    Pros +

    • The location is fabulous! The staff was attentive and helpful. The breakfast had anything you could want.
    • The location was great, right next to the Opera House and the pedestrian zone. Our room had windows (that couldn’t be opened) that looked over these areas. It was a beautiful hotel, very much old world charm. We could order breakfast off of a menu rather than getting the breakfast from a buffet. The staff was friendly and accommodating, carrying our bags to our room, since it was on the top floor and there wasn’t an elevator. We appreciated having on site parking, although it was a bit challenging to get to and very tight spaces.
    • I booked a room with a twin bed and got a small single bedRoom was a oven , dated decor at astronomical price

    Cons -

    • The hallway leading to our room smelled horrible. Plus, the bed was very hard and uncomfortable.
    • While the staff was friendly, the staff at reception was new and not fully trained so both check in and check out were a bit confusing. While we could order breakfast from a menu, the food was served very “piecemeal”. The room key had old world charm but was huge. There was very limited space in the bathroom for our toiletries.
    • RoomOverpriced everything (35 parking ? Dinner above 100?)

Old historic building, family run for many years. Great location and parking available.

    Internet had no secure connection

Spacious room and bathroom, in city center

Great location, nice hotel but could use some renovations

The breakfast is ridiculous. While the quality of the food was good you almost had to beg to get more. The salami (one slice!) was so thin you could read a newspaper through it. The little silver coffee containers are pretty but you burn your fingers on the handles. All in all the hotel is very overpriced, and the breakfast is extremely disappointing.

the location is great and generally the hotel is very pretty.

The mattress had a deep dent in it. The shower head was wobbly and only pointed at the wall. When I arrived for breakfast all tables were occupied and the waitress did not know what to do with me- even when I asked her if I could get some coffee while I waited. Thankfully, another guest invited me to join her at her table. Then it took about one hour before I received my breakfast, and not until after I had given my order to two waitresses.

A nice, quick and efficient welcome when we arrived around midnight. Lovely room with unique decor and comfy beds. Very good breakfast. A wonderful hotel and local staple.

THe old-world charm without being kitschy. Being served breakfast, instead of confusing buffets. The associations with music and art and culture.

Excellent breakfast, beautiful property, very friendly and helpful staff, would stay here again!

Staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent location. Ambiance and flair in hotel very authentic. Very attractive bathroom decor.

Choice of cheese and cold cuts at breakfast very limited. Furniture in rooms for midgets. Part of metal bed loose and fell on us. Free standing bathtub unstable No elevator. Certainly Hotel not recommendable for guest with moving impairment. Besides some very eager but equally junior, unexperienced staff, no senior host or manager to be seen. 1 nt we were only guests in hotel, staff told us that they were leaving and there would be no night shift staff in-house. We checked and front and back doors were locked till morning. No escape route in emergency!!!

Very nice hotel in old fashioned style. Location doesn't get any better in Bayreuth.

Some elements in the room are 'just old' and can use an upgrade.

    7CristinaPosted on: 7-16-2023

Breakfast was good , quality food ,the breakfast service was very good. The beds were comfortable , there is no air-conditioning. Beware for the hot days.

The bathroom seemed not so clean , the style in the room was uncertain, there was no mini-bar , the noise from the inner-court rooms is annoying, especially at 3 in the morning, when you should be sleeping. Also we heard some noise from the interior parking, somebody leaving very early, he slamming doors etc. Also , there s not a phonic isolation between rooms, or between rooms and hallway. Also, very expensive for what we expected. No A/C !

The original German style of environment, clean and helpful staff. The house is beautiful and how everything is welcoming.

Not being able to select from buffet. I like to select exactly what I will eat so I don't overeat and food and there are no leftovers.

Superb old hotel in the heart of the city with great staff, superb breakfast, and a location right next to the opera house that simply can't be beat.

    9GailPosted on: 6-28-2023

It’s a Victorian time warp and everything is cozy antique and well maintained. Good bathrooms. Elegant dining area with excellent breakfast. Staff is friendly and helpful.

    Off site parking.

Excellent place to explore Bayeruth, all major attractions within walking distance and Margraf Opera just nearby. Hotel is located in historical building with charming interior. Rich and tasty breakfast served a la carte. Nice and helpfull staff.

Very nice old fashioned hotel in the center of town. The rooms are decorated in a castle style but with all equipment you need. Parking is in nearby public garage so don’t try to drive to the hotel address - there is a pedestrian zone. Good served breakfast. We didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant, there are many options in nearby town center.

Price is a bit higher but reasonable
