Extremely helpful staff and beautiful rooms with comfortable beds

Exceptional

For breakfast for some reason there was only one person greeting the guest, seating them, explaining the breakfast and taking orders. So naturally he was super stressed and people had to wait a bit more than usual. Two other of his colleagues were around but they didn’t seems to invested in working as a team and helping.

The room was beautiful and very spacious; we could see the sea, with the road in front. The gym was great and the breakfast quite tasty; didn't have time to test the spa but looked nice. The staff was very kind and professional, I loved the lovely gesture for my partner's birthday - we had a delicious little cake as a welcome gift! Slept very well both nights. It's well located, close to very nice restaurants and bars, although it also looked a bit like the business area (not the most charming part).

We couldn't open the window door, and this wouldn't have been possible to be on the little balcony if we wanted. The service at the champagne lounge was not great (slow, didn't take away the empty plate), but that's really a detail (the champagne was very good).

The Grand Jersey is in a great location. It has an air of opulence and the decor blends new decor with traditional features superbly. The range of facilities were excellent and we particularly liked the breakfast and the the Restaurant Manager went above and beyond to ensure we were completely satisfied with both the food and service provided.It was exceptionally clean and comfortable and the staff were all friendly and helpful whilst remaining professional .

Everything

We were there for 7 nights and felt the menu didn't vary enough so we ate out on three nights. Even the specials were virtually the same each night! There were no salads, only one pasta, hardly any veg except red cabbage. Fine-type dining is nice but not EVERY night. Maybe a pie as well would be nice.Breakfast was nice but instead of offering mint flavoured water, still water, sparkling water, pine nuts and pumpkin seeds, they should get the basics right like making sure everything was topped up. They ran out of SS milk, glasses, bread for toast, pastries, orange juice.

Didn't like 12.5% being added to food and beverage bills. Although it wasn't compulsory, it would have felt embarrassing to ask for it to be removed

Surprised that no complimentary flute of prosecco was available on Christmas morning.Room was smaller than expected for tbe price charged, but was warm,clean and comfortable.

Doesn’t look much from the outside, but boy is it gorgeous inside. Rooms were tidy clean and well equipped. Excellent service. Amazing breakfast.

The staff were very attentive and helpful, the facilities were in great condition and the breakfast was wonderful!

Wow! We we stayed for a joint anniversary celebration and the hotel laid on a few unexpected but extremly thoughful surprises. We received a First class service, particularly from Cornelius on arrival and throghout our stay. All of the staff are warm, freindly and polite, nothing seems too much trouble. We were particularly impressed how well an extemley early arrival was handled, with rooms ready for us as early as possible. Rooms are well appointed with everything you could need, and the beds very comfortable with a great selection pillows of varying firmness.If that isn't enough, choose an ocean view and the outlook from your window really is a picture postcard of the bay and castle.Really can't reccomend this place enough!

'discetionary service charge'

We enjoyed the friendliness of all the staff. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, kept stocked with tea, coffee etc. breakfast were very good, plenty of choice. We enjoyed the spa, because it was near the end of the season it was very quiet and relaxing.

There was nothing that I didn’t like.

Breakfast, Staff service, Pool, Restaurant, Cleanliness, All areas of hotel were spotless. Staff as always polite, caring, friendly. Location of hotel is excellent. Cannot fault anything.

Need a small slope at front entrance, as this will help persons whom find it hard to walk up entrance stairs as they are a bit high, plus wheelchair access needed, but if this is already in place need a sign to direct.

Staff and service were excellent.

Areas for improvement:- Bedroom lighting is poor. You need to install a standard lamp or similar in each bedroom. Other members of our family (5 rooms) expressed the same opinion. There is not enough light for a lady to do her make up. There is no convenient mirror by a light on the dressing table area for this process. The full length mirror in the wardrobe door cannot be used since the door will not open fully. It is blocked by a piece of furniture. Air conditioning is noisy.
