    Pros +

    • The view from the hotel was stunning and the location was close to the railway into sorrento but on a very busy main road.
    • Amazing scenic location, spectacular views. Onsite free parking. The hotel is located between Naples and Sorrento off the main road. Vico Equense is a pretty town which is accessible by foot, car or train. The hotel does have a courtesy bus to take guests into town. However if you do it independently, the train is easy as it’s a 5 minute walk down the road and only 1 stop. Sorrento is also accessible from the same station making it a stress free day, avoiding traffic and parking. Be mindful when using the public transport of pick pockets!I recently stayed at the hotel for a wedding and the food was amazing. The staff are friendly and helpful. Perfect location to celebrate any occasion.
    • The property had an amazing view and pool areal was very clean and safe -great in the heat of the Italian summer If you are a seasoned traveller and don't mind getting the train any time you want to go anywhere (as taxis are NOT a thing and apparently cost €70 according to the hote if you want to go anywhere l) and know what you're doing, the location is completely fine and a great second if you can't afford sorrento like us -bonus it had a lovely pool with a view which is mega bucks in Sorrento.

    Cons -

    • The hotel was rated a 4 star- but very dated. Everything was very basic. The breakfast was very limited with no fresh fruit and limited choice. The room was basic and had no tea or coffee making facilities and the plug sockets were no where near the bed which is pretty much expected in all hotel rooms nowadays. The hotel was on a busy main road which you could hear even with the doors and windows closed. The room walls were very thin and you could hear people next door and below. In my personal opinion in needs some decent modernisation and a bit more effort put into breakfast. Compared to the other breakfasts we had at other hotels while in Italy- this was the least appealing.
    • There is nothing to dislike about the hotel. I have stayed at the Grand Hotel Moon Valley several times it’s beautiful but it needs some upgrades. I imagine when it was first built it was breathtaking. Guests need to be aware that it is on a very busy road so it may be off putting for elderly guests as there is no where to walk outside. The breakfast need to be simpler as they provide too much variety that doesn’t get replenished. Keep it simple and only offer Italian pastries, fruit, juice and coffee. Italy has the best coffee and pastries ever!
    • Whatever you do - DO NOT EAT THE FOOD HERE! An absolute tip off and the nastiest food I have ever eaten. Not Italian and was very much like the Faulty towers food. I have had carpaccio many times before and what was given was NOT that… it was literally JUST rocket on top of meat and an enormous slice of lemon… No garnishes whatsoever which is integral to the dish as it is very simple…When I complained I was tutted away and still had to pay for it €60!!! I would still like a refund for this meal!!!Either buy snacks from the local shop or have food before you go back to the hotel as there is not any local restraunt that don't require an immense walk up or down a hill.

The pool is amazing. The area has some nice restaurants but you’re out of the way.

Food was basic and overpriced. Pool on Sunday is open to public and packed with Italian families - no room for guests. Safe in rooms didn’t work. Door had had some previous security issues as clearly been pushed in - on both our rooms.

We booked a sea-facing room with a balcony and I'm glad we did. The view and sunsets from our 3rd floor room were lovely. The good-sized balcony had a table with two chairs. The staff at the desk were helpful and friendly. We used the parking garage, which was great. As well as a king-size bed there was a desk and two padded chairs. We asked at reception and were given a kettle and cups so we could make a hot drink. The first night we ate in the restaurant. It was a limited choice 3 course menu at a set price. Generally they ask you to choose the night before. It was all delivered to the table promptly by formally dressed staff. There is also a bar by the pool.Breakfast was good with the usual cereals, hot and cold foods.

The wifi was slow. The noise from the road was dramatically reduced with the double-glazed windows. There was some noise from corridors though.

Great pool and outside area. Prices reasonable as well for food and drink.

    Breakfast wasn’t the best.

    7CameliaPosted on: 6-1-2024

The location was excellent with a beautiful view, nice staff, free parking.

The breakfast didn't have many options, and the towels weren't absorbent they had a material like a tablecloth.

I loved everything about it. Amazing views, good breakfast and excellent staff. Close to the train station. Easy acess to Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi coast. You can get train tickets at the reception.

The views and swimming pool are the only positive advantage to the hotel

It was incredibly noisy, the walls and ceilings are paper thin. The location is not great with a thin dangerous walk path to the train station 15 mins away. The breakfast was so basic and scarce a huge disappointment on top of a bad nights sleep. I will NOT be staying at this hotel again.

Good location, close to railway station that brings you to Sorrento, Pompei or Naples. Sufficient parking space.

There is a very busy road in front of the hotel which is very noisy and remains busy deep into the night. The worse is the unexpected Saturday night disco with very loud music and deep bass sounds that resonate very loudly into the rooms causing vibrations of the windows. This lasts until 12 midnight. Personnel did not even There are other options in the surroundings.

    7AnaPosted on: 8-8-2023

The views from the hotel are amazing. The room was always very clean and the gardens around the hotel were awesome.

I'm glad was a hot weather because if my holiday was during the winter would be hard to have a shower because the water was always very cold.

The pool area is great - clean & enough sun beds/umbrellas during weekdays so you don’t have to get up early to reserve them. They have a free shuttle bus to Sorrento every day (book a few days in advance). The bar for drinks is open all day until very late and they have a good lunch menu (homemade pizza, salads, sandwiches, fries etc). There is a young man who plays the guitar by the bar in the evenings who is very good. I recommend the pizzeria across the road instead of the evening hotel food, or walk down the steps to the beach front where there are other nice restaurants.

The evening/dinner food had terrible options, and was awful tasting - only 3 options for main meal, we ordered ‘beef meatballs’ which was a bowl of mashed potato with 3 meatballs on top! They have a ‘vegetable buffet’ which was only soggy boiled: cauliflower, carrots, green beans, a mediterranean veg mix and a bowl of lettuce. The road outside of the hotel to walk into the town is busy and unsafe. Weekends are very busy and noisy by the pool as the locals use it too & there are often events held in the hotel and the guests will crowd in the outside bar area. The flowers behind all the sunbeds attract wasps so couldn’t relax sometimes. The bar does not serve any snacks or ice cream during the day. The rooms are very basic and are two singles pushed together that slide apart during the night.

The staff were helpful with lots of our questions. We received an upgrade on arrival.

The road to hotel from train station on arrival was hard with luggage, wish we had known this in advance.

The staff were extraordinarily friendly, which made a great impression on us and made our stay extremely enjoyable. Umberto and Vincenzo were especially hospitable and attentive to ensure our stay was perfect. The swimming pool and surrounding furnishings were a great highlight. Similarly, the balcony views overlooking the Gulf of Naples and on to Vesuvius were magnificent. The pizza served in the poolside restaurant at lunch was the best we have had on this trip! ?The hotel is convenient to Seiano station which provides easy access to Pompeii, Vesuvius, Herculaneum as well as Sorrento in the other direction. There are some great restaurant options close by and a fantastic deli/minimarket across the road.

Nothing negative to comment on re our stay at this great hotel!

    pool, location

breakfast was poor, pavements and roads are dangerous. staff could have been more helpful. shower took ages to heat up.

They helped us get the scooter from a local rental company.

The hotel is old and is in no way a 4-star Hotel. The staff was very rude and even though we booked a garden view but instead we were given a staff room on the main floor which opens to a common shared place. The common shared place is very busy till late at night so do not expect any sleep. We felt the response toward us when questioned about our room booking was very rude. Breakfast is very basic they tried to do American breakfast but it was very basic, I would rather go out and have a proper breakfast.

    8PaolaPosted on: 8-27-2022

It has 2 lovely swimming pools where young children can enjoy some splashing while the grown up can enjoy swimming. The location is also great for visiting Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi Coast.

Room is a bit outdated but overall is clean and comfortable. Perhaps the shower door should be upgraded though. There was so much water leaked out the door gap when taking a shower.

    4ClayfieldPosted on: 8-18-2022

The pool area was modern. There were plenty of Sunbeds. The breakfast was nice. The shuttle bus driver was very helpful. A short walk from the train station.

We booked an annex room for 3 people. The room was only big enough for 2 beds, but an extra bed was squeezed in and all furniture pushed to the sides was either unusable or difficult to access. Beds were not comfy, the bedding top sheets were poor quality. They looked like old table cloths. my daughter and I were cold. There was one slat missing from the shutters letting light in and there was lots of noise 24/7 from the main road. No where to hang towels to dry despite there being no balcony. Love Italy, but my stay here made me want to get home to my home comforts. The rooms were more like a very basic 3 star at a push! This hotel is definitely not a 4 star!
