Hotel Neptunus

The hotel is not far from the Dunes area and extensive cycle paths and walks. Our room was a good size with a recently refurbished bathroom a separate area with storage, a fridge and a chair. The bed was comfortable and the room spotlessly clean. Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection of items on offer. The town with its restaurants and bars is a 10 minute stroll away as is the amazing beach.

The hotel is quite noisy - mainly because of the hard flooring and wooden stairs. In our room which was downstairs we were very aware of other guests coming and going. This was not a huge problem for an out of season stay but might be an issue at busier times. All parking in Egmond aan Zee is charged by the day and not allocated. We parked easily but in busy periods with so much holiday accommodation this might be more tricky.

The room, the bed and breakfast were good.

The noise in the building was loud. Doors, loud guests and high heals were very good to hear.The reception was not customer friendly: I paid the room via Booking.com but the Hotel did not get a confirmation.Booking confirmed that I paid but could not contact the hotel. Then I had to pay twice and ask the money back via Booking.com.

Good location, the dunes right around the corner. And city center in 5 mins walk distance. Nice room, had first floor with view to the ascending sun. Great! Breakfast boring, not very creative. No scrambled eggs, only cooked eggs. Best thing were the fresh baked croissants.

The doors were extremely difficult to close quietly, so there was a lot of door banging, especially in the evening and morning. Walls were thin, you hear neighbors and their TV. But they respected quiet hours from 10pm on.

Easy location, close to the beach front - walking distance, and walking distance into and out of the town. Staff were kind, and breakfast offered sufficient.

Clean, well located hotel with good breakfast. Expect to check in in a different Hotel down the road - but without any issues. Staff there was very friendly.

The rooms are not isolated too well for sound - you can hear your neighbours talking

Smaller hotel, nice atmosphere

Breakfast can be ‚improved‘.As everything is really good but every day exactly the same (but to also say the positive…you get fresh fruits) and for us a bit of a pity that you can not even order some eggs (kitchen is there, eggs were there, a pan was there,…) but not possible (even after asking) to get for example some scrambled eggs or an omelette. A bit difficult to understand.
