Hotel Athmos

excellent welcome, very nice room with all the basic requirements, clean, not noisy and yet in the middle of the city. Functional and yet beautiful with local design/art. Great advice from staff.

Tea, but no instant coffee in the room.I prefer real soap rather than gel. But really, all was great.

Location near the Musée International d'Horlogerie and Migros grocery store.

This hotel is rated 4-Star. This is not a 4-Star hotel, but a 1-Star at Best. As a hospitality connoisseur and professional at 4-Star 4-Diamond facilities, Hotel Athmos is a time capsule whose investors/owners haven't reinvested into in decades. The towels are 8 years old (2017). You get no parking accommodation and park at your own risk in the neighborhood; Avenue Leopold Robert offers ZERO parking. This means you have to wheel your luggage from wherever you parked. This means there's zero Valet and Bellman Staff services. You get a room key 1970 style with a 2lb Keychain weight in your pocket; no attempt made to modernize room access. Not a single piece of furniture has been updated since 1975 bringing along rust and tarnish (pictures). Had zero hand soap (not even a drop) in bathroom. The walls and plumbing are paper thin... you hear your neighbors talking and flushing, thus they hear you. The 1962 elevator holds 3 persons max. If you are a movie director this hotel is perfect to film an Agatha Christie or Alfred Hitchcock throwback suspense movie.

Great location, nice building, clean room.

This is a great hotel for those who like vintage charm. Super retro. And I loved it for it. My suite was very large and with plenty of light. The locations is super convenient as it is right in the centre, walking distance from anywhere in town, including the train station.

They should have reception open until a bit later. The code thing to come in at night is not very obvious. They coudl offer better toilettries.

The breakfast is ok. Fresh at least. The location is perfect. The hotel is old but tidy. easy for business trip.

Old hotel near rail station. On booking was advertised as 4 stars but couldn't be more than 3 . Very old rooms. Not really worthy the money spent.

Location is amazing. Walking distance to everything. Restaurants, pharmacy, bakeries, coffee, shopping centre across the road.

The room had a very strong musky smell. You got used to it but it hit hard every time I returned to my room.

When I arrived around 1 pm, the hotel was closed for lunch. No drop off for the luggage. I wonder why this boutique with siesta is called a hotel then.

Room was clean, quiet and spacious and the bathroom had been upgraded to modern style fixtures. So, even though the hotel was an older property, the room was well maintained. The hotel had a small elevator, 2 person size. Location was great, located in downtown La Chaux du Fonds and walking distance to the International Museum of Horology, a shopping mall and restaurants. Hotel even had a small parking lot if you are driving.

No air conditioner, but this is Europe and I didn't expect one.

Everything was perfect, specially the staff. I had to cancel my last night the day before leaving and they simply refunded the night without question!

It s not really a negative point, but the rooms are a bit outdated and probably not getting on everyone taste. But they are honest and you get what you see on the pictures.

the room i got was smaller than i booked - but i had no time to argue. it was very warm at night - at the least there ought to be a small fan in the room.

Room was comfortable, quiet and had everything I needed for my stay. Breakfast offered a wide choice of items and the cost was very reasonable. I'll happily return.

Parking was a little tight, but with limited space and limited spaces, I managed to find and park in a space happily.
