The staff were generally friendly and helpful, especially members of the animation team and some of the bar and dining room staff. There were some who were not particularly friendly or helpful but appeared to be a little stressed, so not as attentive to guests. We were 'upgraded' to Royal Elite (but without the privileges) to a room that had a shower head that was mouldy and a stained and badly cracked bath. The shower head was eventually changed but we had to live with the cracked bath. The room itself was spacious and decorated with contemporary furnishings but the bathroom did not appear to be well maintained or cleaned appropriately, leading it to be worn and tired. Although the room was cleaned, it was not to a great standard. In other hotels I've been to, the metal fittings in the bathroom are shined after a room clean, but dirt and water marks were still visible in the bathroom after the room had been cleaned. I used the gym, which was pretty basic and had no air con - just the door left open (but no breeze!) One of the two treadmills was out of service. On a positive, the grounds were nice with some lovely plants dotted around. Also there was a range of food available at the main restaurant, not all to my tastes, but there was always something I could find to eat. I particularly liked the vegetable rostis and churros at breakfast! Although the snack bar at night had a very poor range of food (soup was tasteless) the crepes in the afternoon were lovely!
Lovely hotel and staff were all so helpful and friendly, just need to give a bit more advice on buses and marina and other stuff you can do outside of the hotel
A lot of swimming pools to choose and a lot different bars
The hotel is very big with lots of different entertainment options. The choice of food is excellent. The staff are very helpful and friendly especially Helga in reception. Our room was amazing and so clean. The beds were really comfortable.
When we arrived we were given a room without a sea view. We had arrived in the evening so stayed in that room for one night. However, Helga arranged another room for us the following morning. We had to wait until the afternoon to get in and it was quite stressful. When we got into the room it had a panoramic sea view. It was amazing and worth waiting for.
Great views - Food was excellent! Always hot and fresh and varied from day to day - Rooms cleaned to a high standard everyday - Staff very friendly
Bed only had a thin sheet on. It got quite chilly at night but reception provided some blankets when we requested them. Might be nice if these were put in the room as standard.
Location is very beautiful, could be too remote for some but we wanted to be next to the National Park for walking. A long walk into Playa Blanca but that worked well for us as we particularly like walking. Junior suite sea view rooms decent size.
We booked a Junior Suite sea view Royal Elite Room. Furniture in the lounge area was pvc sofa bed and chairs, quite ugly and uncomfortable, room lacked charm and comfort. Cleanliness left something to be desired. During 10 night stay the cleaning was perfunctory. Floor was rarely washed and shower not cleaned. Balcony not cleaned once. Seagull droppings left on tiles and plastic furniture. Had to clean off ourselves. We first stayed here 2.5 years ago, and it has definitely gone downhill. The Royal Elite restaurant was overcrowded, sometimes a 10+ minute wait for a table or leave and come back at 8.30 and watch the food run out (or hot food was cold) and the tables being cleared for breakfast. Staff worked very hard, but it felt like being in a canteen. Food was plentiful but bland.Constant loudspeaker shouting for bingo and other daytime entertainment put us off.
The hotel is perfectly located right next to the beach. You can climb up to the cliff for access to other nearby beaches. We opted for the all-inclusive package; however, the food was just okay and became repetitive every day, as it was mostly the same options. The staff was very friendly and helpful, which was a plus. While the hotel itself is nice, it definitely needs some renovations. We also experienced some issues with the shower. Overall, it's a nice place but has the potential to be much better.
The hotel was very big and lovely to explore. Lots of facilities like many pools, mini golf, games area, spa etc. Within the all inclusive range there was always some sort of food/drinks available all day. All staff such as Reception staff, house keepers and staff at the restaurants were all very helpful and kind. The chefs would help cater for my dietary requirements and would tell me what I could and couldn’t have. Free transport to go into the city centre which was lovely!
We had a plumbing issue in our bathroom. It took a while for an engineer to come out to us and we had to ring many times until someone came. The same happened with our door key which wouldn’t work. We waiting a while for someone to come to let us in. The cutlery- glasses in the restaurants were very dirty and it made me feel uncomfortable to use so I would always use a disposable paper cup instead and if this was not available then a member of staff would get it for me and my husband which was really nice of them. I noticed a lot of people felt this about their glasses.
Lovely hotel outside of Playa Blanca. About a 20 minute walk along the promenade to the marina and a 50 minute walk to the Centre of Playa Blanca. Good selection of food in the buffet and excellent to have drinking water refilling facilities at the hotel. There’s a gorgeous walk along the cliffs beside the hotel to Playa de Papagayo.
There were often drinks and plates left around by the lifts from the all inclusive. The pools are up high so can feel a bit windy up there. Use of sauna is not included unless you are on an all inclusive package.
Nice and clean. Friendly staff. Nice seating areas inside and out.
Bathroom was a bit rough. Initially looked fine but then you realise that water damage had got into the panels around the bath and other areas and then had expanded and were damp.
Location was good
Our bathroom was suffering badly with damp and the smell was strong every time the door was opened. Obviously an isolated problem I would think but should still have been picked up.
Just back from 5 nights hotel was lovely food was fab loads of variety I recommend going on inclusive staff were great with the kids so much for all ages to do views were fabulous
3 pools but only one was heated so most people were trying to get beds around that one as the kids used so it felt squashed at times also the usual bed hogging for the day staff never took towels away to free up beds for those who wanted to use them
We chose this hotel for location and for food - we saw reviews that said the food was decent for vegetarians. Every dinner they had a small section with vegan food, which was great! As vegetarians we were glad we got half board. Thanks for considering us vegheads
It seemed there were foods that were vegan but not marked, so it would be good if vegan vs vegetarian foods were marked more clearly. One of the pools was heated which was nice, but would be better if the other pools were heated too
Entertainment team worked very hard ..the Hotel was very clean and the food was excellent..i would highly recommend
Nice hotel with everything you need and very reasonable. Very clean and friendly
Drinks were not great and the entertainment was poor.
The atmosphere food in the restaurant was good and varied and taisty beds good and comfortable
The evening show time was noisy and could be better
Large rooms with large en-suites.Super location , plenty to do and choice of spaces around a number of pools or other areas to sunbathe.
The soap / shampoo dispenser was well past its prime and kept jamming .The square pillows also past their expiry date. I put mine in the bin and was given a slightly improved one !The food on the whole was good . It was just not hot enough if you arrived half an hour after the restaurant opened.
Foods are fantastic
The lift was so noisy, my room was so close to the lift, every morning and evening were nightmare.
