    Pros +

    • I liked the warm welcome I liked the ambiance, beautiful with Christmas lights The bed was very goodThe cleanliness
    • Location beautiful in park
    • I was allocated a room part way through a refurbishment by mistake- as confirmed by the receptionist- no refund despite

    Cons -

    • I didn't like the smell in the bathroom, strong sewage smell and it easily penetrates in the bedroom.
    • The staff were not friendly, there was no tea available in the rooms and when we asked for it in the morning we were told it was not available.
    • No breakfast before 9 amAt 1 am they were moving furniture around under my room really loud - not lifting but pushing over the floor - at least it sounded like that. ( My guess is that because there had been a wedding they were putting furniture back to original place?)There was no sheet over cover of the matress. ( They forgot) I only noticed when I went to bed and that was late so I just rolled up in my 2 person duvet.

The room with electrical wires hanging out of the walls, no lamps/ side lights - just a main light

If you have a car the location is great with a free parking area.

The hotel is under construction with a lot of annoying noise and dirt.

    5LindaPosted on: 4-29-2025

The hotel is surrounded by the most beautiful forest. It also has an amazing history...sadly this is not appreciated by present owners.

Very noisy. Guests made a lot of noise at a function. Staff also sorted bottles below our window. The hotel is in need of some sprucing up! We had no tv remote and our safe was inaccessible!

    2AzeezPosted on: 4-26-2025

    Just the location

The internet wasn't working at all and the TV not connecting... we checked for water to drink by the selling fridge... nothing there

Lovely comfortable room in beautiful peaceful surrounds well located to my headquarter office

staff at dinner half disengaged, waited ages to be served, had to get up and ask a few times. seemed inexperienced. but this is standard dutch service in hospitality....

nice surroundings, nice restaurant, big rooms

although recently renovated I think, it needs some paint in some places

In the middle of the night, some guests next to our room were slamming their doors so hard and talking so loudly. I was going to brush it under the rug and not complain, even though I had a terrible night’s sleep. But then during breakfast, there were huge groups talking very loudly—like really loud (seems the same people).I simply asked the staff if those guests had been fighting, just out of curiosity. The staff basically responded, “No, they talk like that. It’s just their culture. They’re the family of the owners, so we have to let it be.”My jaw dropped—this is the most ridiculous response I’ve ever gotten from hotel staff! So if my family owned a hotel, I guess I could just be rude and not care about the other guests staying there? Please train your staff properly and kindly remind the owner’s family to be civil. People are paying to stay there—it’s not a free-for-all just because they’re related to the owners.

We liked the hotel and the location. The Brasserie and food was excellent.

The room was too hot and the bed too soft.

    6JuliePosted on: 3-23-2025

The setting in the wooded area away from the road.

A bit dated in decor upstairs. Curtains/blinds in the room did not fit well. Restaurant menu not in English for easy translation do unfortunately the meal was not a good experience.

    6SuthineePosted on: 3-12-2025

    The bed and the bathtub.

The lift didn't work. There was no one at the front desk when we arrived. People at the restaurant had to help us out. Before we arrived, we tried to reach out to request for the cot, but there was no response.

    Location

Booked for celebrating our anniversary and asked several times to the property if they can arrange something special. But no response. I had booked the most expensive "King Suit - A honeymoon suit" - understanding that this would be loaded with facilities but it was quite the opposite. Following were the issues we faced during our 2-night stay. Other than the following issues, the most frustrating thing was that you keep complaining about the things and there is no action taken by the staff. 1. Kettle: The dirtiest kettle to heat the water for tea and we complained about it at the reception but it was not cleaned till we checked out.2. TV: such a messy way to set up a TV in a king-suit and none of the apps worked on the TV. I complained about it but nothing happened.3. Spa bath: We were in a pool of dirt the moment we turned on the jacuzzi as all the nozzles were never cleaned it seems.4. Dirty room: All over our bed cobwebs were hanging right above our heads.5. There was no cupboard in the room to keep our belongings.6. They claimed that the room was soundproof - but it was again quite the opposite. The sound of every step and people talking in the hallway or stairs, we could hear clearly. 7. Lamps fixed in the bed-head were broken and hanging giving a feeling - that it might fall on your face while you are asleep. 8. A wooden stair was kept to hang your clothes in the bathroom with black mold all over the stairs.

    Basic room but goodFree parking

    Bed was quite small

    1JosephinePosted on: 1-20-2025

Beautiful location and easily accessible but unfortunately, that is all there is to this hotel.

The beds are too small for two people, the mattress is too soft, practically sinks in when laid on.The walls are paper thin / poorly insulated and one can practically hear the other guests snoring, talking or coughing to say the least. Drainage is also quite loud. Could barely sleep here...

Easy parking. Quiet location. Restaurant on site. 30 minute walk to Zuiderpark parkrun. Easy tram access to The Hague. Comfortable bed. Walk-in shower. Spacious room. Good value for money.

    10DamianPosted on: 1-6-2025

The biggest advantage is the location in the middle of the park. Peace and quiet. The hotel and the room itself are clean. The service is nice and smiling. Very good hotel restaurant with substantial meals. In front of the hotel there are small attractions for children and an ice rink in the winter.

The room was poorly lit. The mattress in the bed was very soft with visible dents which caused me back pain the next day. The situation with the payment was also strange, as after payment it did not appear in the hotel system as it should normally be.
