ANEW Hotel Hilton Pietermaritzburg

The gym was outstanding and honestly the main reason I booked. So many hotels advertise a “gym” that turns out to be just a treadmill or two, but this one was properly equipped with barbells, dumbbells, a squat rack, and everything you need for real training. It made a huge difference to my stay.I also loved the overall charm of the property. The black-and-white checkered floors, good-quality pillows with many options to choose from, and thoughtful design details made it feel stylish and welcoming. You could tell that no expense was spared in making the space comfortable and well considered.

The music made noise all night we could not sleep even though the guest info said quite time from 10pm

the service was exceptional, the room was clean, breakfast was great

the dinner menu was 80 percent unavailable, the bar's on tap beers were finished.

The architecture, the rooms, the cleanliness.

Our room was wonderful and very very comfortable.The staff when we had drinks and some grub were absolutely fantastic.

Had to wait quite a while to be checked in as both people seemed to be checking in a groupBoth meals we ordered had run out! Sad that there is no on site chef

A wonderful place for the family to go for a holiday. Far from the hustle and bustle of the city. Friendly staff, tasty food, tranquil setting, clean and comfortable rooms .

Lacks adequate facilities to keep the younger ones occupied for a sufficient period of time. Some parts of the establishment need renovations to keep up with the times .

Classy accommodation and general areas. Good and friendly service. Good food options. Luxurious feel. Good position for a stop over.

Breakfast was average — what you expect from a hotel buffet! The restaurant staff at breakfast were unfriendly. By contrast the bar staff were excellent.

The evening ala carte meal was not well done - the chicken my wife had was dry.

Disappointing

I could every tap being opened and toilet being flushed. Power went out on both nights. Breakfast room started playing music before 6am. Speakers are also in the courtyard which my room overlooks and I had to tell reception it’s too loud and before 6am on a Sunday. Not enjoyable at all

Well worth it...always neat & tidy

They need to change the bathroom sink mixers. They are old & loose. The need to put a mixer, instead of two seperate taps.

the rooms are very nice, the restaurant serves very good food.

The buffet for dinner was okay, but I prefer the a la carte menu, which is much better than the buffet.

The room was spacious. The hotel is very pretty.

The aircon was not working.

Proximity to the shopping cetre and the its charm.

Guests were swimming at 07:30 in the morming on Sunday and making a LOT of noise. Right next to my room.

They gave a bar fridge on request at no extra cost

The windows are not opening widely for a full view of the outside, DSTv has limited channels

Stylish and staff at reception friendly

The service was very slow at the pool deck

Aesthetically pretty outside and the downstairs entrance, reception and bar area.

Air-conditioning wasn’t workingRoom was hot and stuffyCeiling fan was about to fly off the ceiling so we couldn’t switch it on without fear of it coming off.Complained and we were brought two fans which didn’t help much. The shower was awful. Hope above the shower head in the ceiling and the water pressure was not good and shower made a noise. Not worth the R2500 a night with no breakfast included. Tea coffee was stocked with one tiny milk triangle each Luckily we only booked one night.

Friendly staff providing great service

The room we were given had a noisy airconditioner - not the first time this has happened either. However, once we notified reception, we were reassigned to another quieter room within minutes ☺️

Friendly staff they can't do enough for you. Nice big rooms with bath and walk in shower. Throughly enjoyable stay
