Golden Sands

All the staff were Very friendly. The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. They were able to answer any questions we had. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and the food was amazing. From the moment we checked in to the day we checked out the staff were amazing. The hotel was situated on a beautiful beach and our room had great views. Transit to St Helier from the hotel was very easy by bus. Easy to just walk out to the beach from the hotel.

Location on the beach. Fantastic vistas from the restaurant. Good room facilities comfortable bed. Lift access to room. Rooms are sound proof, Excellent breakfast.

Nothing. Its location, its restaurant are priceless. may be pricy in mid season but an actual bargain in end of season ( Sept - Oct)

Room 111 (our ‘extra night’ location) was very small, cramped, basic and noisy … and, at £197.50 for ‘one night bed only’, it was massively overpriced! ?

I had a wonderful stay. The reception staff is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The room is very comfortable, reasonable size, very comfy bed and really good shower. Very clean. Good tea selection with some biscuits. Felt right at home.The location right on the beach with beautiful views, bus stop on the doorstep and a short ride from the airport. The restaurant and bistro is also good, enjoying the beach view and friendly service.I can definitely recommend it and would love to come back.

The walls to neighbouring rooms are very thin, so if unlucky and you have noisy neighbours it could impact the overall very quiet environment.

Fantastic location right on the beach, really helpful and cheery attentive staff.The superior double room - balcony on the sea side was perfect.

Sea view rooms are amazing, comfortable and well equiped.The food was of excelent quality and breakfast was plentyful with lots of choice. Snacks and meals also super.Good drinks menu, with attentive staff.

Its a little pricy - nothing exhorbitant but the whole island is slightly overpriced.

The bed was very comfy. The bathroom was spotless. The breakfast was excellent.

The bathroom in room 316 is a squeeze. The lighting in the bedroom is absolutely awful. You need to tone down the terrible brightness of the bedside lamps and the centre light. It's like being in a correctional centre. Truly bad lighting and also in the bar downstairs. White light is not good for the soul or the eyes! Shame there's no hotel car park.

The front of house staff were amazing, knowledgable and helpful. I'd grabbed the wrong phone charger cable (USBC instead of the other one) and they were able to help with a suitable I could use plug it into. The restaurant was also lovely, the views are pretty unbeatable but the staff were also friendly and the food was also good.I was not facing the sea but the room was super quiet at night. It had everything you would expect from laundry service, room service, a safe, etc and a whole list of things you could get from the front desk if you had forgotton something like your toothbrush. It also did not have one of those annoying ventilation systems that make a constant mechanical noise, you could just open a window, use the supplied fan or turn on the heating as needed.

One minor issue, there was control with a very bright LED in the room. No way to turn it off or dim it at night and no clue what it did. An eye mask or some masking tape would sort it.

I loved my little room, ultra clean, lovely decor, well laid out, superb shower, nice touch with the tea and coffee facilities, the staff were super helpful and friendly and the breakfast was brilliant,

Fantastic location on the beach. Great balcony room. Simple and clean. Lovely staff.

The dinner service was inattentive. After our order was taken, no one came back to offer dessert or more drinks. Yet there were 5 staff constantly moving about doing jobs that weren’t about customer service but getting the stock and equipment organised as they started laying for breakfast about 8.30pm. It ruined the atmosphere of the restaurant. Same for other customers. We only ate a main course as a result and had one drink. The food was lovely. No chance to taste more despite sitting for an hour after main course.

We paid extra for a sea view room with balcony and the view is stunning and well worth having that type of room. When you wake up in the morning and hear the waves lapping it is truly magical. The rooms are very clean and the double bed (super king size) was very comfortable. The bathroom is clean and the towels are lovely and fluffy.

You get given a complimentary bottle of water which is lovely ( one bottle a day in your room) but as there is no fridge in the room, the sun had been shining on it so it was a bit warm. I would recommend you buy some additional water from the shops as the hotel does charge for any extra. It would be nice if there was a small fridge in each room.

Very clean, staff very friendly, polite and helpful. Breakfast buffet was decent and he evening restaurant food choice was good too. Location right on the beach is lovely for sunny days.

Nothing negative came to mind, perhaps the only thing is that there isn't a great deal of other facilities near the hotel so don't expect a lively night life!

Lovely staff - the receptionists and the team looking after breakfast and dinner were really nice, kind, warm and friendly. Waking up to the sea was wonderful

The complimentary shortbread biscuits in the room tasted really bad…the hotel should find another supplier but other than that, the hotel and the staff were lovely

The exceptional staff - super friendly, efficient, nothing too much trouble. Everything run like clockwork. Excellent breakfast. Good restaurant. Beach view from bedroom second to none. Bedrooms were spotless, well designed and cleaned to a high standard.

If i had to name anything it would be the compact bedroom but the view more than compensated.

The view from the balcony in our room was spectacular and quite breathtaking. The room was spacious, immaculately clean and well appointed. It was decorated tastefully and with thought. The staff were friendly, helpful and kind. Service was excellent.

Can't speak highly enough of the Golden Sands. Great hotel in a great location with great staff in all areas. My recent visit was made extra special by the free upgrade to a family room with a balcony and a sea view over St. Brelades Bay. Highly recommend this hotel and looking forward to a return visit in the near future.
