    Pros +

    • Historic old property, each room unique, great location in old town, quick walk to most sites, staff very pleasant friendly and helpful, most spoke excellent English. Breakfast was very good.
    • Location. Quaintness
    • Loved the uniqueness of this historic hotel! All the rooms are different and very quaint. It’s right in the heart of the city, but tucked in a quiet alley. The bed was so comfortable! There’s a lot of stairs if you’re staying on the top floor, but that adds to the charm. Loved their restaurant, it’s do beautifully decorated! The staff was super nice and helpful! I highly recommend this wonderful hotel!

    Cons -

    • This isn’t a dislike, per se, but this is an historic (medieval) building and doesn’t have an elevator. So, unless you are able to carry your luggage up to 3 long flights of stairs, I’d recommend contacting the hotel about room selection before reserving. There are 5-6 rooms on what we’d call the 2-4th floors in the US, but since the German’s number the ground floor 0 and start counting from there, their floor 3 is 3x flights of stairs to the 4th level. If you aren’t up to carry your luggage more than a flight, ask if they have a room on floor 0 (think I saw 2-3 doors in that ground floor) or floor 1.
    • Bed was very uncomfortable. Bathroom lighting was inadequate.
    • Climbing the stairs up and down with our luggage, but is common in Europe. Would like to have had a fan since there is no air conditioning.

The staff was great. The breakfast was presented beautifully and delicious. The rooms are all differently decorated and different sizes. We were lucky to have a nice large room.

Good location. Friendly staff. Big room

This is a historic building. No elevator (stated in description), very difficult to carry luggage up for a higher floor. Stairs everywhere, easy to get injured or shoes damaged at a stair you don’t expect.

Super cute hotel, with fantastic restaurant. Individualized rooms, very large and comfortable. Bed is fantastic. We had a fabulous day and will definitely be back.

Staff was excellent. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is beautiful and is a very old building. The location is 10 out of 10 - amazing! The room was very large and the bathroom comfortable. The restaurnt has great food at a good price.

The hotel’s central location is very convenient, but it does come with some city noise, especially at night. Since there’s no air conditioning or fan, we needed to keep the windows open, which made it a bit warm and harder to block out the noise. The Wi-Fi connection was also a bit spotty during our stay. Still, the overall atmosphere and location were nice—it just might not be ideal for very light sleepers in the warmer months.

The hotel was in a fantastic spot, which was good after we put car in parking space we no longer needed it. The room was quite big and for my family it was good for the night. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic, one of the best we have had in all of Europe. The room could do with a bar fridge

Location was excellent as long as you can walk a few steps from you car . Atmosphere in restaurant and my BALI room was great. ?

The room was fantastic. You are living history when you have painting and writing on the walls of a different time. Modern touches added.

Not much. The lamp did not put out much light.

The breakfast was amazing. We were served a warm boiled egg, a large platter of meat, cheese, fruit jams etc and a basket of breads/pastries along with tea and orange juice. It was superb. The bed was comfy and clean. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Regensburg.

Our first room was not very nice. We were walked cross a dingy, grubby courtyard full of bikes into a rather basic room. Not at all like the lovely ones on the photos. We were so disappointed we went back to ask for a different room and we’re given a much better one (although still not as lovely as the ones on the photos - not sure who gets those ones) but that was up stairs that smelled of drains. Shower was ok but not big or powerful.

About 400 year old rustic place with a charming interior decor updated just enough for modern day comfortable stay for a couple of days. The staff was friendly, professional and efficient. And the room had all things I needed in addition to a comfortable firm mattress. I asked for an electric water heater and got it promptly!Th restaurant is very cozy and busy.I loved the old sagging floors and the funny artwork in the room.

The breakfast was served in the restaurant at the table in plates full of variety of food. It would have been nice if guests were asked for a veg or non veg preference instead of giving a lot of meat which some won't eat. The check in is through the restaurant which I knew already but the reception is a bit tight especially when the restaurant is busy. Other than this, an awesome place with great staff and excellent location.

Excellent location, big room. Staff at restaurant were very good. Solid breakfast, would help if they rotated the menu.Restaurant was good.

Room was above the restaurant, was really noisy. No air-conditioning so had to open the windows, more noise and second hand smoke.

The location was great for both Christmas markets that we attended. Parking was nearby and easy to get to and from the hotel. Breakfast was wonderful with table service. Friendly staff.

    We don't have any complaints.

Everything!!! Such an international comunity from all over the world! Syria, Vietnam, Eritrea, Africa. Beautiful!

The cobbled streets. They'll ruin my travel bag on wheels.

The location was absolutely perfect ? The breakfast was good and served as soon you sat down ?The bathroom was clean and shower was powerful.

There is a lot to unpack here sadly and I am absolutely gobsmacked by the “fabulous” score on Booking.com.First things first: First impressions always make a huge impact! When we arrived the staff were having a soirée at the bar (it was 24th December so I do get it,sort of ) and their immediate reaction when they saw us was like wth are you and what do you want !They gave us our keys and a list of open restaurants on Xmas Eve - completely inaccurate! The room itself - everyone on reviews mentions how it’s a must see and that’s the clue right there, SEE not SLEEP in it… awful sleep!! It’s grandiose but the bed was so uncomfortable, not a double, 2 singles sloping away from each other…The walls are paper thin, could hear the guy snoring from upstairs all night. Floors are creaking badly so all the time you went to the loo was waking up my partner.Pillows were feather filled flat like pancakes.Another thing everyone mentions how the staff speak perfect English, unless all that staff left I couldn’t confirm this was the case at all .So to conclude if you value your sleep on holiday and you want to start your day refreshed look elsewhere. If you want high wooden ceilings, Unesco heritage, creaky floors, terrible pillows this is your place.

In an old medieval building in Regensburg

The Balinese decoration in the old German building was an unusual choice. Our daughter’s room was spacious, well decorated and in keeping with the building.

    10ShelleyPosted on: 12-24-2024

The location, the history of the building and the beautifully restored rooms which were comfortable, unique and different all with antique furniture. Superb restaurant downstairs we had dinner and breakfast and both were excellent. Amazing attentive staff.

    No elevator ?

Central location. Very good breakfast. Great restaurant with a wonderful vibe

Parking far away. Long carry with luggage

    9TravisPosted on: 12-14-2024

A wonderful family space, central, parking was nearby and everything is within easy walking distance. The breakfast was lovely. We would definitely stay again.

Nothing it is typical central Old town so you do not expect parking and super easy access. It is exactly as expected and staff were helpful
