Essaouira Lodge

Well maintained property with lovely gardens. Personnel friendly and helpful. The shuttlke service to Essaouira is very good. The beds are large and comfortable.

The breakfasts were limited to pancakes in all sizes and forms with little other variation. All was ok for a few days and then it got boring. The dinners are very unspectacular. They are relatively expensive without much taste.The normal maintenance is lacking on many levels including leakage due to rain and sticky locks. Bathroom sinks are poorly designed.

Continually interrupted by staff knocking on the door in the morning. Everyone got food poisoning from the restaurant.

We stayed here for 5 nights with our three children. We chose it as it had a heated pool which was very relaxing. It is in the middle of nowhere and nothing close by but there was a regular shuttle service to get into Essaouira, which was around 20mins away. Comfortable accommodation, lovely space and good food.

Essaouira Lodge is a perfect place to relax and reset. It has a calm ambience, is beautifully and thoughtfully landscaped, and has great facilities. We stayed in the 2-bedroom house, which was wonderful, with a well equipped living space and kitchen, comfortable beds, and everything we needed. The staff were kind and helpful, and readily available to help. We loved seeing the birds around the pool, the peacocks, and tortoises. The pool is beautiful and clean, perfect for relaxing. The hammam was also great, as was the massage. Although it is far out of town, there are regular scheduled shuttles in and out of Essaouira, which takes around 15mins. The onsite restaurant is good as well, although we preferred to try different places in the town.

It would help if the restaurant had a daytime snack menu - the kitchen prepared us some food when we just wanted a snack, but a clear menu would have been better. The shuttle service could be more flexible, particularly in the evening.

The staff were attentive, friendly and generally knowledgeable.The frequent shuttle was a bonus.

The bathroom wasted a lot of water and the washbasin had no plug.

Lovely place, wuite far out but regular bus- beautiful area, nice pool, peacocks calling and friendly cats, well arranged bedroom suites, really great staff and food excellent

Noisy plumbing!

Self contained second floor apartment and balcony is comfortable, if a bit tired and needing some attention. The central club house, the pool and the gardens are very pleasant. A resident peacock family and the many wild birds enhance the environment.

The approach road is long and rough...possibly impassable in heavy rain. E.L. is about 30min from Essaouira, making it more a resort for those wishing to stay put. Fine with children. Main pool heating was inop, and substitutes at the villas less than ideal. We only ate one main meal in the resort...not especially memorable and poor value for Morocco. The kitchenette was poorly equipped and made any self catering self defeating.

Perfect, clean and peaceful hotel with lots of green plants, cats, dogs and peacocs. The staff was so nice and helpful and food just great!

Maybe if I was there with small children I would have found the gravel on the pavement a hard surface to ride with trolleys. That’s it :)

Difficulty in finding the property from N8 west. Sign only visible driving east! Main pool not available. Heavy rain caused balcony to flood and rain under entrance door that was difficult to open. Dinner very poorest

Great place! Would really recommend it for your stay in Essaouira. Short drive to the city, the lodge itself is an oasis of calm and rest. Really kidsproof also

A beautiful and peaceful setting, with kind and helpful staff who are willing to meet your every need. From the moment I arrived I started to relax. My room was upgraded to a suite which gave me lots of space, a balcony with a view of the sunset and a little kitchenette. I loverd the buffet dinner by the open fire and the breakfast in the garden by the pool.I spent a morning relaxing by the pool which has a lovely vibe - relaxing music, drinks from the bar etc. and then spent the afternoon exploring the Medina of Essaouira. I had a car but there is a free shuttle from the hotel that goes back and forth several times a day. Wish I could have stayed longer… I will be back!

I loved it all.The heating system broke on the main pool but they invited me to use one of the smaller private villa heated pools - which I did in the evening, but then was happy to use the main pool in the midday heat. I was very happy to have the options!

We loved staying at Essouira Lodge, beautiful gardens, a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. The pool was heated and set in lovely surroundings, comfortable sun beds and sofas.The free shuttle bus for guests was an excellent service provided by the hotel.All the staff were friendly and very helpful.We will be booking to stay again!

Would have preferred table service at dinner in the restaurant, but this changed to a buffet.More changes to the weekly menu is needed, with more variety.

Beautiful setting. Lovely pool area and nice space for out door eating. Breakfast was good. Main supervisor at breakfast was accommodating. Shuttle bus was good.

The staff were surly, especially the older man who showed us to our apartment on Christmas Eve! He was really miserable. The exception was the man in charge of breakfast who had more about him. The lady on the check in was also friendly but the whole atmosphere was unwelcoming. The worst thing though that I hadnt anticipated was the noise from the apartment above us. Just awful. Christmas Eve at 1.30 the people above were scraping chairs on the stone floor. I couldn’t understand why someone would be moving the furniture so much at that time of night. Two out of the 4 nights we had terrible sleep. We banged on the ceiling several times. The lodge is very beautiful but it is a good 20-25 minutes out of town. We loved Essaouira and will definitely come back but not to this lodge.

Lovely private accommodation just a short drive from Essaouira, all meals a reasonable price and a heated pool. What’s not to like.

The location is a perfect place for a quiet and peaceful getaway, away from the bustling of Essaouira town. Fast broadband wireless internet activity.Lunch and dinner available at extra cost, had the lunch buffs was nice.

Staff were amazing and the overall environment was wonderful. Like an oasis of calm and nature. We were 8 friends who have travelled a lot together so having a 5 bed property with private pool was great. We did full board which was very good and incredible value. Great calm after some days in Marrakesh and Essaouira.
