Riffelalp Resort 2222m - Ski-In Ski-Out

everything was good, amenities, view,eficiently, and frendly service

I was worried when I booked that having to take the train up would be a hassle. It was not. The hotel had everything set up for us including the parking garage for our car and a taxi to bring us into Zermatt. Our room was spacious. The location is beautiful. Will stay here again.

The food was not good and they charged a lot and the quality was not there - better restaurants in the town - The breakfast was very good but not the bar food and also the Italian restaurant food was just ok

First of all, I was surprised that they built a luxury hotel at such a high altitude. The exterior looks like a wooden mountain lodge, which is well suited to the Swiss Alps, but when you enter the room, you can see that it is a sturdy construction using very high-quality wood. Although you can't see it, I think the framework that supports the entire load is made of reinforced concrete. It feels that stable. The hotel staffs were really supportive and friendly.

I can’t think of anything. The hotel rates are quite high, but I think that’s why the number of guests is limited and we can enjoy the Matterhorn in relaxed atmosphere.

The team did their very best to do as good as possible in those difficult circumstances, as we were snowed in, the village was without power, but this hotel has a generator for most of the services. The roads (train & car) were blocked so there was no way out for 4 days... they organised a drink every night to make the prison feeling a very nice one, & tried fe to reopen the pool asap. They booked rescue helicopters to get us out of there, as the hotel had his closing aswell, on their own account with all guests really appreciated.

we couldn't experience the real Riffelalp feeling, so we can't really judge on our stay compared to a normal one. it is a classic Alp hotel with a lot of indoor & outdoor options. the view of the Matterhorn is, when good weather, amazing.

Very nice to place and next to the sloop. The view of the Matterhorn Mountain is super cool from the balcony and resort main entrance. Restaurants are excellent.But no nightlife after skiing and u will need to go down to the village by train if u want to life the night experience in Zermatt. So i will recommend to split ur stay in 2 resorts, one on the top of the mountain like this one and second another resort in the village down.

Mr Chantra Malorni was very helpfull to us, the ski room was closed at the noon time we arrived and he opened the ski room and helped us and found exactly right tools we need in few mins even it was not his job, thank you Mr. Malorni, you made our day.The location was perfect, very quiet in the middle of slopes

Did not like the behaviour of Ms. Patricia Marburger, she was smiling but you can feel the arrigancy behind it amd she was not helpfull at all

The Location is perfect and our room has 2 terraces , which we can enjoy the view of Matterhorn day and night and if you want to enjoy the Matterhorn , you have to stay here for at least two nights because Matterhorn always was covered by cloud . Breakfast is very good and all the staffs there are very friendly and very helpful .

only dinner should start earlier like !8:30 instead of 19:00 and that's all I can think of .

Riffelalp is one of the world‘s great hotels. While skiing Zermatt in its own right is exceptional, the hotel adds a visual and emotional dimension. The spa, sauna, hammam, ice, cave, etc. is world class delivering the perfect conclusion to the end of a hard day’s skiing. The restaurants are fabulous, particularly the Walliserkeller, but most of all the hotel is distinguished by its traditional Swiss service. The staff take great pride in their work and nothing is too much trouble. Recommended unreservedly!

The first thing is the view of Matterhorn peak which is dreamlike, all our pictures look like a painting The serenity was exceptional, super clean rooms and great staff. Very polite and helpful staff witth multi language skills Food was amazing, breakfast most specific ally

Your staff was impeccable and more than helpful and friendly at every encounter. The pool area outdoors was nice and we had amazing views. Our room was clean and everyone was accommodating and kind. I especially appreciated the turndown Service. ( you just feel extra special and taken care of). The bidet and special touches were nice. When we were picked up by Miguel and taken down by Stefan they really took care of us and made sure we knew where to go and what to expect. The breakfast had lots to offer, great service and quality food. The location was great in proximity to our room.

We had what we needed and things were great. The only thing that was a miss was we wanted to go to the sauna but the hours were limited to start at 2. Also the large bright yellow rubber duck sort of blocked out photos of the Matterhorn and felt a little cheesy, maybe it has meaning but we didn’t know what it was.

Everything wonderful welcome, lovely staff, all the restaurants had great food and the bar served lighter options if wanted. The spa was amazing, the view won’t be matched. Up there with the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in.

this hotel is located in a very unique location, with an amazing matterhorn view... the decoration of the rooms and the restaurants are very nice and mountain style chic. They are mostly concentrated on the 4 restaurants and the bar, with its F&B and the service..., upscale level..., but dont expect the same for the Hotel...., the concierge Mr.Marvin is perfect, he tries his best, even opens the ski room and helps to fix your boots, during 11am and 15 pm

if you think you re having a 5-star mountain hotel services, keep your expectations low, ( no house keeping between 10 pm- 7 am ) ( ski room is closed between 11am- 15 pm ) etc etc..., the rooms are a bit cold 22 dg, and colder towards morning, the heat adjustment button does not function, they bring you a radiator to use throughout your stay, there is only one person in the Hotel during night, just to answer " please call after 7am ", when you ask any kind of help. i guess this is why it is ranked #38 in Tripadvisor , in all category 135 zermatt hotels, eventhough they claim it is 5 star.

Wonderful setting

Everything was brilliant, the property is located in a very pristine location up top, the porter service was excellent once your arrive at the zermatt train station, everything is taken care off. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the check in process, the rooms with the balcony had an amazing Matterhorn view, even the outdoor heated pool is magical & a must try during your stay. The hotel staff were polite and kind.

-paying the train each time to get to the hotel is not ideal unless you spend your time just at the hotel -pool would expect it to be warmer but luckily we had sunny days during our stay - maybe during winter they do increase the temperature
