The Garden is just 328 feet from the volcanic sands of Ponente Beach on Vulcano Island. This renovated 1970s building with garden features a traditional Eolian style. The property features an outdoor swimming pool, and free transfer to/from the harbor. Rooms are air conditioned and feature a private bathroom and satellite TV. Some are complete with a balcony or terrace, a vanity mirror and a courtesy set. The island's impressive crater is a 15-minute walk from the Garden, which is located 328 feet from the geothermal pools in the Porto di Ponente area. The center of Vulcano is 1148 feet away. Inside the Garden Hotel, you can relax in the TV lounge and reading corner or have a drink at the bar. Breakfast is buffet style.

Because of a "plumbing issue" we were rebooked to "Mari del Sud" Resort. From the outside it looked like the neighbouring Hotel Garden has shut down forever. So we got a free Upgrade, thank you for that. Special thanks to the extremely lovely and helpful staff at Mari del Sud, who made us enjoy our stay even more: Valentina, another young gentlemen whose name i didnt catch unfortunately but who was very helpful arranging a boattour and Ygoro.

Cons -

First of all, if youre going to the aeolian islands, dont stay in Vulcano. Its not the hotels fault but the island smells like sulfur and its gross. That said, the hotel itself is not nice either. The rooms are small and ugly, while the staff is not the best either. Theres is never a person at the reception and the housekeeping is below acceptable (they wouldnt even bring new water bottles or fresh towels).
