Boutique Hotel The Roosevelt

The hotel is in a lovely old building. Rooms were clean and quiet. Nice towels and linens. Breakfast was delicious and lots to eat.

We were in a two floor room which we found awkward. The junior deluxe room is not easy to be in.

Beautiful hotel. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast that is served - no buffet. Lovely lounge. Great water pressure in the bathroom.

The courtyard lounge area is loud at night even with the windows closed.

Good sized room and quite comfortable bed

Strange layout of bedroom with windows only in the bathroom. Basins unable to hold water, which ran straight away as plug holes fixed open. Although a lift was advertised in the details did not apply throughout the hotel so we had to move to an annexe.

The room was very clean, breakfast was outstanding, and staff so friendly!

I found it strange that on each of the four nights I was at the hotel I had to request a cup from staff so I could make coffee in my room. Coffee maker and pods were provided.

My room was on the top floor....a total of 60 spjral stairs to climb....and with 2 bags that was a killer.....no help offered and I was only informed about the lift (outside the hotel) when I was leaving .It only goes to the first floor..Fortunately I'm pretty fit for a 72 ye+ar old... They guy on duty when I arrived wasn't exactly friendly. He was more interested in cleaning the bar shelves .....I would recommend that you ask for a first floor room if you don't want a workout!!And ask to use the lift.

The breakfast was really excellent. Location in the centre of Middelburg was very convenient and as we came by train, the hotel was easy to reach by a short walk from the train station.

Room was big. Toilet and bathroom were separate, which normally should be a problem, but they were at the opposite ends of the room. Also the sink was in a separate part of the room. This made the room less comfortable than you would expect from the facilities offered. Staff was not that welcoming.

Didn’t find the front desk to be hospitable. Did not like that the key to the room opened everyone’s room and that someone else entered my room my a key 5 m after I entered my room. As you can imagine I didn’t sleep well w worry it someone else entering while sleeping

Window above the bed was close to another window of another building. Small concern about privacy ?

Location is great.

Breakfast was underwhelming. First night the room was freezing. Second night was a bit better but still cold.

A really cozy and intimate hotel. We were well looked after and right from the start of my dealings with the hotel staff I sensed a positive attitude that ensured for a stress-free stay. The hotel staff were really efficient and friendly, As we were working up until old-year's eve, I left plans to go away till the last moment. I searched for something interesting and found the last available rooms to spend old-year's eve. Our experience surpassed our expectations.

No daily cleaning and renewal of towels. Might have been an oversight.

Lovely breakfast room at the front of the hotel. The food was fresh and delicious. The Hotel was in the centre of town easy walking distance to the town square.

Outstanding location in the center of Middelburg, beautiful boutique hotel with smiling service, outstanding breakfast, quiet and clean rooms....my reference point in Middelburg!

The room that has 2 floors are not suitable for people with limited mobility and small children. The stair is very steep. The lamps were not dusted.

Very comfortable bed and quiet at this time of year as no-one was on the terrace in the evening. Very well appointed bathroom with superb bath. Excellent coffee.

A lovely breakfast became very predictable after 5 days. A bit of variety in the cooked content would be good.A heated towel rail in the bathroom would be useful and would also help with reducing the need for towel changes (no-one likes wet towels!).The lighting in the bedroom was rather gloomy.

Large appartment with terrace and in the middle of the centrum

Unfortunately, housekeeping could not speak English, German and/or Dutch, therefore the room was not cleaned ?

Friendly staff , made us feel very welcome. Nice bar area and a good breakfast.

- Both Hand soap and shower gel were run out and were not recharged, we had to shower without soap- Staff was very busy and as a consequence quite hasty- Stairs inside the room were very steep and during the night it was difficult to go the toilet downstairs, pictures of the room do not show them- Room was not very clean and there spiderwebs on the bed light- In general quite expensive for the overall service and room facilities (from a 4 stars you wouldn’t expect the above points or also a cheap brand coffee machine in the room)
