Pros +
- The people were exceptional and so good to me. The dinner was very fast coming out and the risotto with chestnuts and vegetables and the best. Breakfast was abundant and lots of variety also the beds were sooo comfortable. They were very accommodating to my cat.
- It was clean
- Very nice hotel close to Basel - warm welcome - comfortable beds - large rooms - nice dinner at the hotel 's restaurant - great breakfast with plenty of options [ including home made yoghurt, gluten free bread, fruit and vegetable]. Quiet rooms and parking available in the back of the hotel.
Cons -
- The stairs were a bit difficult although I had help getting my bags up to the room I had to bring them down myself in the morning.
- A bit outdated and noisy
- Not great WIFI, which was frustrating for our "IT" son. Our shower drained soooooooo slowly. We actually had to turn the water off during our shower to not flood the kitchen. There was no coffee for the maker the first morning, but the staff member in the kitchen gave me a thermos of coffee for my husband and I. The lights next to the bed in the first bedroom were insufficient for reading in bed, however; there was a lamp that I could have moved to that location.

We had a deluxe suite it had two king beds which were very comfortable. Two bathrooms which was lovely since we traveled with our adult son. We ate in the restaurant the first evening which had a small menu, but very good food and wine choices. Quite location, very friendly staff. Loads of natural sunlight and huge kitchen, albeit no cooking equipment. Plenty of parking in lot located to the rear of the property.

The restaurant was really nice and onsite. The hotel was charming and had parking.
The amenities said air conditioning was in the rooms. But that was not true for ll the rooms which was misleading. We had a suite which included two bathrooms, yet in one of the bathrooms the shower was unusable and the bathroom was located outside the main door to our suite. We also had hotel staff being loud outside our room (we had to have the windows open because of not having air conditioning) after midnight and I had to ask them to please be quiet as we were trying to sleep.
Beautifully appointed large room. Two windows
There was no air conditioning and it was very hot. The fan they provided upon request was not adequate. I realize the weather is not in their control, but I feel this is going to happen more often and all hotels should be prepared.
It was a beautiful, quiet hotel and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast at the hotel was delicious with a lot of variety. It was also only a short walk to the Vitra Collection - which was fantastic. It was close to public transportation and many restaurant options.
Our room was right off of the common courtyard which thankfully didn’t prove to be an issue.
Everything was awesome, actually stayed twice during the same trip. Was travelling by car to Italy, and this seemed like a good spot to spend the night at. After the first stay, decided to book the same place again on the way back. Stayed in two different rooms, this one was bigger, very nice and comfortable the other one was also absolutely fine, just smaller as per the description. The staff were nice, food was good (had dinner) I really have 0 complaints. We were staying with a dog, so a small charge per night (10-15eur don’t remember) applied, but that’s pretty standard. There was also free parking at hotel’s backyard, which was very convenient. I definitely recommend this hotel! And for pawrents, there’s a small park 5mins away for a walk.
Everything was perfect, no complaints.
Excellent natural lighting, Fairly decent breakfast and Very nice and friendly employees.
very poor artificial lighting at night, no refrigerator in the room and finally very poor internet.
The hotel is traditional, located in the quiet rural heart of Weil, it is close to Basel. The staff is helpful, the room and the bathroom were large enough and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was good. Very handy to have a restaurant on the site.
Room was quiet very clean and friendly owner
Room was clean and quiet, bed very comfortable, I didnt take breakfast as I normally dont eat a big breakfast. It was renovated and very good condition. Nice and friendly staff
Homely rural feel stay based to the East of Weil am Rhein. I found the hotel pretty modern, even though it's in an older style building. Staff were friendly and excellent. The breakfast there was plenty of selection and more than enough for me.Bus services are available just around the corner, so easy to get to.Note the hotel is changing owner and so this review really only applies until 03/25.
The light switches by the bed - didn't seem to work, however it was easy to control the lights. So no problem really.
Extra comfy beds and lots of very hot water in a very clean, modern room and bath. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and tasty with a super attentive breakfast lady ready to refill your cup and leaving things in place even after the 1000 a.m. deadline. Great parking just behind the hotel, which was so easy to find -- a straight shot from the autobahn. Bus stops to both downtown Basel and to the Beyerle Foundation in Riehen within two minutes walk of the hotel, plus lots of restaurant choices and a grocery store.
Room was very cold the first night, though both room and bath heaters were going on high. Was disappointed that the restaurant was closed while we were there. Staffing was scarce and had no one really to ask questions of regarding the local transportation means. Turned out to be very simple thankfully.
Very nice rooms, friendly staff and an excellent breakfast! And when the restaurant is open for dinner, great food :)
It is a good transit from Italy to NL.
We have stayed here before and the welcome was fabulous which is why we went back. Unfortunately this time the welcome was unfriendly and unhelpful. We arrived hungry at just after 9 in the evening we appreciate the kitchen was closed but they couldn't even find us a piece bread, nuts or crisps even though we phoned 2 hours ahead for something. Booking description says air conditioning in rooms, however it is only in some rooms. Black mould on the tiles in the bathroom.
Very clean, good quality food
Locations, not easy to get to Basel in the weekends.
The breakfast was continental with a large variety of breads, spreads, meats, cheeses, hard boiled eggs and dry cereals. Fresh fruit and juice, coffee and tea were also available. Very well organized, displayed delicious.
More nights added to our stay would have been great . The restaurant was high end and everything was homemade and delicious. The hosts, Sarah and Chris , along with their staff, were the best hosts and made us feel like family.
Beds are comfortable - breakfast buffet - cleanliness.
I was supposed to get an upgrade but didn't get it upon arrival. After explaining the situation, I got it.Suspension in the bathroom and tea/coffee machine would be a plus ! ?
Clean and modern rooms. Easy to reach with nice parking lot. Service for breakfast was good
Reception closed early (we were informed but still inconvenient). Breakfast had a limited assortment.
