Cons -
- Hotel Could use a little refresh, but overall excellent
- Location… not able to walk anywhere had to have a car Not a 5 stars hotel a bit dated Food was just ok Pool people were rude We had to wear a shirt while sitting at the pool and they were rude when they told us …. Not 5 stars behavior
- Some rooms are quite old and not really good value for money; especially those on the 1st and 2nd floor overlooking some roof …(I am guessing the restaurant roof) …

It is an excellent place for relaxation, with its own beach at very short walking distance from the hotel. For those who wish to swim, take a sunbath and read a good book it is perfect. They provided mattresses (and towels) to the sunbeds which added immensely to the confort. The sea at the Hotel beach was crystal clear with ideal temperature for swimming. Though we were there in the main season it was neither noisy or crowded. There was some mistake in the room description at the booking site, but the hotel handled it very professionally to our full satisfaction. The breakfast is difficult to top: great variety of fresh fruits, cheese, Parma ham, freshly made fruit juices, excellent coffee within a very nice scenery around the pool , to jus mention a few. We were first concerned about the parking, but the parking lot was huge and we got all the assistance. The rooms and the hotel interior and exterior (extremely large garden) was perfectly fine, functional, well maintained, clean and confortable. The hotel is at the city limits, but Bordighera center and the promenade is well within a walking distance and it is in fact a nice walk to go there late afternoon and evening. There was some gastro-event when we were there and most restaurants were having booths ath the promanade to serve foods and drinks. It was very lively and was a nice complement to the quiet elegance and decency of the hotel. The excellent location and service certainly comes at a price, but there were no hiden costs...
There is nothing really, perhaps some minor suggestions for improvement. 1. We would have appreciated the opportunity to get or to rent SUPs or kayaks at the beach. The sea is so calm there that it literally calls for a rowing tour. 2. For us it was not obvious that the hotel will hold as much as ca. 30% on top of the room price at check in for incidentals. I wish I would have know it in advance. However the hold was removed after check out relatively fast.
Staff was amazing at every level. Location is gorgeous. Many amenities and food choices. Had a lovely massage at the spa.
Not unusual for a luxury hotel, but the food and drink prices (at restaurant, poolside and in-room) are over-priced and really add-up quickly.

Beautiful location with lovely sea views and perfectly maintained garden, wonderful food (great breakfast), friendly staff, comfy bed, enjoyed the spa/massage with Federica
Hard to contact the spa by telephone (tool multiple tries and then we gave up), too many plastic bottles in the bathroom
So bad!!????
Good evening! With my review I want to warn you against traveling to this hotel! During my visit to this hotel, diamond and engagement rings were stolen by hotel staff! The staff didn't even try to help in any way! All the blame was placed on a public place, and that this happens...Very rude and unprofessional behavior from the staff! Totally not worth the money we paid. Overall, old rooms, expensive food and impolite people. I do not recommend spoiling your vacation by staying at the Grand Hotel Del Mare Resort ??????
Bad experience
Old rooms, staff is unfriendly, moody and quite unprofessional especially for the 5 stars hotel. Food in the restaurant is not good and unreasonably overpriced. To enter the spa you have to pay extra which is ridiculous, spa doesn’t worth it as well. Hotel is still alive only because of the location. Doesn’t worth the money and time.
Location
Unprofessional staff, someone (most likely from the stuff) stole the diamond ring and the engagement ring. The hotel didn’t take the proper responsibility, everyone was only defending themselves instead of really helping to solve the situation. We were shocked by extremely unprofessional and rude behavior of the reception staff and manager concerning the situation. Overall, nothing is organized in the hotel. As well, the room was very old, food in the restaurant doesn’t worth the given money.
breakfast was fantastic
lots of noise from works being carried outworks also Sunday morning started at 08hwet paint on handrails, covered my jacket sleeves, nobody informed us, even taking us to the area to sit you would have thought it would be the obvious thing to be informed of.
Location,facilties, comfort,food
Although built probably 1970’s the food, service, decor and overall quality were very much on point. The staff are exceptional.
Restaurant food a bit pricey but it is s 5* hotel so you expect to pay s premium
Everything. The staff were delightful. The food great. The bed and linens exquisitely comfortable. The entire establishment inside and outdoors was impeccably clean and well kempt.
The WI-FI was very poor and unreliable. Having to pay extra for a front row bed on the private beach seemed a little silly given the cost already.
Everything was great, beautiful hotel, very large hotel area with seating areas .Аmazing breakfast
it would be great if there is help with parking. I had to find a parking spot myself.
staff were extremely polite and helpful, the breakfast buffet was one of the best I’ve seen in a years. The room was quiet and the sea view magnificent. We stayed on the fourth floor deluxe double with full frontal sea view.
The bathroom was small and dated but to be fair the manager did explain that the renovations of the bathrooms were under way.
The location is still amazing (this will not change)
The staff and the management are horrible. Old school, they survive thanks to the location. Looks like COVID-19 killed them, I can only be sorry
The staff really are absolutely fantastic. Pool is very warm and the view is lovely.
The drink and food prices are far too expensive.
Breakfast selection was good.service needs improvement for a 5 star hotel.valet was great though.
The chef at the eg station is always grumpy, hardly understand english and the rest of the service staff is also grumpy in the morning and very attentive…
the location is amazing with beautiful views of the Mediterranean coast, very friendly staff.
