Pros +
- Very well maintained and pretty accomodation. Everything was spotless, clean and in one piece. The location was excellent being in the middle of the city center. I rented the two bedroom apartment and was very happy with the space available. Beds were good and the shower acceptable.
- The location was just perfect, easy to walk around Alkmaar Centrum and explore, find good places to have coffee and food. Sophie, one of the owners, was simply the nicest person, chatting with us, assisting with luggage, giving us a map and pointing out where we should go. The beds were so comfortable, and the very large dining table was perfect for spreading out computers and food/drink. I'm a little sad we only got to spend one night there (emergency booking because of an error I'd made in Airbnb reservations), but I would most certainly return for a longer period of time on my next trip.
- First of all, the communication with Sophie was top-notch! She was very attentive and accommodating to our special requests including a slightly earlier check-in, bike storage and a place to leave our things after check-out. She met us upon arrival and gave us many helpful tips. Our stay in Alkmaar and bike rides in the surrounding area were easily one of the top highlights of our trip. The apartment was very large, clean & comfortable for our group of 4. We loved the huge dining table, TV area, large windows and especially the roof-top deck. The kitchen was well-stocked. There are many great restaurants and a great bakery (Bakkerij Beerse) within walking distance. There is also a large grocery store just around the corner and the cheese market is a 5 minute walk. It was also great to have 2 separated bedrooms and bathrooms.
Cons -
- Though the location was excellent, it being next to the "Grote kerk" was not so nice. I live next to a church myself and am quite familiar with the bells going every half and full hour, but why, for the love of God, does Alkmaar play a freaking MELODY every 12-ish minutes during the FULL NIGHT?! How dare they. Kept me up all night as I prefer sleeping with fresh air and open windows... For that reason alone I will not book this accommodation again.
- We liked everything, except maybe the outdoor metal stairs up to the second floor in the rain, but thankfully Sophie easily carried luggage up those stairs for us. She's so strong!
- The views were all interior which was a bit of a bummer, but they still brought in lots of light. The twin beds were a little too soft for us and the sea gulls were very noisy - not allowing us to keep the windows open when we needed to sleep.

We were met by Catherine when we arrived, and due to both her personality and the facilities there was instant rapport. We appreciated (for a two-bedroom apartment) the spacious rooms and the second toilet. The small courtyard and roof space was an extra that unfortunately we did not have time to use.
Well, it's the Netherlands, so expect to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs.
Perfect location, real dutch experiance. Very kind lady, helpful. She cleaned our room each day.
Location was ideal- central and convenient for shopping and sight seeing
Nothing really- was a happy stay
Lovely, spacious apartment right in the city centre. Friendly, helpful hosts with excellent communication
Odd dimmer light switch when entering the property

Nothing to dislike
Really helpful and friendly staff. Received contact by WhatsApp before stay. Great location, very central and close to everything you need. Apartment was spacious and comfortable and everything was in very good condition.
Very welcoming staff, clean comfortable room.
General access, Tea / coffee provided - only fruit teas - no sugar or creamer
The location and mainly the room (with a view): excellent. Booking .com mentionned a "dining table". It is in fact a high sitting table. We asked for two bords . We got two dessert bords. Very friendly.
My wife found that the stairs were steep. But we managed. It was more a reamark than a complaint.
Excellent location, common spaces are fantastic and every room is fully furnished with every comfort.
The checkout was a little bit early.
I liked the luxe smart TV'S. I originally wanted to take my date to the movies but since the only nice movie was playing at 22:00 (and I needed to drive for 2 hours to get there) I figured we might as well grab a hotel room with a good TV and just watch movies there. I looked over various options (especially cheaper ones) but didn't find anything else that fit what I was looking for. Most cheaper rooms didn't have smart TV'S, had small ones or just weren't clear in regards of what you could do on them etc.The room offered streaming services including logged in accounts which was a nice surprise since it meant we didn't have to fiddle around with our own accounts. The beds where nice, the shower was luxurious and small little things like shampoo and towels were already there. Everything was clean as well.
There was some noise, not sure whether it was the pipes or something else but it was a little annoying, it however didn't pop up often so it didn't interrupt our movie time or keep us awake. The floor of the bathroom was really cold, I recommend putting a bigger carpet or something of the like on it.Parking cost us an additional 20 eur which I think is pricy since the hotel itself was already 120. Besides all of this, the experience was amazing.
Nice location. Spacious apartments/rooms
First communication via Booking.com saw no response. Second one did.I wouldn't call it a Hotel per se.
The host was very nice . The apartment is big and clean. Stayed with 4 friends for one night. Parking spot was also available for us.
Lovely room very centrally located in town, within an easy walking distance to the train station and all sites around Alkmaar. The room was nicely furnished and very clean, with a modern bathroom and furnishings. Staff were friendly and no issues checking in or out. Note that the steps to access most of the rooms are quite steep but this was not an issue for us. Overall we had a nice stay and would happily stay again.
Sophie and her family did an excellent job all around. The studio was immaculately clean, newly renovated, and tastefully decorated. Sofie was always available for questions or suggestions on where to eat, drink and enjoy all aspects of the Dutch culture in Alkmaar. If you want quiet you will definitely have it. The hotel is located on a side street where there isn’t a lot of noise. I would definitely stay there again.
The hosts were exceptional. They made my unexpected stay in The Netherlands (due to air travel cancellations from the summer IT system failure) an enjoyable experience.
Fantastic location, a nice studio, and very kind people. Much appreciated for your service.
