Pros +

  • Lovely location on river, nice hottub, quiet, nice breakfast
  • We stayed at this fabulous hotel for 3 nights on a bucket list family holiday in April (5 adults). From the moment we arrived we were wowed by the location. Its secluded away from the nearby village but still walking distance to the local restaurants and brewery. All of our adventures within South-West Iceland were no more than a 1.5 hour drive away which beats staying in Reykjavik! We booked 3x superior Lake view rooms with balconies which were spacious and immaculately clean; they very much worth the money. Included in our rooms were: naspresso coffee machine, towels, robes, flip-flops, mini chocolates, mini fridge, toiletries, hair dryer. The rooms were warm and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We were lucky with the weather when we stayed with sunny days and clear nights! We even saw the northern lights from the balcony and hot pools! The highlight of our stay was the food this hotel has to offer. Breakfast was included each day and offered a wide range of hot and cold choices. I particularly enjoyed the waffles at the do-it-yourself station. The staff even allowed guests to boil their own eggs in the hot springs found at the hotel! We had dinner at the restaurant one night and I can honestly say I had the best beef I had ever tasted there, everything was so fresh! Others within our group loved the lamb too. The wine went down very well! We will definitely be back to this hotel in the future!

Cons -

  • Sauna wasnt hot, one hottub wasnt hot, pool was cold
  • One of our rooms struggled to get hot water on the first night, however this was quickly rectified by the staff who worked incredibly quickly to fix!
