About
This classical style villa enjoys a quiet green location on the outskirts of Weimar’s historic center, within easy walking distance of the city’s world-famous cultural attractions. Come and enjoy a memorable stay in the historical 19th-century Villa Hentzel from the year 1873 which was home to intellectual giants such as Rudolf Steiner and also hosted the Chilean Embassy. Breakfast is offered at Hotel Villa Hentzel each morning. The intimate, bright rooms are ideal for relaxing at the start of a full day of sightseeing. The Villa is just a short stroll from Goethe’s garden house, numerous museums, and the peaceful Ilmpark.

Pros +
- Very friendly staff in a small team. They tried their best to keep everything intact and tidy. The room was as described and the bathroom as well. The hotel has its charme, sadly for a villa there were no old furniture or pictures. They had (hidden) picture books though. The area is quiet and close to the Old Town and bus stations.
- The location was good. Otherwise nothing else.

Cons -
- Not so convinced about the breakfast. It was tasty but I guess it always the same. Maybe because of the season. The shower faucet interrupted the showering from time to time due to a collapse.
- I recently booked an overnight stay at this hotel. Unfortunately, I had to cancel and change my plans due to the level of unfriendliness I experienced at this establishment.Upon my arrival, I was greeted at the door by being asked "what do you want here ?".I initially found this to be odd, but tried not to make too much out of it.Once I was "let in", I was treated in a generally cold manner, to the point where I indicated to the lady at the reception that I would like to be treated in a friendlier manner. Her response to this was along the lines of, she had a lot to do, and that my request for friendliness was not at the top of her priorities. Upon which, I requested to cancel my booking and leave.I can't rate the room as I never got to actually see my room, but I believe friendliness and respect is a minimum for a paying customer.
- I did not like that staff finds difficult to communicate in English and I did not understand why I was deprived breakfast the last day before checking out

Nice surprise of this "old time" hotel. The feeling of feeling hosted in a more than hundred house is pleasant. The discover of the city as also great as the villa is a 10mn walk from the charming city center.
Great location within walking distance of downtown. Room are nice, clean and comfortable. I was a little nervous about the check-in because reception is not always open and we were provided with a code for the keyboard. But everything went well.
Beautiful building, fantastic room (Junior Suite), parking on property, excellent breakfast & super friendly staff - definitely 10 out of 10!
Good location, clean, easy access
Very hard mattress, flat, unsupportive pillow, carpet, a bit funny smell in the room.

Nicely located in a quiet street, close to the famous park and for walking to the old center..Friendly team.Good breakfast.
Nothing to complain.
A villa with style,we had the room with the balcony, and very lovely it was too,and the closeness to the town
Nice place to stay with a dog when there is a park nearby. It was great to have a breakfast at the balcony.
Location Room size
There was no hot water for one night Windows have no shades
The building is very beautiful and interior design is very tasteful.
Shower is tiny. Toilet is too close to the shower cubicle.
Room was spacious, stylish and clean. Breakfast was good.
They notified me at the last minute that I had to make self check in ... message that I didn't get, because my battery died before ... so we had to improvise after 13 hours of trip, when we found the doors closed.Bathroom is small. Both shower and wc were not comfortable to use. Internet was relatively slow. Location is not the best option for Wiemar.
This is a lovely and comfortable hotel. It was close to the city centre. It was easy electronic check in. Breakfast was wonderful.
A bit far from the train station but ideal for people with cars as had its own car park.
The room and balcony were elegant and relaxing. Very clean; beautifully furnished. Lovely plants. Very quiet. The location was a pleasant walk from the more interesting things to see in Weimar. Breakfast was a delight, in a lovely location, again beautifully furnished area with a great choice of items.
It would have been great to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room; also a mini-fridge.
Bad
I was very bad treated by the service. They don´t treat foreginers good at all. After not finding anyone at Reception for a while, I left the keys at the counter and asked the Bank details to pay the stay via bank transfer, as I needed to leave quickly. I got a response that they would call the police if I don´t go back within 30 minutes to pay it in person, to whom I said I could only do a couple of hours later. They didn´t accepted and called me many times threatening to call the police and being extremely unpolite and aggressive.
This hotel is unique, not only because of the beautiful villa it is located in but also because of the hosts attention to detail. The breakfast is served in vintage china and everything is offered in such a way that there is no food wasted. That was the best thing. The whole place is incredibly cozy and it feels like home. Our room was very very beautifully decorated, in pale pink and with lovely lighing. There were books and magazines everywhere to read. The bathroom was also very good.
After the original booking in Villa Hentzel was cancelled due to non-availability of staff, the new (alternative) booking was Hotel Liszt. Great location, close to downtown. Spacious rooms. OK breakfast, have seen better ones in such category and priced hotels.
Had to pay € 40 for using the parking for 1 car and our small business trailer although the garage wasn't fully occupied. After receiving a cancellation for our original booking we would have expected a bit more tolerance.
Spacious, high-ceiling rooms and breakfast room and good breakfast, convenient street parking in pleasant neighbourhood near Weimar centre.
Beds groaned a bit - new mattresses wouldn't have gone amiss; ten inch step from shower to bathroom floor in narrow bathroom was hazardous and grab rails should be fitted.
