Very beautiful hotel interior, breakfast superb, location exceptional, own private outdoor carpark!

Location was excellent right in the heart of the city. It was very quiet. It was approximately 1.5 kms from the train station. There were lovely seating areas in the hotel. The staff were excellent - professional and extremely helpful addressing all of our requests.

Friendly staff, cleanliness top, breakfast ok.

Unfortunately the heating system is - as it always seems to be - too complicated to operate. Turning fan off is too complicated, and still the room’s heating was on. Room was way too warm during night. Mattresses were too hard; not comfortable.Room underwhelming for the price. Triste view of inner courtyard.

Such a beautiful hotel in the city centre. Wonderful room, great food, amazing architectural details. It feels like going back in time to Bauhaus/Jugendstil era. Just wonderful!

Everything was great.

I was especially pleased with the 4-star experience. It was very centrally located. The breakfasts were excellent. Very high class. I was treated very well. The hotels history was interesting. I had a great view of the local square.

Small room size (no 109/111); water bottle was not renewed the 2nd day; no bluetooth speaker to listen to music; we had several drinks in the bar but no nuts or similar were served.

Phantastic old style Grand Hotel atmosphere

The Junior Suite we had booked was just a larger room. No desk. No seating corner. View on the car park. We definetly paid way too much for that

This is a wonderful location right next to the town Square. The hotel has been wonderfully renovated. We also visited here in 1986 when it was still under communist rule and it is quite a change. Parking was very convenient.

A splendid place to stay in the center of Weimar. Excellent staff and accommodations. Breakfasts in the garden were particularly memorable.

The popular music for a historic hotel in a historic city was a annoying and a real disappointment.Our original room was big and well appointed but had a view of a light shaft which was depressing.Ask for a garden view or a town square view.

Location is great, and the overall historic ambience of the square where the hotel is. Breakfast is very good, but nothing special. Beds/bathrooms are comfortable.

In general, this is not what you expect. Elephant used to be a historic, very special hotel, really a highlight of Weimar. This was the case for decades, and this was the best memory from our stay there in 2010. This year it was different. The hotel was extended beyond any reasonable limits, its historic part got lost in the renovated building, and it turned in just another faceless Marriott chain-hotel, with endless confusing corridors and crowds of guests. It is also clearly understaffed, reception and concierges being unable to cope with the quests' requests and enquiries
