Hotel Garni Birkhahn

The hotel is located directly on the ski slopes. From the ski cellar you can ski directly to the gondola. Beautiful view of Wirl and Galtur.Spacious and clean rooms. Pleasant owners, excellent communications. Good quality food. The quality matches the price.

We had an older type of room, the mattresses would definitely need to be replaced.

The location was great! We appreciated being able to ski in and ski out and that made for a great, flexible family trip. The location of our room in the hotel was excellent also. Our hosts were amazing - so helpful and they spoke English and went out of their way to assist us with everything we needed and even helped us get our van out after the snow storm. The food was delicious. The option to have bread brought in the mornings was great.

The apartments were too warm. One of them had a thermostat so we adjusted it and it was a bit better. The other apartment had no temperature control that we could find. We didn't ask them about this so I don't know if they could have fixed it or not. But we were hot and had to just wear tshirts and open windows but couldn't open windows during the snow storm and wind.

Friendly staff, nice location, good facilities, clean and good size room, good breakfast.

The bed was to firm for me ( side sleeper and flexible)

We went for snowboarding for 2 days, and we were also with our 4 months daughter. Everything was nice, the room, the view, the fact that we could both snowboard. It was easy to switch who is riding, no time lost, as it is a ski in ski out location (one of us had to stay with the baby :D )

De only small downside was that the menu at the restaurant was not so diverse for vegetarians (my wife is vegetarian), there was just one option she did not like. In the end she had a soup (cheese soup) witch was delicious and some fries.

Personal email communication with Anna (reception) who helped us with changing the Familyroom into two rooms (103 and 104) because of better view on the mountains, very friendly. Also rooms available already at 13.00. Furthermore fantastic breakfast with personal touch (e.g. starker coffee and fresh boiled eggs).The hotel is not in the city (only 2 km from city center) which we liked, direct hiking trails, MTB trails and cable cars from the hotel.

At arrival (Sunday 13.00) there was no reception/welcome (yet a very friendly woman from housekeeping staff) and the Silvretta pass was not available for the first day.
