- We had a brilliant experience at Timbre Virtudes. Our room was exceptional—clean, modern, and very comfortable. What makes this place special, though, is the impeccable service; every staff member we encountered was professional and genuinely helpful. The breakfast was another major highlight—plenty of variety and high-quality ingredients. It’s rare to find a hotel that hits all the marks like this. We will definitely be back!
- I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our 6 day stay at Timbre Virtudes. We arrived during a period of historic storms and flooding and it rained the entire time, but the hotel was a wonderful port in the storm. We couldn’t have been more comfortable or well taken care of. The highlight is, indeed, the wonderful staff who provided the highest level of service. I booked this trip to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and the staff went above and beyond to make her feel special and celebrated, including arranging for some complimentary extras (room upgrade, champagne, some desserts) that we were very grateful for. Additionally, I got food poisoning on the last night of the trip (not at the hotel) and Marta in particular made additional effort to help my girlfriend order medication from the pharmacia late at night. The property is slightly off the beaten path but is a 15 minute walk to the center and a 10 minute walk to everything (live music, sangria, restaurants) along the river. If you don’t fancy walking, everything you could possibly want is about a 4-6€ Uber away and Ubers were always available. The location made it perfect for experiencing the two most active parts of Porto and was located in the Virtudes neighborhood which had a beautiful sunset viewpoint from the park just above the hotel. The bed and all of the facilities were clean and perfect, zero complaints.
- Friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Hotel is placed in secluded area so it is very calm nad quite. But the city centre is close by and reachable by a short walk. Beds are very large with comfy matteres - I had a great night sleep. Very much recommend and if I ever visit Porto again will definately choose this place again.
Cons -
- Perhaps my only complaint was the breakfast buffet, which was not included with our reservation and cost 30€ pp which we felt was not a good value based on the options at the buffet, so we did not take it more than once. There are a big variety of wonderful breakfast and brunch options in Porto so this was no issue, and was literally our only very minor observation for an area of improvement at this otherwise flawless property.
- evening meal just ok
- It was a bit disappointing that I couldn't enjoy the buffet because it was off-season and there weren't many customers. However, the food I ordered was excellent and very satisfying.

reception staff and breakfast staff fantasic,
evening meal just ok
Our first stop on our honeymoon was Porto, and we stayed at this property. The friendly staff and excellent service made our experience a delight. I was especially impressed by how they remembered to mention that we were on our honeymoon, and that they took care of everything. Next time we return to Porto, we will definitely stay here.

Stunning hotel with really generous rooms, everything is beautifully designed. Staff are wonderful. This place is just lovely.
Nothing not to like here, although if you walk into the old town its really not far but be prepared for a bit of a hill!
Amazing stone arched lobby and dining rooms. Nice rooms with comfy beds and good balcony views. Staff is super nice and professional. There was a cool roof top bar that was closed due to cool rainy weather but we took some drinks up there anyway.
I liked the location. Off the main street on the north side of the river and down a little alley. But Bolt drivers didn’t want to go down the alley and would drop us 200 meters away.
Excellent stay in the heart of PortoTimbre Virtudes is a beautiful boutique hotel with a perfect location in the historic center of Porto. The rooms are modern, clean, and very comfortable, with thoughtful design details that make the stay feel special. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always happy to help with recommendations and making sure everything was perfect. The atmosphere is calm and elegant, ideal for relaxing after exploring the city, and many rooms offer lovely views over Porto. Breakfast was fresh and high quality, with a good variety of options and their service is the best.
We loved our stay here! Everyone on the staff was so professional and friendly. They even delivered a bottle of champagne and a dessert to our room because I had typed in the notes that we were celebrating our anniversary. Super beautiful and unique hotel!
The hotel was beautiful and the staff was exceptional! It was hard for taxis to get to but worth it for the view and location.
Great hotel and pleasant staff, its on the narrow street so most cars stopped by the church nearby to drop us off and its a 30 fert walk to the hotel , close to the waterfront and tram
Fantastic staff. Wonderful location. Great rooftop bar.
Restaurant was slightly dark
Breakfast was a wonderful experience. The eggs were very fresh, cooked just the way I like them, and served nice and hot. Each bite was a tasty mix of soft yolk and delicate whites, making for a great start to my day.
There isn't enough seating outside, especially when it rains. It would really help to have more outdoor seating, especially during bad weather.
Loved that the hotel is a but off the beaten path and heavy tourist traffic but walkable (despite steep hills). Don't usually take the breakfast option but really glad we did. Concierge help was excellent!
Can't think of anything but our room was on the small side.
Beautiful hotel, great room, super friendly staff and amazing breakfast
A bit off the city center and hard to get to.
Great location! Secluded and quiet while also a short walk to all the waterfront and shopping areas. The property itself blended the medieval architecture with modern comfort and facilities. The rooftop area had spectacular views of the city. The staff were also OUTSTANDING! Very cordial and accommodating. They even helped us figure out how to get back to Lisbon during the transportation strike. We cannot give enough accolades regarding this hotel.
The staff was amazing. The room well designed.
Breakfast wasn’t great. Cars can’t drop you off at the hotel so it’s a bit of a walk every time you leave the hotel. Not a big deal but something to be aware of.
The breakfast was exceptional. The bed was huge and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The building was historical.
Nothing. All perfect.
The old structure of the building was beautiful. The thick stone walls were very impressive and the new renovation blended well with the origins.
The room was humid and no way to draw in or circulate fresh air.
The breakfast was superb, the staff went out of their way for you, the room (which was upgraded to a "Superior") are spacious and comfy, the location was good but could have been better.
