Hotel Stadt Hannover

Im not new in this hotel, is my first option when I stay in Göttingen, pretty convenient when you have an early train or a bus during the morning.

I stayed in Hotel Stadt Hannover several times already. Is my first option when I need to stay in Göttingen city center. Also if my family is visiting me, we dont think twice, this is our option. The staff is super friendly, they are very helpful in case that you came with a lot of luggage for example. The breakfast feels like home in separated round tables, and you can enjoy your own coffee urn, those little details make the difference. For me as a scientist this is a perfect place to stay in Göttingen if you need to do some work or just want to chill in a central location. Bonus: is just steps from the train station.

I mean, is not a modern hotel, which is ok, but you need to consider that, in case that you expect the last technology tools, maybe this is not the location for a technology freak.

I really liked the hotel’s excellent location in the center of Göttingen. It is just a few steps from the train station and within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and main attractions, which made getting around very easy and convenient.

Very friendly and helpful people at the reception, especially I would like to mention Abdul. Location was ok, room updated and equipped. No a/C which could be a problem in summer time. Luckily I could open the window and it was cool at night.

No kettle in the room, though a complementary bottle of water was there.

Good location near the train station. Clean and ample room, well decorated. It even had a sofa. Nice old building, with a lot of story behind. The personnel was super friendly.

The elevator was broken, and apparently it has been like that for a while. Breakfast was plain, not many options. There was no coffee maker in the room, nor a mini fridge. The bed was not comfortable at all.

Nice old and personal hotel, central and still quiet. Breakfast was good and coffee free. Friendly staff spoke at least some English.

There was a lot of problems with the lift and one night the fire alarm went off. My room was fine but quite small and with a strange fire escape stairway outside the window.

Near the central station and near the university, late check-in possible, a good breakfast.

No kettle in the room, the bed in right under the window, an old window, problems with lighting in the bathroom (it flickers) and in the hall (it is dim), the lift did not work. Everything is old and requires a renovation. One expects more effort for the price they charge.

The lift was in reperation when I came. Carrying up the luggage was a bit hard. Hopefully this was an exception.

Quietness

The room was spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast had a nice variety of options. Easy to get to from the station and close to the town centre.

The room was a little cold. Luckily there was a second duvet that I could use at night to keep warm.

The room was extremely spacious, with a big sofa! Our dog liked the carpeted floor, very comfy for her to rest on. It was equally close to the station as it was to the center, since we were only there for one night to meet with friends that was perfect for us.

The hotel is very central, on the street between the main train station and the historical city center, close to many cafés and bars. I found it very pleasant and quiet during the night. I had a wonderful room, with a nice little extra table and two comfortable chairs in the corner of the house, with views to two sides. I didn't want to have breakfast, but I found the staff very friendly and helpful. I spent 2 nights as a business traveler in October 2024.

There was nothing I didn't like.

Lift temporarily out of order.

This is a nice three-star family hotel from 1919, well-preserved and modernized to contemporary standards. As such it has no air conditioning which might be fine except during my stay when there were the hottest days, with temperatures ranging around 30 degrees Celsius. Fortunately, my room was on the second floor, facing north and the nights were not so hot. The room was spacious, with reasonable equipment (no mini fridge, as in similar hotels), and a nice bathroom. Breakfast was surprisingly rich, better than I expected, with a good choice of various items, like scrambled eggs and bacon, cheese, salam, vegetables, fruits, yogurts, juices, pies, etc. Wifi signal all over the hotel. There are nice people in the lobby and breakfast bar. The hotel finds itself in short walking distance from the railway station and university buildings.

Everything was OK. A vending machine with cold beverages, cakes, and other suitable items would be appreciated by guests.

Stadt Hannover is a traditional hotel. Perhaps a little old fashioned but very well maintained. The rooms are a comfortable size with good bathrooms. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We hadn't booked a parking place, but were able to find a space on the quiet street in front of the hotel. Very centrally located for the city centre but also close to the main station.

The room was spacious, the staff really friendly and helpful and the breakfasts delicious. It was also located an easy walk from the station and near all the main attractions.

The breakfast was exceptional. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The rooms were individual and well laid-out - not at all corporate.

It's a nice hotel. The decoration makes you feel like you stepped into the past, but in a good way. All the accommodations were great.The breakfast was really good for the price.

It wasn't a big ussue for me but you should know that it's required to leave your key at the reception everytime you leave the hotel.They do have a small safe in the room and the reception is open 24/7.
