baggage out of a plane's hold on the bed. The only alternative is lay the baggage on the floor and unpack on my knees. There is virtually no useful storage space. One shelf at the top of the closet. The wall furniture should be thrown out. It takes up space and serves no purpose. The set large wooden squares holding up one small coffee maker is a waste of space. Service is very uneven. I asked for one extra hanger. I was told we don't have any. A hotel without extra hangers? My wife asked what bus to take to the central station. She got an airy wave of the hand "they all go there just go outside ". All busses don't go there as she learned. This hotel has an excess of form over substance. I travel broadly and I won't be back nor would I recommend this hotel to others.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. There was a great atmosphere between all the staff and guests. The bed was huge and very comfy. Breakfast was also great.

The hotel is in a very good location if you want to do tourism. The rooms are confortable and the hotel is charming.

Breakfast was not served as described in the menu, and it was apparent that the person in the kitchen did not receive our special order correctly.

Nice hotel, nice location and very good staff.

It was very narrow room with space for only one bed-side table and the mattress was a bit soft for me.

Pleasant at check in, which is from 1400hrs.Lovely airy , spacious and clean room.Close to centre. Walkable from train station.

We were moved to the Le Theatre from the Fitz Roy because their AC wasn’t working. The Le Theatre room was a good size and well furnished in a great location. There’s an elevator!Many staff were very friendly and we enjoyed speaking with them

Square facing room was so loud early in the mornings, but had a lovely view. No fridge. Carpet needs a clean. Bed not very comfy.
