- The Little Chateaux was exceptional in every way, Beautifully sited on the Cosson River, carefully and lovingly restored by hosts Gael and Cecile, exceptionally comfortable room, access to beautiful sitting rooms and stunning gardens, amazing breakfast, wine degustation experience, history lessons and more, all in the heart of the Loire.
- In a word: incredible!Everything about our stay in the chteau was beyond our (very!) high expectations. The owner Gal was extremely warm and welcoming, and gave a fascinating tour, in English for us. The castle itself was painstakingly and lovingly restored to its former glory, yet had all the modern amenities. Emma greeted us upon arrival and made us feel at home right away. Our room was so comfortable I could hardly bring myself to get out of the bed.But the delectable breakfast made it all worth it! They were so accommodating, they acquired gluten-free bread just for me, and the jams, cheeses, and honeys were so delicious! I loved all the teas and my hubby really overdid it with the espresso machine Let me not forget to mention that the shower was fantastic and there was a giant soaking tub. We had free use of the common rooms in the castle to read in front of a toasty fire and just relax in quiet comfort. We could hardly believe our good fortune, to stay in such an amazingly beautiful place.Overall, it was a really perfect stay, and we only wish that it could have been longer! Highly recommend!
- Beautiful well preserved chateau, amazing historical significance, very clean, delicious daily french breakfast included in the price, very comfortable beds. The chateau owner and staff very friendly and attentive to all your needs ensuring you have the best possible time. I cant wait to come back and bring my teenage boys. Central location close to the most popular tourist attractions. Because of this very special property, the Loire Valley will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart.

This is a beautifully restored small chateau - managed by the owners who personally greet you and take care of you during your stay. Perfectly located to explore both Chambord and Blois. The interiors are all lovely - excellent bedlinen and very clean. We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast and there is free tea and coffee available at all times. The pool is fabulous - we explored in the mornings and spent the afternoons relaxing. We loved the wine tasting which was organised mid week during our stay. I rarely give a 10 but this very comfortable 'B&B' is so elegant and has a charm all of its own that you should stay if you can. It was a memorable 3 days - I really hope we can return.
Nothing really. Be aware of the age restrictions when booking - this is a place for older teens / adults only. Remember that you need to travel out for lunch / supper - this was not a problem. Blois is close by and we enjoyed some wonderful dinners there.
The grounds were spectacular! Our room was huge, bed super comfortable; I felt like a queen!! Breakfast was wonderful - croissants, baguette, variety of jams and jellies, local cheeses, meats, yogurt, granola, OJ, cakes, hot beverage. We were given a complimentary tour of the chateau and its grounds wherein we learned so much history of the house and history of France. Our hosts were the best.
The Chateaux is a beautifully resorted accommodation with great history. Gael & Cecile are very passionate about sharing the history. The rooms are exquisitely furnished and comfortable.
We had a wonderful stay and thank Gael and his staff (specially Emma) a lot for their warm welcome, the castle and its location are simply superb. Breakfast was super good! We will be back.
We had an incredible stay and would recommend without hesitation! The property has been renovated with exquisite taste and attention to detail - wonderful bedrooms, comfy beds, great breakfast, and our hosts were so welcoming and engaging. The drawing room / piano room is stunning as is the pool and garden. So grateful!
Breakfast was excellent and included homemade cakes and preserves, fresh fruit, pastries, meat, cheeses, yogurt and bread just to mention a few. The owner showed a genuine interest in his guests and was more than willing to talk about the history of his beautiful chateau. He spoke multiple languages and made sure that we felt right at home. Upon arrival, we were told that we were allowed to explore the 80 acre property at our leisure. The pool and surrounding area were beautiful. Even though the weather did not cooperate, the owner made sure that the pool was open just for the 2 of us. Wonderful stay. Highly recommended.
N/A. Everything was great.
The Chateau des Grotteaux Prs Chambord is absolutely beautiful, charming, and a dream castle. The owners, Gal and Ccile made our stay perfect in every way. They helped us plan our day and booked an excellent nearby restaurant for us. Breakfast was delicious with fruits and jams made on site. The tour of the chateau and its history was well explained by Emma. Clean and very comfortable beds. Conveniently located to various castles and the city of Blois. I highly recommend this chateau.
I liked everything.
Easy access to major chateaux in the area, quiet and expansive. The owner's tour of the property is a "must"; his knowledge of the historical and geographical aspects gave us a good insight of the region. The couple who owns the place greeted us at the breakfast table and offered advice and help for our visit, which is not the kind of hospitality one would receive from a "hotel". Our lodging for three is in a separate building, so we missed seeing those lovely rooms in the main chateau building as shown on their site. The pool looks lovely but unfortunately we didn't have the time to spend some time there. The Cosson river that runs in the property is a tempting place to fish too.
It might be a good idea to equip the shower with a corner shower rack and a handrail. This may only apply to our room, which was the former chapel.
Everything. Literally everything. The Chateau is a piece of history (the owner Gael will prove it to you personally), in one of the best locations in the Touraine region one could imagine. You can just hop on one of their bikes and immediately be on the main Loire bike trail. Gael and his staff make it clear that they want to get to know you & enjoy your company, and will personally concierge any activity you could imagine. There are no weaknesses with the rooms, facilities, food, etc. This is a special place run by hands-on owners who are clearly passionate. I've traveled extensively, this easily was among my most memorable stays, & this is not said lightly.
One has to work to find something to complain about. The chateau is in a rural location set amongst some smaller towns, it's best reached by car. If you want to be in an urban setting, this probably isn't your place. But once you enter the chateau's story book setting, you'll immediately understand why the Loire is not best appreciated by staying in an urban setting. Prepare to be a French aristocrat for a couple of days.
this place is out of this world. an absolutely unique castle, surrounded by an incredible nature, water/trees/grass/wild animals. The rooms are splendide, the pool is simply unmatchable, few rooms, extremely private, the best of our french experience by far. only 5 rooms, phenomenal. do not miss this place
The chateau is an absolutely adorable place. A beautiful garden surrounds the main building with truly wonderful rooms. The hosts and staff are lovely and the breakfast is a perfection.
Time travel with this excellent luxury guesthouse - its more than a hotel : meet the owners, notably Gael - meet the region - meet French heritage
Meeting the owner at breakfast, the salon, the exclusive warm welcome with Perrine
Great place to stay Full restaured castle with excellent taste We had also a very nice personal welcome from the owners Madame & Monsieur du Hagout .A great experience we strongly recommend
The welcome was excellent in every way; the breakfast (as you ask) as good as we have ever had anywhere in the world, whether in a hotel or other accommodation. The house, swimming pool and furnishings were beautiful, and everything was in exquisite taste. The visit around the chateau and its history - as recounted by the charming, enthusiastic and knowledgeable owners - was fascinating and highly informative. The house has been wonderfully restored, clearly with the same care and attention to detail as is lavished on their guests. Nothing was too much for our hosts.
It is difficult to imagine what improvement there could be.
Absolutely incredible hotel!! Everywhere you look, inside and out, is beautiful, gorgeous, and inspirational. The proprietor and the hotel worker were both so helpful, charming, and informational. Do you want to eat an incredible breakfast in a room with wood beams painted in 1620? Do you want to wake up in a high-ceilinged room and look out at a gorgeous river, traversed by an Eiffel bridge? Do you want to drink champagne while looking over a noble grass lawn that slopes toward Chambord? Dont miss out on this sensational hotel!!
What an outstanding place, we enjoyed staying at Chateau des Grotteaux Prs Chambord. The place is tastefully decorated, with a lot of details. The grounds are well kept with a swimming pool and Eiffel bridge, nice touch! The services were impeccable. The owners are very pleasant and informative. Overall, we will definitely recommend this place!
Absolutely nothing!
The uniqueness of the property, the tranquillity, the history, the kindness of the owners Gael and Cecile makes this a once in a lifetime experience not to be missed. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to enjoy your Chateau.
You cant complain about anything.
