- Breakfast was good.
- Breakfast was good and varied. Nice view of the river.
- Clean rooms, pleasant staff, good-sized rooms, convenient location for airport and recreation.
Cons -
- We wouldn't enjoy the sauna because my husband and I like to do sauna together, and the hotel had a sauna for each sex only. That said, it's true that they have an extra-paid private sauna, so we could have payed it to pay to enjoy our time together in the sauna, but we though it wasn't worth it.
- The motel is long in the tooth. Hall carpet getting threadbare. Window handle barely hanging on. Desk chair peeling vinyl.
- The wood finishes in the room are beautiful but dated curtains and bed covers make it feel dingy. It is clean and comfortable but the price seems on the high side.

Clean and beautiful environment. Saw the most beautiful Aurora display on the frozen lake
Breakfast choice is limited and basic. Room on level 2 is very dated, but still clean and functional.
Breakfast was varied and tasty, staff were excellent, Location for excursion pick ups was excellent. Room was nice with lots of hot water for showers.
Cleanliness: "The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable" Service: "The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, check in/out was prompt" Food: "We enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning" Overall wonderful experience
Friendly staff; good breakfast, excellent dinner. Close to airport and activities
Staff nice in the main if a bit officious.
Old decor, sauna restricted to 3 hours, poor beds. Food poor to average, breakfast overcooked and no butter on offer.
The location by the river and closeness to the airport. The sauna and the pool, large restaurant area and a nice welcoming bar with a fireplace. And the shop with local products and the Northern Lights to see on arrival was magical.
Sauna not on in the morning! No karjalanpiirakkas for breakfast!
I recently stayed at Hotel Ivalo, and while there were several highlights to my visit, there were a few areas that could use some improvement.Pros:Stunning Views: The view from the hotel was absolutely breathtaking, offering a picturesque backdrop that made my stay quite memorable.Spacious Hotel: The hotel itself is vast and well-laid out, providing a sense of comfort.Clean Rooms: The room I stayed in was spotlessly clean, which I greatly appreciated. It was evident that attention to cleanliness is a priority here.Good Breakfast: The breakfast served was quite enjoyable with a good variety of options to choose from.
Cons:Unattended Breakfast Tables: One downside was that the breakfast tables were not cleaned promptly after guests finished their meals. This led to a cluttered and less inviting dining area, which detracted from an otherwise pleasant breakfast experience.Indifferent Desk Staff: I found the desk staff to be a bit disinterested. While they were not rude, their lack of engagement and enthusiasm was noticeable and did not contribute positively to the overall experience.
Location was good, food was good, staff were friendly. The hotel was good value for money. The room was very well decorated. The room was spacious and had good furniture. They have steps down to the river so you can go for a swim.
Nice room, good breakfast and good restaurant. Good parking
The elevator was a bit funny
Breakfast is really good, I do advice jacuzzi experience. The staff and reception is very helpful.
Nothing in reality.
The location is good, by the riverside. If you are lucky, you can get a room in the upper floor with views to the river, which in winter is frozen.
The light in the bathroom was out of service, we had to use the flash light of our our own phones whenever we needed to use the bathroom. There were very dusty areas in our room. The dinner buffet is very bad and overpriced. They charged us 32 €/person without drinks and the meals were not good at all. The following day, we went to a local restaurant by the river with very fine local cuisine for the same price.
Was worth the money and time, friendly staff, clean rooms, nice food and enough possibilities to add adventure to your trip
Some thing were unclear like buffet or privat restaurant options, unclear in which welness offers had to be paid other not etc.
Nice location next to the river. I could see the northeen lightConfortable room. Quiet.Good breakfastStaf is nice
As french I was expecting a change of scene and the hotel was full of french ? But nothing can be done here…. French are everywhere ?
Non
Very old hotel. Not maintained well. Facilities are not as good as in photos.Price quality ratio is zero
The location is really cool and the place is very clean.
It was pretty cold in the room.
Close to the airport, which is convenient if you have an early morning departure
The room I was given was old and very shabby. I suspect it hadn’t been used for long time.
I had a super nice room overlooking the river which was frozen and was used as a road for snow mobiles and pedestrians alike. The bed was comfortable and location was good (about 8 mins from the main bus station, about 12 from the shop). Internet worked well, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff were friendly.
I was unlucky and my stay coincided with big French travel groups who tended to take over the whole place (not so great for individual travelers). Some of the staff spoke to me im French (trying to 'entertain' me, assuming that I was looking for some sort of entertainment at all), TV channels are mostly in French, translations of stuff for breakfast also. I don't speak French and don't care if it's French or any other language, just not keen on any kind of mass tourism and didn't expect it there. But they did their best to give me a quiet room away from the groups and to treat me as an individual :)
