Pros +
- The room itself was beautiful — spacious, comfortable, and well-designed. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, and the staff working in the restaurant were attentive and professional. The food quality matched what you’d expect from a five-star hotel, and those moments were truly enjoyable.
- Stunning restoration of an ancient castle surrounded by rolling green hills!
- Great luxury boutique hotel in a preserved building. Elizabeth is just a nice manager and the all staff is nice and willing to assist.High end hotel, the a la cart and 5 course restaurants are very special and not something you see in any other hotel or resturants.
Cons -
- Unfortunately, the rest of the stay fell far short of expectations. We arrived excited, expecting a special experience for our honeymoon, but the reception was closed and we were left waiting around 20 minutes before anyone helped us — and even then, the person who eventually assisted us seemed unwilling and unwelcoming. The next day, the same lack of care continued, with repeated phone calls to our room well before check-out time, making us feel rushed to leave. There’s also no spa or pool area, which would normally be expected in a hotel of this level. Overall, even though the property itself is nice, the staff experience makes all the difference — and in this case, it simply didn’t live up to the premium price or to what the hotel advertises. If you’re looking for a truly five-star experience, it’s better to stay somewhere else.
- a bit too expensive but it was great experience so its totally 10 grade.place for improvement - 5 course restaurant length is too long (3-4 hours)
- My only minor issue is with the hotel staff / concierge availability, lack of clear signage for check in and somewhat misleading statement that the property has a spa (almost all rooms do have one with a few exceptions, like one of the rooms we stayed in) - greater clarity in advertising, and explicit indication of spa is available would be best

Let's begin with Elizabeth and her staff. Elizabeth was very accommodating and made sure we were comfortable from the moment we arrived. She answered our questions and concerns. She gave recommendations that were perfect. Her staff were attentive as well. The hotel is simple yet elegant. The food? It was divine! From breakfast to gourmet dinner - everything is a 10. What an experience! Worth every penny! Love it!!!
Great newly renovated property, great location and excellent dining experience, both service and quality wise.

Best experience! Room super comfortable with nice view. Everything was well thought, even the yoga mat for strecthing after the hikes in the area. Hotel interior design was exceptional
The location of Ansitz Steinbock offers a perfect view of the valley (I recommend the suite Kroessbrunn) and is a pretty sight itself. The interior architecture is pefect -- very calm and emphasizing the historic structure of the buildings, while offering smart technological features.
On several occasions it was difficult to get hold of the staff. The menu of its restaurant(s) is rather limited; however the cuisine is polished and creative.
The staff was very friendly and helpful
Wasn’t clean enough. We found spiders Breakfast timing opening late
Hotel is beautiful, personal is super friendly and helpful, view from balcony amazing, breakfast was very tasty, variety of fresh fruits and berries and glass of sparkling ?
Everything was Great
Everything about this accommodation is superlative. It is made for the guests to feel amazing and it really exceeds the expectations. They even upgraded our room and it was one of the best suites i have ever stayed in. Luxurious breakfast, nice staff, great views
Staff could be warmer. Not to be misunderstood, they really try to be helpful and attentive with the guests but i think they try too hard not to make mistakes and we felt this. Or maybe we are just not used to this kind of treatment and that's why we felt just a little bit that people could be more natural. However, thank you all for having us!
Clean, updated, homey, comfortable.
I can’t think of anything.
Amazing restaurant great location friendly staff. Beautiful room with view and sauna
Not easy access on foot or car
An amazing combination of history and luxury. Very comfortable and spacious room with sauna. Local restaurant, food was excellent. Very friendly and professional staff. I highly recommend.
Excellent breakfast - both with standard cold items (cornetti, yogurt, etc) and also with hot items from the kitchen, all gratis. Great with my young kids even if the property was pretty fancy. Dinner was out of this world but reasonably priced for a Michelin starred restaurant. Staff was amazing - they even arraigned to get a local doctor to visit my sick child in the hotel room on a Saturday morning. Incredible service!!
The rooms were fantastic, the only drawback was the A/C only had a vent on once side of our two-room suite. It was sufficient, but would've been better to have a vent on both sides of the suite.
The hotel has only 12 suites. Therefore the suites are spacious. There can't be too many guests, so everything is very personal. All staff are trained to be helpful and friendly. The manager, Elisabeth, was always there to ensure professionalism, friendliness, comfort...The hotel is of inspiring beauty. Everything is very well designed. You get the feeling that the house and the guests are well looked after.Comfortable bedspacious roomModern bathroomNice toiletriesGreat balconyWell stocked fridge in the roomKettle and nice teas in room.Free spacious parkingWe had an infrared sauna in the suite which was great!Excellent breakfast with lots of hot (ordered) and cold choices. Option to dine in the hotel restaurant - indoors or outdoors. We dined there twice and were very happy both times.
Everything! The attention to detail here is extraordinary. Candles are lit everywhere, there are potted plants, umbrellas provided, inviting sitting spaces, bowls of fruit, a yoga mat in the room, etc. Breakfast is amazing!
The space is lovingly refurbished, and amazingly modern and comfortable. The staff are wonderful, highly attentive and knowledgable.
Beautiful historic building. Comfortable room with really nice sauna and great beds. The view was amazing. Outstanding breakfast. Love the village. Could not wish for more.
Beautiful property and decor, luxury amenities and rooms. The staff was exceptional and professional service. The wine offerings are extensive. The GM was local and very helpful with information about the history, the region and recommendations for places to visit. This unique luxury hotel has everything right. Breakfast was amazing. The location is central to the area, very historic and quaint and not touristic.
We could have stayed longer...
The atmosphere was so relaxed, the staff were very friendly and professional. The food (even the half board 5 course menu) was divine. By far the best place we've been to. Missing it already.
