Located within the borders of Tsehlanyane National Park, Maliba River Lodge features self-catering chalets, a spa, restaurant, and bar. The lodge also offers hiking and horse riding in the surrounding area. The chalets are heated and come with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is an open-plan lounge and dining area, and a fully-equipped kitchen. Each chalet also has a balcony and patio with river views. Guests can cook their own meals in the private chalet kitchens or dine at the restaurant. The spa offers a variety of relaxing massages. There is also a Kids’s Club at the lodge. Maliba River Lodge is located in the northern part of Lesotho, 186 mi from the Liphofang Caves and 217 mi from Katse Dam. Johannesburg International Airport is a 4.5-hour drive away.

Pros +

The setting is stunning, surrounded by mountains. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the lodge restaurant with excellent service. Also had a delightful riverside walk where we saw an eland.

Cons -

This isn't a big deal, but I was surprised that our well-appointed River Lodge did not come with tea and coffee. We will be better prepared next time, and we'll definitely be back.
