    Cons -

    • Liked · The chateau was lovely. But the boss of the chateau was a real jerk.Disliked · It was New Years Eve. I reserved my room in October, as well as the New Year’s Eve party. When we arrived at the party I was yelled at, received a machine gun questioning, as if I were a thief on their property and I was going to steal the chateau. The “boss” of the hotel could not have been meaner nor any more unacceptable to a guest!!!!!! He was just AWFUL! Later that night, when he saw we had made friends with HIS friends (coincidence) he cowered and refused to look me in the eye. What a total jerk. He ruined our stay with his arrogance and his holier than thou attitude! I would never go there again. The owners are correct in not selling to this jerk.
    • We rented the biggest suite and it was awful: very cold, almost no lights, could hear all the neighbors; and we were (almost) charged twice because nobody speaks English
    • The bathroom is a bit outdated.

Staff member Emanuelle was very friendly and helpful. She with the help of a good cook rescued what could have turned into a difficult situation.

Having booked a table at the restaurant on both evenings of our visit, we arrived to be told that the restaurant was closed. The property was in process of being sold and the chef had left. However, the hotel brought in a chef for the two evenings and we were served beautiful food by a lovely staff member.

Comfort of room and bed. Quiet location. Pleasant grounds.

No dinner - restaurant closed. Average quality breakfast - no bread!

Lovely Chateau hotel. Excellent pool and grounds.

Arrived to find the restaurant closed. Would like to have been advised in advance to make other arrangements prior to arrival.

Beautiful building. Great pool and garden. Comfy bed. Pleasant staff.

Nothing in particular.Lack of attention to some details. Zero decoration in our room. Ineffective bedside lighting.

    Two of the mornings good.

One morning no coffee or tea had to ask several times to get from bar. No food all run out and was not replaced. Seem to not have any bread. All guests annoyed no explanation from staff.

Towels at reception, should be at the pool , only a recommendation

    Beautiful exterior and large room.

No wifi Rundown things in the room. Like handle hanging off the door. Shortage of sockets had to unplug lamps to use things and then as no wall lights was dark. No ac ( not an issue for me but partner struggles in the heat)

We were really looking forward to this stay- in particular, having dinner in the lovely dining room. We told the receptionist this on arrival and she said it would be another hour until she had organised the nights menu. One hour later she told us that the dining room was fully booked and we would have to drive our car 10 minutes or more to find something to eat for our evening meal. This totally ruined our stay and we left very early the next morning.

On check in, our room only had 1 bath towel, no hand towels, no bathroom soap and the safe was still locked from the previous occupant. The room was a good size but lacked any personality and we had to leave a window open to get any fresh air- a problem with the mosquitoes. The swimming pool was dirty.

Delightful 12 century building with modern updates to bedroomsThe staff were exceptionally friendly and helpfulA huge advantage to have Tesla Fast Chargers at the property

Beautiful building in a lovely setting. Bedroom was spacious and clean. Hotel was very accommodating for our dog. Grounds around hotel were great for our dog to run around. Staff friendly and helpful.

For a four star hotel I would have expected a more extensive menu. It was very limited. My husband and I eat most things but struggled to find something we liked apart from the steak. Food and wine were expensive. On the Friday eve the restaurant staff were very good and attentive. However on the Saturday evening very slow service - we waited 30 minutes before even being offered a drink or menu and there were only 8 tables occupied! Breakfast was very good but we were charged for breakfast for both mornings but we only ate on one morning and they charged us for 4 breakfasts on both days. We were only partly refunded for two breakfasts! Not impressed.

Beautiful grounds and building. The bar and restaurant areas especially were stunning

The walls were paper thin, we could hear absolutely everything in the room next to us. Also the rooms were basic and not nice compared with the public areas of the hotel. But perfectly functional

    6DavidPosted on: 9-2-2023

The building , grounds etc were beautiful, such an idealic place. The rooms are huge with high vaulted ceilings.Breakfast was great, good selection and unhurried. We had arrived late and the staff went out of the way to feed us at 9pm.

The walls are paper thin. And the rooms are echo chambers. You can hear every fart, splash, moan, groan, from your neighbours.Especially if you have amourous neighbours, maybe take ear plugs

    8StephaniePosted on: 8-12-2023

The decor was beautiful and the room was lovely, clean and spacious. The pool area was well maintained and very relaxing. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The lack of variety on the menu was very disappointing especially considering the chateau was a 10 minute taxi drive from Rodez centre and very limited food options near the chateau.

Comfortable room, beautiful setting, friendly staff

Poor choice of lunch and dinner options

    10CatherinePosted on: 8-7-2023

Facilities were excellent to keep teenagers entertained. Swimming pool, Pool table, table tennis, chess boards, next door to the golf club where you can hire clubs for the driving range.

I would have tvs linked to the internet so that you can sign into your Netflix account.

Facilities Recently from 3 to 4 starsCleanliness of swimming pool

Bathroom not a 4-star standardBut it says in the room that bathrooms are subject to future renovations, however we already pay for a 4 star hotel price per night while the rooms are still not at this level. Poor indication from the main road = hard to find at night. No elevator

    8RachaelPosted on: 6-25-2023

Everything! Location from Rodez airport super, beautiful ambience, all of the team wee so pleasant and courteous. Grounds lovely and great pool. Breakfast a treat.

We hold have liked a more varied and expansive menu for dinner
