few people spoke English, but the cleaning lady had one of those translating phones--wild

I had a hard time getting into the place--I had to enter thru the bar/breakfast area around back. my room was great and I love the spiral staircase. after registering, the gal gave me the information I needed and the keys.

Heating didn’t work, even after repaired/adjusted.

Excellent location, close to the center, nice and clean rooms, friendly staff.

Having a large fan in the room was nice. They have garage space for bicycles. Good pizza restaurant on the premises.

Uneven floors in the older section caused me to trip a few times. Be careful.

Well, we were upgraded from the old building to the new, so had a room we didn't expect. Funky, especially the shower :-). VERY helpful staff.

very close to the train station, near a park, not far from the center of the city. Quiet, good Italian restaurant.

Not the best pillows and unfortunately a very poor breakfast.

Food was delicious in the restaurant and at the breakfast buffet. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We have stayed at the Villa several times and each time we have thoroughly enjoyed the Villa.

A really great place to stay. You can choose classic or ultra modern. Industrial design at its finest at a great location.

The location is great. The new rooms are modern and clean. In general I really like it.

The old rooms are a bit noisy and too bright from street lights.

Very friendly staff, nice architecture, great location, comfortable bed.It is a nice detail that they offer you a hot drink with your stay - I was surprised to be able to get a very nice cappuccino with plant-based milk.

I could hear other guests in the corridor, which woke me up.

Location and cleanliness

Very trendy - totally impractical. Bathroom setup was not comfortable. Things look nice - but function very poorly. This place is an exhibitionist’s dream.

They ran out of soap a couple of days, but I had my own so no big deal. A couple of days they forgot to leave towels, but that was resolved when I went to get them.

Disappointing - lack of personnel and refusal to address plumbing problems

We were unfortunately very disappointed by our stay at the Villa Boutique Hotel. We were passing through cycling, and read the good reviews. Our room was in the annex (older building), which is beautiful, however had some serious problems. The building smelled like smoke, and the plumbing wasn’t acceptable. The shower had extremely low water pressure when turned to hot, and bursts of cold water came through, making it unpleasant to take a shower. Worse, our sink became quickly blocked by the metal drain, which wouldn’t raise back up, and meant the sink was filled with water. We went to signal this to the front desk, but there was no one on duty after 3pm. There was a sign saying to go to the restaurant, which we did. The woman we spoke with at the restaurant seemed concerned by our request for help. She said she would come up to look, but never did. So, for the entirety of our stay, we couldn’t use the sink. I let the front desk know in the morning, but the person working just assured me that they would look at it later that day, which didn’t help us at all. Hotels should have personnel available to solve problems in the rooms whole guests are paying for them. This experience was not at all worth the price we paid, and I would recommend going to a hotel which adresses guests’ legitimate problems.
