Pros +

- We had an exceptional stay at Cugo Gran Marina. By far, it was our favourite place we stayed in Malta. The included breakfast was delicious, the staff went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed, and the rooftop pool with its view of Senglea Harbour can’t be beat. The location is fantastic - an easy walk to Birgu and Fort St. Angelo and a short ferry ride from Valletta. If I had a do-over, I’d escape the crowds in Valetta and book my entire stay here. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
- Very unique and beautiful structure and roomsGood location
Cons -
- a/c was weak
- While the staff was amazing, we had an ongoing issue of a faulty lock to our rooom. Every time we left our room and attempted to re-enter we couldn't get in. The staff changed the battery 3 times without success. My husband ended up being late for his golf outing because he couldn't get back in the room. Nothing was done to acknowledge the situation.
- The pedestal sink in our bathroom didn’t have anywhere to put our toiletries. There was a small shelf next to it, but it wasn’t spacious enough. We were moved to another unit when our air-conditioning quit, and the bathroom was configured differently, with ample space for us to spread out. So this might have been a (very minor) issue specific to our first unit.

Nice location, beautiful building with nice atmosphere, friendly staff
rather expensive versus what you are getting (can not be considered a 5 star hotel) no power outlets in the bathroom, terras was facing big airco's (misrepresented on the pictures); boring breakfast (no buffet, you can pick 5 items from a menu, which is the same every day). The last day I was offered a toast salmon with a rotten piece in it. When confronted with this, I was simply asked if I wanted anything else without any proper apology or explanation. As a final cherry on top they charged us for minibar usage double after we already checked out
Great staff Nice room Clean hotel
No facilities for the money Location
Breakfast choices were great and food was first quality - prepared well. The staff was outstanding !! It was our grandson’s 9th birthday - Lieke, Valentina, Caterina in the Front Office arranged for balloons and towel art (an elephant and birthday cake sculpted out of towels) - amazing. We appreciated their attention, politeness, and hospitality so much that we sent them a box of candy as a thank you after check out.
Lights were a bit dim, but we understand re energy efficiency.
Beautiful hotel in a unique historic building with all the modern comfort. Well placed to discover the 3 cities . Staff was absolutely amazing , professional and attentive.
Amazing location, excellent staff - so friendly and helpful. Very comfortable room. Lovely roof top pool with incredible view
Drains were occasionally a bit damp smelling
Location and reception staff excellent.
Restaurant staff were very willing but didn’t always understand requirements . Food was excellent though.
Great location right next to the Valletta ferry. Very comfortable room. Amazing rooftop pool with very attentive service.
Breakfast is expensive - we did not opt for this.
Pool, the view and the location
I have nothing to say negative about our stay. We are definitely staying there again when we are back to Malta.
A beautifully restored old harbour building whose features were preserved and incorporated into the spacious, well appointed rooms. It is in a perfect location in a wonderful setting, a short walk from some excellent restaurants and the regular ferry to Valetta.
The room was beautiful and spacious. The bed was so comfy. We loved the staff. Thanks especially to Dora and Ben and Sagar
Excellent room, beautiful hotel, friendly staff and excellent service. The restaurant has improved since last year too and was really excellent
The breakfast is too expensive
Everything was nice about the hotel. Big beautiful rooms and absolutely perfect scenic location. Easily accessible and comfortable travelling to all the three cities via boat and ferry station that’s exactly opposite to the hotel. Lots of eating options at the short walking distance. If you’re looking for HALAL options that too are available at 8 minutes walk from hotel, including chick king and one Turkish restaurant. Also an Indian/ Pakistani restaurant at 4-5 minutes drive away.
Watch your check out receipt carefully before leaving because we’ve been charged a restaurant bill of almost 100 euros by mistake and we have not eaten from hotel restaurant, so check thoroughly your check out receipts before leaving. We thankfully did and staff was quick to amend the mistake.
Great Location .. brilliant restaurant and staff.. our room was a little disappointing with a few issues that the team sorted straight away.
Staff very good esp Dora and Valentina and Jamie
Room sadly very noisy by roadside Early morning garbage pick ups, constant dog barking , bottle bank and shifting furniture in room above terrace
the hotel is magnificent and unique, simple, minimalist and convenient. a quiet type of luxury
the pool is a little small and there is no roomservice but this is minor!
Staff was 10/10, so was the pool area and general hotel facilities.
Room 213 was extremely noisy. The walls are paper thin and we got woken up every am at around 5:30-6am because of the high traffic & banging doors in the corridor. The staff truly did what they could once we raised the issue, but there is not much that can be done when the walls are so thin. Not ideal when you are on holiday to rest. Again, staff & facilities where 10/10, but the lack of sleep was really unpleasant.
