Pros +
- Staff/service was overall good, and the location was very nice. The food was also pretty good, and there are many choices for meals (buffet style).
- The location served its purpose as the start of the Pondo Trail. The price of the wine was very good.
- The food and the whole service was amazing. The staff was very welcoming, thanks to Samke and her team. The area where a hotel is situated and it's nature is giving life.
Cons -
- The facilities are a bit dated and are in need refurbishing/deep cleaning.
- The room was smelly! The dinner buffet was absolutely awful, there was very little I cared to eat and a good toasted sandwich would have been preferable even at R280.
- Bathroom towels are too old, need to be changed.Limited range of food to choose from. Rooms were not on the same standard eg. the other room has wifi and the other one has none.

The front desk staff are super efficient and welcoming. The Hotel location provides picture perfect views of the Estuary and Ocean. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The restaurant staff are pleasant, attentive and helpful, without hovering over you. We had a truly lovely stay at The Estuary Hotel and Spa and would certainly go back for another visit, especially since we did not try out the lovely spa treatments this time round.
I would only ask that they trim the tree branches at the entrance to the Hotel off the main road, they are currently obscuring the hotel signage an its easy to miss the turn off to the Hotel.
Old Constantia style architecture, Beautiful, well-maintained territory with amazing view. very peaceful and quiet surrounding. It is 3-star hotel, so expect 3-star experience at its best
Internet, WIFI is almost not existing. Telephone reception not everywhere. The restaurant: old days tiny ,in diameter, plates ( for starters and for the main course), black table cloth, black nupkins and black staff uniforms in the rainy days make you beleive that you are at the funiral parlor... The menu items ,as well as the kitchen execution of it, is probably well recieved by the targeted audience. It was not our cup of tea though. But every staff member is friendly and very helpfull
The seaviews and rooms were neat.
Breakfast was bad!?. All dry and not appetizing.
Location is good and most staff are friendly
Beds were uncomfortable , rooms are old and not maintained properly, Spa was un-professional. We booked at the Spa for the family, were told at the last minute that my 6 year old daughter would be massaged by a man as they did not have female therapists, this was when my wife and daughter were already in the room. We were only allowed once key card, I asked for another and was point blank told no, only one card per room is allowed. All meals were overcooked, dried out. All in all, did not enjoy the stay at all and will not return.
Breakfast was not very pleasing
The cakes did not seem fresh. Very little vegetarian choices. The mutton and chicken sausages were hard.
We liked the venue and the peaceful, quiet place. The Breakfast menu and Staff were very engaging and helpful
There was a kind of sewerage smell all around. The dinner menu needs to be improved.A ala carte menu should be introduced instead of a Buffet style and it was not "value for money"
Loved the location, room was spacious.
TV not working properly, not clear at all, too few channels, problem with the aircon, other occupants noisy, stairs to top floor (am 61years old). No cosmetics in room only handwash. Water seems to be an issue as problem flushing toilet. Only one serving of tea and/or coffee per couple.
The hotel is in an amazing location.
The buffet was not appetising and their choices of wine are limited.
The view is picture perfect. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant was great, spa treatments were good. The exterior of the building requires maintenance.
Staff attitude 10/10Breakfast 10/10
Some beds are begging and hv discomfort
Breakfast wowoStaff attitude wowLocationWow
Some beds needs to be upgraded and sound proof is required
the location was great but breakfast i cant say was the best.
The rooms did not have any lotion, shampoo & my main is a shower cap & also no packet for laundry.Very important & something to consider, this is the first hotel that i stayed & i stayed in many, i cant have a good cup of tea or coffee cause there is no milk in the room and i had to call for room services & pay. This is not a cheap hotel we are paying a good price & we expect good service. Because most people these days steal things from the rooms now people like us must pay the consequences. We was very disappointed.
The view from the room was goodThe room was clean
The food was awful .The Saturday night buffet was a disaster. My hubands comment was, " the meal was not worth more than R100"The fish was wet n soggy The bread rolls were hard as rockThe sirloin steak cuts were tastelessThe chicken curry tasted as though the curry powder was added as an afterthought I could on and on, nothing on that menu had any taste. The malva pudding was burnt with no syrup at all.The entire meal was a disaster
The staff were extremely friendly. Place is tranquil and views amazing. I loved that they have a private entry to the beach.
I didnt like the colour of the water used to bath as they practise water conservation. Im not sure how safe or hygienic it is. We were informed by reception not to consume the water and bottled water was provided.
Location was great, views were beautiful
The condition of the rooms were bad, it looks like it needed some TLC, it had a bad smell. I had to spray my expensive fragrance to mask the smell
The food was so so nice best chefs you have
The fact that when it's time for check out , the system automatically checks you out of your room and you can't enter again. Had to ask a lady that was cleaning next door to open for me coz I had forgotten my jersey in side
Beautiful place exterior
No hot water, and insufficient dinner at buffet however the manager reimbursed and was apologetic, property has deteriorated
