Van der Valk Hotel Stein Urmond

The staff was very friendly. The bed was big and comfortable. Love the option of walking oudode from your room ( we stayed on ground floor). Bathroom was very new and modern looking and has both shower and bath , quite a unique feature. We also got a complimentary drinks and parking is free yet secured.

The bed frame had some scratches and small tears. The room was in construction area where they're in process of renovating the room. The hall was was dirty and very dark.

Location, size of the room and facilities.

It’s currently undergoing construction and so a lot of open pipe work and wires walking to the room. Outside noise is also quite bad from the rooms (so you hear everyone in the passage etc).

Like the big bed and overall good space in the room. bar was really cosy and I like that you could also eat in the bar

Room was fairly cold and I was not able to adjust. please shift the lighting in the bathroom... not a good light for doing make up

Restaurant evening meal below standard. Food was luke warm stew had no meat in it for one person other had 2 small bits.. The menu meal was below standard for a Valk hotel. Very disappointing menu. Better eat elsewhere. Shame as rest was fine.

Breakfast was very rich and diverse. Room was clean and spacious. Staff was friendly and immeditaley available to address our needs. There is a nice area in the hotel with several marine turtles.

Bathroom was missing hangers for towels. Although we selected the option with 1 full bed via booking.com, unfortunately we got a room with 2 twin beds. At the check-out we were told that this option was not visible to the hotel.

all very very good. just stop the animal abuse.

all good except the meaningless inner water pond in the lobby with the turtles that are used for decoration which is basically and totally abuse.these animals are constrained in an extremely small area, they are lacking physical light and they are suffering. they just don't have a voice.it should stop, we are not in the dark age.

Excellent evening dinner. We did try the 'menu of the day' (kablejauw). Generous portion, efficient service.

Absence of caretaking at the breakfast room. Many talks between colleagues of the hotel in front the eggs§bacon desk at high voice.

My car broke down, and I was offered another nights stay!

Only paper cups in the room and wooden stick to stir. For the rates you charge you can expect proper cups/ glasses, spoon etc.When i asked for cutlery i was asked to pay €2,50, this is ridiculous, I could understand a deposit for it if you are worried that customers are taking it home, but asking money for it it is stupid!Not had this in any hotel i have stayed in ever! and i stay in many. Room was very small and warm, not able to switch aircon on.

air circulation isn't so good in the room, we smell some cigarette left from previous guests.

The breakfast was very diverse, with foods for every taste and diet. And the decoration and atmosphere of the restaurant, bar and breakfast room were very cozy. A welcoming staff was always there to support the guests, as well.

The entrance of the parking lot from the hotel was not as clear as it could be. A bit hidden, almost like part of the staff entrance. Also, the facilities could be better, maybe add a sauna or pool would make the hotel more attractive to new visitors of Urmond.

Bed a bit too soft

The exterior of the hotel is rather off-putting, but once inside it is another story. Our room was large, the beds very comfortable. And the bathroom floor was heated! We ate supper at the hotel and the service was 100% perfect. But then came the breakfast buffet. I have travelled a lot but this one was one of the best. Well presented with a large choice. There was even a waffle iron to make your own waffles,

The entrance was not clearly marked.
