Pros +
- Spacious, very clean, very nice furnishings
- Historic hotel
- We recently stayed at Best Western Weimar and overall had a pleasant experience. The strongest point of this hotel is definitely the staff — everyone was very friendly and approachable. Even during the low season, when the hotel was relatively quiet, staff members were always available whenever we needed assistance. The room was clean and had a charming, vintage, classical atmosphere. I especially appreciated how the hotel preserves its historical character through its decoration and style. The location is also very convenient, making it easy to explore the city center. Although we did not try the restaurant or room service during our stay (as some services were limited in the low season), the café downstairs served tasty cakes, and the hotel is very pet-friendly, which we truly appreciated.
Cons -
- There were, however, a few downsides. The room was quite cold, and even after running the heating for a long time, it never became properly warm. We had to use a small portable heater, which, unfortunately, was rather noisy. On the second morning, a maintenance staff member attempted to enter our room to investigate a reported water leak downstairs and questioned whether we had used excessive water in the guest toilet. This led to an uncomfortable situation and a verbal disagreement, after which we asked him to leave — an unusual and unpleasant experience.Parking in the city center is also not easy. The hotel offers valet parking at €25 per day, which felt a little more expensive compared to similar cities.Despite these issues, the service quality and the friendliness of the staff left a positive overall impression.
- That I couldn't have stayed longer.

Simply one of the best hotels around. I enjoyed the subtle flex of the Franz Liszt association as it was Liszt who promoted the names of Goethe and Schiller after they had become forgotten in the mid 1800s. The historic hotel is extremely comfortable in every respect, the food was superb. There were one or two celebrities who were fellow guests during my stay - so it's definitely the right place to be!
That I couldn't have stayed longer.
Excellent location, right in the middle of a beautiful city with everything being at an arm's length. The room was also excellent, good size, well decorated and a good sized bathroom too.
Relatively expensive in high season
Everything was first class quality. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is a bit too expensive
Clean and quiet, comfortable room equipped with literally everything you might need. Hot shower, comfortable bed, free upgrade to spacious "historical room". Good location close to everything, bus stop in front of the building, museums, restaurants and cafés a few steps away.I really appreciated so many details that showed a lot of thoughtfulness and that people care for the guest's well-being:Make-up mirror in the bath, umbrella in the cupboard, nice choice of tea and coffee, tampons in case you might need them, slippers in different sizes, bath robes, enough hangers, place to put your towel in the bathroom
Wifi was not alway reliable
Everything. For its price range, the hotel provides a very comfortable stay with an extraordinary breakfast buffet. The rooms are comfy and well equipped. Staff is very friendly and attentive.
The fitness room is very small with almost no free weights.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The valet drivers were very professional. The hotel is in a central and beautiful location. Would stay again.
The price of breakfast for one person is a bit steep, but we never ordered it, so maybe it is worth it.
The room is very good, with a lot of space and good quality furniture. The breakfast has good quality, many options and first quality porcelain and cutlery.
Hotel was very well situated and certainly leant towards the 'upper' range of hotels.A bath was most welcome, rather than just a shower.!The buffet breakfast was excellent but there is no day/evening restaurant currently.Valet car service was a nice touch too.
We asked for and booked a large double room but we're given a twin. Disappointing but having travelled all day, we were too shattered to ask to swap.

Great location and facilities. Friendly staff.
Fantastic breakfast- fresh, great value and staff were pleasant. Location is perfect for anyone visiting Weimar.
Room was a modest size. Shower was great though and the facilities were all very clean.
Breakfast was great. Room was great. Location was great. Personnel was friendly.
Central location, close to everything. Nice environment and the staff was very friendly.
Nothing not to like. We did not have breakfast there as we found it rather expensive.
Excellent location 5 minute walk to old market square
Restaurant was closed indefinitely, but several excellent restaurants within 5 minute walk
Excellent historic hotel right in the heart of beautiful Weimar
This is the most elegant vest western I have ever stayed at and rivals much more expensive luxury hotels in Germany. Everything was more than expected—the room, the hotel staff, the eating areas (the bar complete with bistro menu and delicious cakes) and amenities. And unlike some other hotels we stayed at on our 2 week road trip in Bermany, the wifi was stable and worked without a glitch. It is right on the main plaza in Weinar and we also got parking there (maybe off season and weekday helped). Highly recommend.
nothing I can think of at all
I have been to Weimar several times, so I have tried both smaller and larger hotels in this beautiful city. I always look for a hotel that is in the center, but at the same time quiet, which means that it does not have windows to a busy street. The Best Western Premier Grand Russischer Hof completely exceeded all my expectations! The hotel is right in the center, I stayed in a room that has windows to a side street, so it was absolutely quiet. The room had a very comfortable bed, a beautiful bathtub and was generally beautifully equipped. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Of all the hotels I have tried in Weimar, this one is definitely the best. In the others, I was bothered by the noise or not very professional staff or the room was nice but had little storage space. I am very glad that I discovered this gem among hotels!
Everything was absolutely perfect! So the only "problem"? I have to leave Weimar, but for sure I will come back soon!
