- Location, availability of different types of rooms, easy check in and out, parking in the premises.
- It’s a fabulous old building, full of character and very comfortable. It’s in a perfect location, if only not easy to find first time. It has free garaged parking and is dog friendly. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast food and area are also lovely. Great value for money. We stay here on our way from Santander to Torrevieja and will stay again on return. I can’t praise this hotel highly enough.
Cons -
- Unfortunately their restaurant closed, but the reception informed is of many dining options in the town.
- I would have more fruits and healthier options for breakfast.
- Due to time of year the bar and restaurant were closed. Shower over mini bathtub.

Wonderful historical building.
Due to time of year the bar and restaurant were closed. Shower over mini bathtub.
Excellent location in the centre of an interesting historic town. The hotel is itself a fascinating old building. The covered secure parking comes at no extra cost. Our dog was allowed in the restaurant area (for breakfast). The staff are extremely helpful and friendly.Really good value for money.
The shower was a bit claustrophobic. The restaurant was closed in the evening (at the time of our stay), but there are several others within easy walking distance.
Nicely decorated, excellent breakfast, helpful staff. Very pretty building.
Bed was not terribly comfortable, bathroom had no extractor fan and unsightly damage on the ceiling as a consequence. Shower curtain was not as nice as it could have been.
Mid January so very quiet. Central space is charmingly rustic. Room with spa bath was large and comfortable. The lady on duty was trying to be helpful but as she spoke no English and we spoke little Spanish, communication was a challenge! Breakfast was good. Castillo de Belmonte is the main reason to be in town and it is very interesting. The Trebuchet Park is worth the extra few Euros.
Being off season the restaurant was closed. The nearest alternatives are a 10 minute walk. These (Las Murallas and La Cochera) were good and served interesting local specialities.
The best hotel in the historic center next to the church, great service, great price, very clean rooms, internet strength depends on the distance of the room from the WiFi, elevator, very good own restaurant, the best on site. very nice historic building. own garage.
No heating or hot fans on cold days ?
Fabulous grand old place, beautiful features, comfortable room, lovely breakfast, dog friendly, secure under cover free parking and a really helpful and friendly guy at front of house, Juan, he even phoned a nearby restaurant to reserve us a table as the hotel’s one wasn’t open. Great value for money. The setting in the town was amazing, something ancient around every corner plus a real castle!! Will stay again.
everything would have been fine except for negative points.
restaurant was closed the only night we stayed for a private function. Restaurant in town that was recommended was fully booked so we didn't get a hot meal. there was a bouncy castle out side of our window with very loud children until 21;20. the mattress on the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast was limited, would prefer more fruit.
Gorgeous hotel and location. Castilla-La Mancha is a beautiful region of Spain and Belmonte is a diamond. Walk up to the castle, take in the incredible view and back down to the tapas bars for the evening.
Palacio Buenavista is a beautifully restored hotel, with plenty of character, located in a lovely historic town. The staff were friendly and efficient, the rooms very clean and functional, and the buffet breakfast excellent.
Breakfast was plentiful. Room was nice.
Tricky business with the door. One man ahead of me couldn't get in. The reception staff are not at their post all day, which means you have to call them and they have to explain how to use the fob to open the door so you don't scramble the code.
Lovely building. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Great views. Spacious free garage with easy access from the street and also from the hotel garden.
The bath/ shower could do with refurbishment.
Lovely walk from the hotel to the castle. Decent breakfast is much better than expected.Very clean room, and I loved the bedsheets.
The walls in our room seem to be quite thin, which resulted in us being able to hear conversations, footsteps, and even snoring from neighboring rooms. This made it difficult to rest and relax in our room. We had planned to dine at the hotel restaurant, and when cheching into the hotel , I asked if the restaurant is open and was notified about operating hours. Upon arriving at the specified opening time, we were informed that reservations were required and that all tables were fully booked. We were disappointed and about to leave the hotel when a kind lady approached us and offered us the option of dining in the breakfast room. A tip for other travelers - make sure to book a table in advance if willing to dine while staying at the hotel. Wifi works only at the lobby.
Typical Spanish old world charm hotel, clean and comfortable spacious rooms, we especially liked the free underground parking which was ideal due to the narrow cobbled streets and security for our Motorbike. A special mention for Antonio at reception who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and keen to practise his English.
Nice building, friendly staff, great restaurant on site
Very small window in the room, the bathroom was a bit smelly
Really interesting very old building, said to be a Palace once. Friendly staff including at least one with good English. Excellent secure parking under the building at street level. Very welcoming warm restaurant with good food, service and good value. We used this as a one-night stopover en route but probably the old town is worth exploring. Large room with sofa seating.
History
Windows didn’t open in roomOnly one centre light not one each bedside Room furniture need updating Says dog friendly but heavily restrictedNo room service Very noisy at night with returning guests up to 0300am
Great location almost all in walking distance. Room clean and spacious. Staff helpful and friendly.
The jacuzzi was partly ‘broken’, one half didn’t ‘bubble’ and the left headrest fell off (was broken before, not repaired) When ordering tea, they should NOT serve it in tiny coffee cups, only half filled with water. Lifting out the teabag, hardly any liquid is left?
