- Great value for family of 4. Food in restaurant was very good
Cons -
- Childrens arcade room and sensory room were not open and staff said they had put it on website the night before even though I was on the website the night before and there was no notice until after we had already checked in and even at that i would have appreciated sufficient notice as i was booking it for 3 children and would have liked the option to change to another time when all facilities were open to them . The ladies bathroom for the restaurant had a very strong smell of vomit all night which was very unpleasant to experience between courses. We also found a broken light fixture in our room and the sleep was very uncomfortable considering it took hours for the AC to actually cool our room down. Considering I stay in hotels often I found this experience to be nothing close to a 4 star experience as advertised and will not be returning.
- Unfortunately I made a last minute booking to the hotel with 3 kids 2 having autism and the sensory room and arcade was out of order. I wasn't told this until I rang the hotel when I was 20 minutes away! Had I of known all the facilities where out of order I would have stayed at a different time or went somewhere else. Maybe some notice on the website would be handy especially for families with children with special needs.
- Would be nice to have some water in the room. Breakfast was expensive so we avoided it

The Hotel itself was clean and tidy, the beds were not very comfortable but thats a matter of preference. You could tell the effort the cleaning staff put into the rooms, the bathroom was shining and beds were so well made. The pool staff were also very attentive and accommodating to our kids and the pool facilities were very well maintained.
When we first arrived to check in we were immediately disappointed by the hotel reception staff, namely Paulina. Unfortunately manners and professionalism was not top of her list. When paying with cash we were told we needed to leave a €100 cash deposit aswell as our card details to assure the room was satisfactory when we left, I have never been asked for this before and when I questioned it her tone was extremely rude and short, almost like she couldn't be bothered explaining it. When we were checking out the next morning the same staff member was on the desk, and when I asked for the deposit back she insisted on calling the cleaning staff to check the room before she gave us out €100 deposit back. She then got quite snappy and condescending with me when I again questioned it. Since everyone else just dropped their keys into a box and simply walked out of the hotel. I felt our family were judged in someway by her and she made that very clear. Finally after 20mins of waiting the cleaning staff said that our room was left in perfect condition and they could hand us back the deposit. I was so embarrassed at this point I did not even call for a manager I just wanted to get out of there. We have never been treated like that in all our time travelling around as a family, and we most definitely wont be returning for this reason alone.
Everything for the children was closed due to renovations. The pool was open but nothing was working.
Everything for the children was closed. Breakfast was a ripoff €20 per person when the children just wanted cereal. We did not know about the renovations we should of been told via email when we booked.
Everything about this hotel was excellent with regard to its, welcoming staff, facilities, room size, cleanliness, parking etc
There didn't appear to be a formal restaurant in the hotel but pub food was available during our stay.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Ella in the bar was excellent. The two door staff in the lobby were very nice too. Our children loved playing with them!We ordered breakfast to the room one morning and the staff member who delivered it was extremely nice and chatty. Size of the room was great, nice big windows. It was quiet. The bed were comfortable too and the location 30 min to Newgrange was perfect for us.
The atmosphere in the bar was a bit flat, this was probably due to the decor. The staff however were amazing. One of the buttons on our toilet was broken, the plastic bag holder in the bathroom was broken, the room over all was grubby and stainedThe swimming pool was grubby and there was not lit up well enough (I felt this was dangerous) but the life guards seemed to be very alert.
Beds were comfortable, family rooms are a good size. The bar food was very good.
Nothing, it was all good
The food was amazing and the swimming very clean
My daughter request a bottle of pressecco to be in the room on arrival for my birthday And when we got to rhe room it was not there even tho it was paid for. We had to then call reception to ask for it
The staff were very friendly. The food delicious. The location excellent.
We went swimming, then food in the restaurant and then we booked the sensory room for after. Missed not having the arcade this time but still enjoyed our stay alot. Booking again for Feb.
Missed the arcadeLooking to book again for childs birthday and the rates are very expensive now
The hotel was selected due to the location of which we were travelling (Ashbourne). We enjoyed some swimming in the pool which had friendly staff.
Our check in was sadly unwelcoming. We thought the rooms were very basic for a 4star.
Breakfast was not included in the room at €145 so we paid an extra €41 for a breakfast no coffee with breakfast just seem the breakfast was thrown together
Better value, we went to see The Fureys and we had to stand at the back as there was no seats
Breakfast was good.
Friends paid for a bottle of champagne and a note to be left for me as it was my 60th birthday. But in the room was a cheap bottle of prosecco and no note as if the hotel left it for me as a welcome gift. Only a friend told me what it was, I never would have known. The hotel did not tell the friend that they supplied prosceeco instead left no note and no refund. The friend complained and a refund on the difference in price was issued - but only because they were found out. No apology issued!
We did not have breakfast in the hotel
The room my eldery mother stayed in was very coldRoom service was extremely disappointing as the 2 pizza we ordered were under cooked and €15 each
Food was delicious, rooms clean & comfortable. Staff were very friendly & helpful
Had to use paper cups & plastic cups when hotel was very busy. Queues at bar were very long at busy times. Hotel needs to be a bit more organised for organised events. More staff for events.
Bad
When we arrived the receptionist was not very friendly at all. When we went to our room in was freezing had to ask for a mobile heater which did not make a difference at all. When we went to the restaurant the staff was not friendly everything was rushed. I ordered a steak and could not eat it as it was very tough. Definitely won’t be back to this hotel
Nice professional staff. Especially Alan in the restaurant. Pool is nice for the family.Sensory room is a great facility.
Elements of the pool were broken. Pool could do with a clean. Restaurant more like a social club. Hotel in need of refurbishment.
Bed was extremely comfortable staff where outstanding. Food was lovely good value for money
