Pros +
- Location on the beach, the restaurant
- Great old lodge feel. Resort is very clean. Breakfast excellent. Staff..Giancarlo, Chiara, Tiziana, etc all exceptional. The restaurant is exceptional for a small resort.
- Nice clean large property with pool, restaurant and private beach access. Staff beginning with Jon Carlo and all were excellent.
Cons -
- Unexpected high costs of children being with us, slow service, lifeguards not doing their job - on phones the whole time
- The area right next to the resort was not as nice as expected.
- Bathrooms are quite big but facilities there are not in the best condition. Breakfast was fine but many dishes were almost empty and nobody refilled them (even though we came an hour before closing of the buffet).

Very quaint resort right on the water.nice pool and beach bar area. Restaurant was great.
The area right next to the resort was not as nice as expected.
The resort has good amenities: restaurant, bar, beach, pool. The staff is amazing.
Great resort on the beach, nice amenities, staff was friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were both very good. We were flying out of FCO the next morning and it was very convenient to get there. Free on-site parking, and our breakfast was included with stay.
Nice size room, very comfortable bed / pillow , Best of our trip. Staff was very helpful, Restaurant was excellent. The seafood risotto was wonderful. Our visit was in late October though considered off season, the beach access was easy, beach side bar was open. calm quiet beach, of course it was off season, very relaxing. Short drive with no traffic to the airport made it a great place to stay and decompress for few days before heading home.
Beautiful garden and famous beach with black sand. Spacy rooms and great restaurant. Helpful and friendly staff.
Bathrooms are quite big but facilities there are not in the best condition. Breakfast was fine but many dishes were almost empty and nobody refilled them (even though we came an hour before closing of the buffet).
Great location, quiet and peaceful. Large territory of the garden, open pool and private beach access. Lovely people working on the property, very helpful and hospitable.
Breakfast was rather poor
We lived that the property was on the beautiful black sand beach and a swimming pool and it had a wonderful restaurant and the office staff was Fantastic!!
Very comfortable, quiet, felt very safe behind a locked gate at night, lovely pool & spacious rooms.
We loved this hotel, when we drove thru the gate it was like a paradise. Everything so nice, the people and surroundings, clean and beautiful. Very good breakfast and food at the restaurant.
Very convenient that the beach, the pool and the restaurant are next to each other.
Food is very average in the restaurant. And the menu in the beach bar is poor and limited. About the service we have mixed feelings. Some people are very nice, while others are quite cold and even rude. Not the level of service I was expecting from a resort 4*.
The place is beautiful. Extremely relaxing. Loved the swimming pool and grass area. The stuff is very nice and helpful at all times. We haven’t been to the sea as we had a 5 months old with us. However be aware that the sand is black as it is a feature of Ladispoli beach. The beach bar is really nice to have an aperitivo or coffee. The restaurant inside, is quite pricey, but both food and service are amazing. The resort is next to Ladispoli which is full of restaurants, bars, ice cream places to definitely try. Also, it’s a great spot to visit Rome from.
Mosquitos. I would recommend to add mosquitos nets to the windows of the rooms.Gardeners/cleaners at 11:30pm and 6:30am, they should do their jobs at different times.
Everything. This is an oasis of calm after spending time in central Rome.Check-in was quick and efficient. The room wasn't quite ready so we were guided to the Beach bar for a complimentary drink and were called when we could access the room, which had been upgraded. The Beach bar, beach and pool are open all day. Food can be obtained from the Beach bar (reasonable prices) or the restaurant. The staff are very welcoming and professional. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The room was very spacious with a large comfortable bed, good air conditioning, tea/coffee making, fridge and plenty of storage. The bathroom was large with a good shower. There is a very nice restaurant onsite which serves a good continental breakfast. We were fortunate to meet the owner, who was very welcoming. He is very proud of his hotel, as he should be.Directly outside the hotel are an abundance of bars and restaurants to choose from, all of which are very reasonably priced. There are also a couple of supermarkets a ten minute walk from the hotel. It is a forty minute train from Rome (€3) and an easy 20 minute stroll from Ladispoli station. The property only has around 25 rooms in a beautiful manicured garden of around 5 acres. There is a good sized pool on an ambient temperature with plenty of sunbeds, parasols and a shower. Walk out of the garden, past the hotel's beach bar to the private beach.Thank you to everyone at Riva Di Palo for making our holiday so relaxing and enjoyable. We will be back!
Having to leave!
All was good - breakfast, stuff, location, own beach, cleanliness and tidiness
According to the photo, it looked like each room had access to the terrace. but it turned out that there is another 2-story building with rooms without balconies or access to the terrace. And ours was in it.
Great staff at reception desk
After checking in i was informed that in order to use private beach that was mentioned as a part of offer on booking I need to pay additional 25euro per day.
Quiet place next to the beach, dog friendly, all staff was friendly and helpful.
We had to leave for the next stay of our holiday.
You can hear the waves from the beautiful black sand beaches from your room. Awesome staff .
Beautiful spot right on the sea. Well appointed and spacious rooms. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was lovely with fresh eggs and bacon, pastries, fresh juices - the blood orange was the family favorite. We had a wonderful lunch at the restaurant next door with fresh seafood pasta and some of the best wine of our trip. My son even braved the cold water and swam in the sea. The black sand beach is stunning.
The pool and what looks like a hot tub from the photos is ice cold. The showers never got hot. It’s a tiny little town so not much to do if you stay longer.
