Pros +
- The staff was delightful, the water was hot, and the beds were comfy.
- Great central location. Top marks to the staff. Bathroom spotless, towels and sheets perfect.
- Very pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. Location was good, car park seemed secure and we enjoyed breakfast with a good amount of choice. As we arrived late and had to go out to get something to eat we didn't get to try the bar but there was live music when we first arrived and it looked as if it would be a pleasant place to have a drink
Cons -
- Cooked breakfast temperature was only luke warm. Curtains missing some hooks. Ceiling over the lovely window on the 3rd floor was flaking. Not big things but could be fixed.
- Only that the breakfast area lacked much natural light, felt a bit enclosed.

Wonderful location near the water, cute town friendly people, nice breakfast included, free parking, excellent staff! Had everything we needed!
The room was warm.
The staff at the reception and in the breakfast room are very nice.
This hotel is a disgrace and embarrassment to the modern Irish tourism offering. I decided to finally cycle the Waterford Greenway (amazing experience) with my family and needed one nights accommodation to make a wonderful 2-day biking experience. This hotel should have closed down decades ago by the looks of things. I was initially provided with a room with a tiny broken window which opened up directly onto some sort of disgusting external enclosed area - pictures attached. I can't believe the owners of this hotel have the audacity to charge guests €200+ per night. Imagine handing over that money, going to your room, and opening the window to see this absolute filth. More generally the hotel is tired, dated, dreary, and depressing. Thankfully the very helpful receptionist on duty allocated us another room. We didn't risk eating dinner in the hotel so I can't comment in that regard. I would advise tourists to look more carefully at their options in the wider area. The trade off for the central location is not worth it. The staff at this hotel were lovely to deal with.
Staff on arrival were professional, friendly and very nice. Beds were very comfortable, Breakfast was very nice.
Carpets are old and shabby and need cleaning. There was a smell of smoke in the room eventhough it is non smoking. First Impressions were not good.
Location and staff were friendly
The room wasn’t the cleanest, there was thick dust and cobwebs and the bed had been broken and was held together by some brackets
Great location in the heart of town with off street parking. Staff was friendly, and the breakfast was good.
Check where to park before arriving
I was able to check in as soon as I arrived. The room was spacious. It is an older hotel and could do with a refurbishment. However, there is a lift
The car park is behind the hotel and difficult to find. You will also get wet if it is raining because you have to walk to the front of the hotel to get in. The location is good, right next to the main square
The staff very nice at reception and at breakfast location was great of hotel
Rooms could be updated too warm in room bathroom door needs to be looked at and lamp not working at one side of bed not a great view out of window in bedroom tv was too small
There was a lovely staff member, originally from Thailand, who was so welcoming and helpful and great with our kids. She was the only friendly staff member we met really. Reception staff especially on departure, had no interest or made any effort to engage or even say thank you or goodbye.
The bedroom was sweltering hot even though the radiator was off. We couldn't find a way to reduce heat. Window only opened slightly. The odour throughout the hotel was bad. The carpets especially were so old and dirty, and the smell was terrible .The quality of the breakfast was dreadful. There was poor organisation and lack of interest in the guests. The only staff member working hard, seemingly alone, was the nice lady, originally from Thailand. The food was terrible, greasy, not fresh and displayed badly. We parked in the carpark at the back, there were no helpful signs to inform how to get into the hotel. It was a very uninviting entrance and off-putting from the start.
Great Location & very friendly & helpful staff.
Some areas could be doing with a freshen up.Not much of a selection for breakfast buffet.
Ideal location and good food
A small bit dated .
breakfast was very nice . hotel in great location
room was very small for price
Nothing particularly
Dated furniture. Old carpets. Poor breakfast. Particularly on 2nd morning. No soda bread, fresh fruit or orange juice. Old fashioned hair dryer which you couldn't hold on.
Location grand..breakfast was average..no beans and burnt toast..girl who checked us in was very friendly, on checking out staff on duty was very abrupt with us and a lady before us looking for directions..overall staff need more training...
One girl on checking out wasn't friendly atall..
Lawlors is a great place to stay. The location with the free parking is so nice. Some folks have said it’s too old but I found it fine. My room was very modern. Breakfast was delicious as well as evening meal. The staff were lovely. I’d say the two women bartenders were lovely. Claire made me feel most welcome with good ideas for things to do.
Loved that the hotel was so central to everything in the town. The staff were fantastic and so friendly and just lovely people. Food was fab especially the Ceaser Salad, best I have had in years. Pleny of hot water. I had a problem with tv in my room 304 and told reception and the problem was fixrd straight away. Brilliant service.
The noise in the bathroom with the extractor fans, noise way top loud when trying to have a relaxing bath. Need more staff especially at breakfast time. Lady doing breakfast was pure fantastic and cool, calm and so pleasent and cudnt do enuf 4 you. A real gem to have in hotel.
So happy with the location. It is very central, close to the restaurants, shops & pubs, local bus service. There was a good choice to choose from with the breakfast & it came nicely presented on my plate. Most importantly, the tea was hot.
The toilet facilities on the lower ground. The carpet on the stairs on the way down to lower ground to the toilets, smelt of urine. The ladies toilets is in need of refurbishment .
Really comfortable, spacious, clean room with a nice view :)Beds very cosy. TV had all the channels and streaming
Key card didn’t work for the first room I was assigned so had to be moved. Was hoping for a room with a bath but there were none left when we had to move rooms. Breakfast really not great unfortunately. Everything else great and staff were very nice and helpful with any issues :)
