Pros +
- It is clean and good food.
- Very nice hotel near Deva. Very clean and all rooms have very interesting design. Extremely polite staff and great surroundings. Very good restaurant with amazing food.
- The Conacul is not just a wonderful hotel, but a real mansion with a pool, gardens and horse-riding activities. The rooms don't have numbers, but names and each has a unique style - it was very interesting to experience. The owners were very hospitable and we had a really nice stay. We visited in December and I guess visiting in spring/summer would be even nicer.
Cons -
- No complimentary water.
- Nothing, everything was excellent.
- The AC unit in my room was leaking so we had to report that. Guess that's something fixed by now.The pool-side bar tables had umbrellas where there were some wasps nests, which hopefully has been fixed Some amenities in the room need to be fixed (like a leaky shower and a bed insulation that made the bathroom wet when showering, these are minor details but since this is a premium location this becomes important.

The hotel lobby, reception, and hallways are quite impressive. It's a very trendy location, so lots of local and national celebrities stay there and this is advertised in the lobby, lots of celebrities pics on the walls. Each room has its own design (we've stayed in the Trees Room) and are quite nice. Large enough for a 2+1 family. Nice decorated. Quite a nice exterior pool (large, well maintained) and good sunbeds. The restaurant is expensive but a nice experience, selected dishes well prepared and a cool selection of wines. Probably the strongest point of our stay here was the dinner we've had.f you're into it, there's a nice ridding facility with trainers and very cool horses. In all, a premium experience at a premium price, I recommend it.

Comfortable bed. Good shower pressure and temperature. Hotel grounds are very pleasant. Big - too big- portion sizes in restaurant. Excellent ciorba with mushrooms. Good wine. Quiet area but rapidly being developed.
I chose this hotel to enjoy a bit of luxury. It was very, very disappointing.Arrival - very dirty doormat. No lift.Check in - receptionist scruffily dressed. She wrote the wifi details on a sheet of paper on the back of which were photocopies of three id cards. Data protection?Room - dark and cramped under the roof. Shower had no means to hold the shower nozzle. Bathroom very small. Bath towel small and thin. Do not go for a room on the top floor especially if you are tall. Carpet stained (bleach?). Broken radiator thermostat. The washstand in the bathroom was badly rusted and corroded with rust flaking off it in large pieces. Poor TV signal.Restaurant - night one - no duck available, night two - no fish available. I love papanaşi but the ones I had were so heavy, like large stodgy golf balls. Stop trying to be clever, just make good papanaşi the traditional way.Breakfast - uninspiring and uninspired buffet on the first morning. On the second morning there was no buffet but breakfast à la carte - I assume because there were so few people staying. I ordered muesli, toast snd croissants. For the muesli the waiter brought a bowl of raw porridge oats! No fruit, no nuts! I am not a horse. I told him it was not muesli. He said that was all they had. A few minutes later he came back with a bowl of real muesli.I appreciate that Romania has problems recruiting staff in HORECA but if you employ foreign staff with poor language skills - both English and Romanian - as well as little HORECA experience then you need to train them intensively. The muesli incident is a clear case of lack of knowledge and training.
Passable
It is a bit worn down and for the price per night it doesn’t live up to the standards. Beds are not comfortable. There is no beautiful view. The photos and marketing for this hotel are amazing, because on the spot nothing looks like in the pictures
Beautiful area outside the city. Green. Quiet. Large pool outside. Beautiful garden and surroundings. The rooms with painted furniture, all different with flowers themes. Very good breakfast and food at the restaurant.
Amazing horse trainer, location and food
One of the ladies at the reception was a bit off - she was smoking and didn’t seem to be interested in speaking English :(
It's a very nice hotel, nicely decorated and in the direction of the name (Conac). Lovely rooms. Swimming pool area very nice, nice service, the boys working there were very profesional, smiling and knowing how to do their job. Nice cocktails. Great breakfast, lovely breakfast room.
The girl at the reception.. When we found out that there is no elevator, she told us that we have to carry the big suitcases upstairs ourselves. At the checkout, we have found out that the hotel offers help for the suitcases (we are on a trip of three weeks. Our suitcases are pretty big.) Also the 'good morning', 'have a nice day' was not happening even though we were passing next to her to breakfast or to leave the hotel. The shower.. We had two rooms : room number one didnt have a place to hang the shower.. So we had to keep it in the hand while showering. Room number two had one but was not holding the shower, so the water was going against the wall. The pillows.. I know that a pillow is a personal thing, but we were 4 with the same problem. Too small, too soft, not fitting with the rigidity of the bed.
The personel was beyond helpfull, gorgeous rooms, great location, peacefull and relaxing.
Great location, very nice place and a lot of activities to be done on the property: tenis, horseback riding, mini golf, there is a pool and a sauna. Also Deva city is really close to the property if you like more activities.

Rooms are good, the whole hotel has this rustic/ classic feel that works nicely.Close to other attractions.
The restaurant not very nice, and the breakfast is upon order, not buffet.
Dinner was very good, the ‘a la carte’ menu contains a proper meal variety. Breakfast was good, with fresh pastry and a very good coffee
The matress and pillows could be better. Entire location is very nice and is visible that the owner pay more attention on hotel/restaurant details, so better quality for matresses and pillows are the only things are missing for me to say that this location is PERFECT ?
Foreign staff was the only ones who smiles in that location !
We didn’t liked the location, the food ,the room and the staff in the reception !Location is lacking nature ,trees or view.Food in the restaurant was a huge disappointment ( ordering a ribeye ) the meat was impossible to chew and we got it well done instead of rare .Room was on the second floor -on the attic ,where walls are oblique and takes half of the space .Was incredible warm and the air conditioning was barely working.Beds and pillows have zero quality ,made of polyester.TV was not working and the gentleman I talked at reception about the problem told me : “ yes we know about the issue “ no initiative to help with this issue. Therefore nothing was fixed .I asked for an extra bed (charged) in the morning and by 8 PM was not installed .Not to mention the huge nest of spiders that we had to remove!!!!!
Great place to relax, the owners are friendly, the staff professional, rooms sparkling clean, the food is delicious and the pool is fantastic. The interior design of the building was the cherry on the top.We loved it so much that we extended our stay by 1 night. We recommend it to anyone!
by far the best place to stay when visiting Deva. excellent food & service and surrounded by pure nature.
The hotel is really high class. Velvet pillows and curtains. Every room in a different style. Our room was English style and was really very nice and cosy. Parking big. Location outside of town, not too far. There is a swimming pool, stables with horses and probably other stuff that we sadly didn't have time to explore. Staff helpful and friendly.
In the bathroom, the water drips from the bathtub to the floor because there is no inclination. But, you have 6 towels and you can just put the towel on the floor...
glitzy, modern take on a traditional manor. lots of green, horses.
-room smelled like toilet (number 2!!)-from 1 am to 4 am we were treated to a loud party (all men, bad, loud music). went to reception twice, threatened to call the police. No change. - waited 40 minutes for two coffees - indifferent, "too busy to look at you" young lady at reception. didn't even got a hello.
Great location, excellent room and food quality and very nice people.
nothing to mention
Friendly welcoming staff and such a great welcome from the owner.
Really special place with lots of family history. Made tofeel so welcome.
