Pros +
- it's secluded and not crowded, also quiet. light pollution maintained as much as possible to be able to witness aurora viewing.
- Food at the resturant
- Once in a lifetime stay at a beautiful cabin/igloo. Had everything we needed including a comfortable bed and great shower. The best part is the atmosphere walking around the cabins. Worth paying for every activity you can, especially the sauna/jacuzzi. Breakfast was delicious
Cons -
- The staff were not friendly at allThere was no hot water in bathroomThe room was very cold and the temperature is controlled by the receptionWhen we asked for a pick up they insisted to pick up from specific station only
- They were greedy, small dinner and nowhere else to purchase food, 50 euros for a cot (which wasn't good and they didn't notify us before the price) and took money for my 5MO baby for feeding the reindeer.
- The location of the hotel is great, one can see the Aurora, however because it is inside the forest, one needs to walk 35 to 40 minutes to the closest bus station or supermarket which is not very convenient. Of course you can call the taxi but is quite pricy. Water in the shower is not very hot, not sure that’s the general temperature or just my room, it’s warm but not hot, I did feel a bit cold during the shower. But there’s floor heating and air conditioning in the room so is not that bad.

Amazing! The northern lights were incredible! It showed on and on from 19.40 until 5.30.Staff were friendly and helpful. The cabin was comfort and clean, but still cold for me ?. Definitely will come back if i visit Finland again (i hope soon).
The cabin is very nice, I got the chance to see the Aurora from the cabin glass, it’s amazing. Food in the restaurant is excellent, I did not expect to have food like this in Europe, unforgettable, the food is the best, they even have oat milk and lactose free milk and vegan yogurt, that gave me big surprise. Room is nice and clean, staff are all very helpful and friendly, they assist with all my excursions and transportation arrangement. They stayed late to help me check in and even prepared take away dinner for me. Hiking in the resort is also very very nice, beautiful view.

the breakfast was standard; dinner was very good!
the location is good - between Lake Inari and the national park though the hotel should have a nice bar/some evening entertainment
breakfast could have more variety ,however the clipper Decaf coffee was really nice . Buffet lunch ok however could have more variety . Dinner was ok . Activities though is expensive but fun
Need to clear water after shower as it overflows to the WC area . Should have a proper shower screen .
Very nice cabins, we even saw the aurora from our room. Excellent breakfast. It’s nice that you have hiking paths and activities to do.
Very far from grocery stores and the taxi to get to the town was very expensive for a 5 mins drive. I hoped they would offer free shuttle to the city once or twice a day, but they did not
We are vegetarians and hence apprehensive about the Vegetarian dinner at the Resort. However, the chef was amazing, he made European style vegetarian dishes but meeting with our taste and preferences. I think that it was the best food that we had in Lapland, except for the Indian restaurant at Rovaniemi. No other restaurant could come close to it. Special Thanks to the chef for the same. The reception staff was always smiling and helpful. Restaurant staff was attentive and meticulous. Great Experience. We booked the Snowmobile Tour and that was a great experience too. I think that Ivalo Village is a far better experience than Kakslauttanen, who are rude and do not care for their guests. I would recommend Aurora Village, Ivalo 110%.
Everything was Perfect
We stayed for 3 nights and saw northern light for 2 nights. The cabin is well designed to watch northern light. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Cabins, cleanliness, service, staff, facilities, activities and dining experience.
No individual controls for heating in cabin. But we asked reception to turn the heating up and it was done immediately and was perfectly comfortable.
staff
the toilet is impractical, and you can't wait to get out of it, since water is leaking from all sides, you don't have a normal sink or toilet bowl, which is not commendable for the price of 1000 Euros per night. You only have a bed and one chair in the room, so staying in the cottage is just about lying in bed. The dinner is nice, but the portions are small.
We loved everything about the stay, the activities, the silence, the food, the staff. Plus we got so lucky to see the aurora directly from our igloo which was simply amazing.
Easy to access from Ivalo airport. Reasonable breakfast.
Cabin was very small, and needed a deep clean. The information from the resort boasts a dark space environment. Our cabin had a 24 hour illuminated ‘Moose’ that was visible from the cabin. The reflection made it difficult to have a dark space environment. Not helped by a compound with other 24 hour illuminations, that refracted light all around the area. Only 2 comfy seats by the log fire in the restaurant. On half board, the tables are pre allocated for dinner. There is only one choice offered for dinner. Cabin was cold, asked twice for the remote centralised heating to be turned up. When leaving the Reception staff did not ask how our stay was. Very expensive to stay at the resort for what you get.
Breathtaking location, clean and comfortable accommodation, delicious food and friendly staff. I absolutely loved the saunas and the activities.
Comfy beds
Tours/activitiesLack of communication from staff
I liked how the activities were so accessible from the property. Breakfast was also amazing.
I wish they had better lunch and dinner choices rather than set menus. We got food from in town and just ate our own things due to their menu.
The temperature.Glogi. Super friendly and helpful staff.Food so tasty and a Michelin like presentation.
Bar closing too early 9.30pm. It would benefit everyone to have it open till 11pm.
Food was awesome n plentiful. Room was beautiful n came w 3 pillows each which is rare here. Free use of bikes , sleighs , etc . Saw the Auroras right above us!
Toilet got wet without separation of shower to the rest or the area.
